I submitted an article on one of the early African American journalists, Mary Frances Vashon (Colder). It was rejected, but I feel that rejection was done in bad faith. I was able to support every part of her life mentioned with documentation. Unfortunately, because she lived in the early part of the 19th century and was black, her history is a footnote in the histories of others. However, it is there. I carefully located enough of the scant information to create a full article on her from her birth to her death. But, apparently, Wikipedia only thinks her father and brother are worth mentioning despite evidence she wrote articles for Frederick Douglass' Papers and The Alienated American.

I want to know why you think one of the early female African American Journalists doesn't deserve her own page? Because I'm never going to be able to find an article with her name in the title until you let me publish one. 23.25.70.25 (talk) 06:02, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I see this as a major issue with Wikipedia not acknowledging the challenges of Africa and the limitations of the internet and accessibility to references especially when they’re in hard copy only.

Akkepower, I think it might be better if you started off with a smaller article; about 300 words that gives an explanation of the genre and its most notable players (all of which should have an existing article and cite a source directly linking them to the genre). Once it's in mainspace, other editors can help expand it further. I can see sources about Maghreb jazz, but most of them aren't in English. Hello,

I am an employee of Prime 1 Studio and I am trying to get a Wikipedia page up of our company. Is this not allowed? Does the contributor have to be unassociated with the company before an entry can be uploaded into the public space?

I've never uploaded a Wiki before, so any help is most welcome.

Taira-prime Wikipedia does not have "pages", it has articles. Wikipedia is not a place for companies to tell about themselves; we actually want independent editors who take note of potential subjects in independent reliable sources to write about those subjects, not representatives of the subject.
