no Declined, lack of references, though some notability may be present. Worth more research. Fiddle Faddle 10:21, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please can you help me to comply with your expectations so that we can get this submission accepted.

Simone Hancox (talk) 10:00, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There is potential for notability here with the Highgrove Artist in Residence element. You need to read WP:REFB and get started on the referencing. Here we offer advice. Sometimes, though very rarely, you will get assistance.
Once you have worked on it please resubmit it for review, look at any comments you receive and take action on them, and work that way with us. Fiddle Faddle 10:17, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

12:43:38, 11 July 2014 review of submission by Gunterberghaus

I submitted a draft for a biographical entry. It was rejected and no reason given, except that the entry is about myself and does not meet Wikipedia's requirements.

I am a scholar and a leading expert in my field, author of over 20 books published by major publishing houses. The proposed entry contains biographical information about my career which can only be provided by myself. According to Wikipedia criteria, the requirements WP:NACADEMICS (Academics/professors meeting any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, are notable) are met: "1. The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources." Google scholar lists 404 citations in which my books are discussed. http://scholar.google.com/citations?user=ee2cPKIAAAAJ I have received 72 reviews of my books published in scholarly journals, and 30 of these are available on the internet through JSTOR, MUSE, EBSCO and similar databases. Some of these could be linked to the entry in the References or External links sections.

"8. The person is or has been head or chief editor of a major well-established academic journal in their subject area." I am editor of International Yearbook of Futurism Studies, currently the only periodical dedicated to Futurism Studies. This is a scholarly periodical of some 550-650 pages per annum published by De Gruyter, a leading science publisher. See http://www.degruyter.com/view/j/futur?rskey=S064VT&result=5&q=futurism

The text I submitted is, as it states clearly, a draft, to which citations, footnotes, and external linking are to be added. I was going to leave this to a later date after receiving feedback on the draft of the main section. However, no further response to the above commentary was received. 11.07.2014. User 91.0.95.161

I see Draft:Günter Berghaus, a draft which I reviewed, making no mention of any autobiography or conflict of interest. There is a perfectly reasonable reason that I did not accept this wall of unreferenced text.It is a wall of unreferenced text. My question for you is "What do you think is meant to happen next?"
Do go and look at the draft. It has my full reason as a comment. The note on your talk page could, perhaps, be better, but it says "Please read the comments left by the reviewer on your submission." It appears that you have failed to do so. Please do that now.
My answer, as the reviewer who declined it, is that you work on it and resubmit it. THat is the way write - submit - review - rewrote - resubmit works. It's an iterative process, and you are meant to participate in the iterations. THat you want to wait to put references on it later is entirely up to you, but it will always be declined as unreferenced before any other critique is given to you.
I did leave a message on your talk page about the writing of autobiographies. It looks like you are finding out one of the reasons. You should also read WP:ACADEME.
Please never, ever use the "Do you know who I am?" message when asking for help. That is how I read your opening salvo. It has a negative effect on people here. We don't care who you are. We care about the quality of your writing here. I happen to care about your attitude, too.
Now, you have done no work on the article since you received your first review. Perhaps now is the time to do so? Fiddle Faddle 13:38, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Driftofhours (talk) 13:57, 11 July 2014 (UTC) Hi, I submitted an article 'Susan Michie' last week. It's now saying thast it hasn't been submitted, HELP! Where am I going wrong![reply]

Thanks

It's a silly foible of the system, and we're working on unfoibling it. The article is and was submitted perfectly. Fiddle Faddle 14:17, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

18:01:27, 11 July 2014 review of submission by ELLENZUFALL

[edit]

How may I attach a picture (of the individual being profiled) to the article? ELLENZUFALL (talk) 18:01, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@ELLENZUFALL: no Declined If you want to upload a picture, use the file upload wizard. That said, your submission is citing other Wikipedia articles, which is prohibited per WP:CIRCULAR. Regardless, there's no evidence those articles bear out what you claim. You need reliable and independent sources like newspaper articles and the like to prove notability. You also appear to have a conflict of interest. Chris Troutman (talk) 18:30, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
