Hi, is that you, Rocketboy222? Please remember to sign in before editing Wikipedia. If you want to know why Draft:Noah Wolf will not be accepted for publication, it's because the topic does not meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria. You may want to consider alternative outlets for what you want to write, or write about something else. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:27, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

02:24:31, 25 December 2021 review of submission by Taranjit Singh Gill

[edit]

I submitted autobiography about Taranjit Singh Gill. It was rejected by KylieTastic. I could not understand the comments. I would like to request you to send me reason for rejection and let me know how can I improve it. Pleae guide me how can I improve it any further. Cheers! Taranjit Singh Gill (talk) 02:24, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Taranjit Singh Gill. Jimfbleak deleted Draft:Taranjit Singh Gill with the comment "Unambiguous advertising or promotion: self written vanity page, see WP:YFA WP:RS WP:COI WP:Notability (people)". That is a bit cryptic, but each of the blue links contains further explanation. KylieTastic also left a message on your talk page that says, among other things, "Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies." To put it very simply, you cannot improve the draft. Wikipedia is not a place to write about yourself. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:23, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to know why my article on Gbenga Adefaye has been declined for review? I would appreciate it if it is looked into. thanksSemmy1960 (talk) 11:58, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Semmy1960. You commented on Draft:Gbenga Adefaye, "He is Notable, but we do not have enough sources to back our claims. Working on the sources though". Novice editors are frequently advised to cite at least 3 independent, reliable, secondary sources that contain significant coverage of their topic. Don't expect the draft to be accepted for publication until it does that. Also, please clarify what you mean by "we". The policy on Wikipedia is "one user—one account". Usernames should not be shared by multiple individuals. --Worldbruce (talk) 17:15, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info. i know that. what i mean by we are working on it is because other editors who were trained have discussed it and are also looking for ways to create his article. Because you are not a Nigerian you can not know who he is. Many Nigerians and Nigerian Journalists know who he is. He is the Provost of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, The president of the Guild of Editors, The Editor in chief of the Vanguard news paper. The Vanguard newspaper is one of the reliable sources used on Wiki. and the M.D is not on Wiki. I have been editing on Wiki for a while and i know the rules. We have issues with referencing in Nigeria, but we just leave with itSemmy1960 (talk) 14:08, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Semmy1960 I think you need to revisit Because you are not a Nigerian you can not know who he is.. If you create an acceptable draft it is irrelevant whether one is or is not Nigerian. Your role is to create a draft that is acceptable, showing that Adefaye is notable, passes WP:BIO. There are no special rules for different parts of the world. Wikipedia doesn't care what folk think, it cares about what is said about the subject in reliable independent sources. Let me remind you:
For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
Our role as reviewers is to seek to ensure that an article will not immediately be subject to one of our deletion processes when it is accepted. That is why we push it back to the author. We want to accept articles. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 15:05, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
