Can pls advise on how to improve my article so that it can be approved. Many thanks. Mr S Green 05:21, 16 June 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gnsnake (talkcontribs)

The draft is already much improved since it was last reviewed. However, the entire "Celebrities" section with all its subsections doesn't cite a single source; my suggestion would be to remove it outright. If some of the events covered there can be sourced, it would be much better to work them into the "History" section. Huon (talk) 00:50, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Huon. Slowly but surely... I am starting to understand, I will strive to further improve the article! Many thanks for the advise! Mr S Green 03:06, 17 June 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gnsnake (talkcontribs)
Hi Huon! I have removed the "Celebrites" section and further improved the article by adding the years of each production that Hayden Ng has dressed. Is the article ready to go? Can I enhance it any better?? Pls let me know. Many thank s again! Mr S Green 04:27, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
I have noted (in the article) a couple of places where citing a source where would be very helpful. Other than that, you may just have to be patient while editors here (all unpaid volunteers) work their way through the (never-ending) backlog of proposed new articles. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 01:02, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube personality

Hi i would like to know why my article was declined thanks. Josh-Toddly — Preceding unsigned comment added by Josh - Toddly (talkcontribs) 11:31, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Zacattack349 was declined for the reasons given in the pink box at the top of it. Making videos on YouTube does not make someone notable by Wikipedia's standards. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 11:36, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I added Literature and weblinks as I did in my German Wikipedia-article about "Friedrich Wilhelm Spahr" (one of the designers of Silver overlay). But these links are mostly in German,so that understanding of German language would be perfect while reviewing. Thanks a lot !Silberbelagwaren (talk) 14:47, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It would be great if you could add inline citations to clarify which source supports which of the draft's statements. For example, "Even a school for applied arts existed [in Schwäbisch Gmünd] very early and was changed into a school for the precious metal industry in 1907." Which source would I have to read for verification? And what's "very early"? 1600? 1800?
The draft's tone at times is also inappropriate for an encyclopedia article. For example, "Little did he know that with his influence Schwäbisch Gmünd was to become the centre of German Silver overlay production." Why is it relevant to our understanding of silver overlay whether or not Deutsch was prescient? At times the article even addresses the reader ("Very often you may also find...") - we shouldn't do so. Huon (talk) 15:51, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Michael Shuisky

[edit]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Michael Shuisky (submission names are case sensative.) Hello! I'm wondering why my article submission was declined? Sinserely Шуйская (talk) 23:51, 16 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think the problem is the long list of press reviews which are reproduced wholesale. An encyclopedia article isn't just a collection of newspaper clippings; you should summarize what they have to say about Shuisky, and cite the newspapers as sources for your summary. See WP:Referencing for beginners on how to easily create nicely-formatted footnotes. Huon (talk) 00:50, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
