Context:

  • I've done some editing in the past, and two weeks ago got a notice on my talk page saying "Since you have made at least 10 edits over more than four days, you can now create articles yourself without posting a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for creation if you prefer."
  • For my next article (White Oak Pastures) I decided to go through the Articles for creation / draft process again, to see what kind of feedback I got
  • I received the following feedback: "Comment: reads in a very promotional manner is there a conflict of interest here? Theroadislong (talk) 18:25, 25 March 2023 (UTC)"
  • I responded, clarifying there was no COI, and asked for clarification regarding which parts were "very promotional"
  • I waited a week, hadn't gotten a response, so I decided to create the article in the main namespace (rather than moving the draft into the main namespace, which I now understand would have been better practice)
  • Today (April 6) the draft seems to have been reviewed again, and this time the feedback was more specific: "Concurring with User:Onel5969's statement that this draft is very promotional, the section on carbon sequestration is a coatrack that is not directly applicable to the subject, that appears to have been inserted to praise the subject business.". The feedback also pointed out the fact that there are now two copies of the article, the draft and the one in the main namespace.
  • I removed the "coatrack" section from both the draft version, and the main namespace version

Question: should I add the proposed deletion to the top of the draft namespace version?

@Hold your horses: if you want the draft space version to be deleted, you cannot PROD it as that only works in the main article space; you can instead either request G7 speedy deletion, or blank the content which amounts to the same. There is a possibility that an admin will look at the edit history and conclude that you're not the only editor with substantive edits (which is a condition for G7 deletions) and decline the request, but it's worth a try. Failing that, if you just leave it sitting there, in six months' time it will go stale and be deleted automatically anyway. (Technically we should get the draft's history merged into that of the main space article, but as the only edits up to the point when you copypaste-moved it are yours, there seems little point in this.)
Needless to say but I'll say it anyway, please don't do any more copy-/cut-and-paste moves in the future; they cause all sorts of problems.
Lastly, a minor point: the reason you didn't get a response to your COI comment is probably that the editor who queried it never saw your comment. Simply using the '@' symbol doesn't automatically create a message alert on article/draft space pages, you need to use a reply template, see template:reply to. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:35, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am requesting for the Article draft TOKUNBO OMISHAKIN be published and the article on TOK OMISHAKIN be deleted while the URL of the drafted be changed. I would like to know what it will take for that.

@Benicioleite2122: you don't improve, because this has been rejected and won't be considered again; it has also been marked for speedy deletion.

Hi @NaomiUIL: if/when this draft gets accepted, it will be moved to its actual title, which won't include the 'Dr', as per TITLESINTITLES. For now, we can leave it where it is.
