second step: share contents on Wikipedia

[edit]

Give your contribution to Wikipedia and get users, collaborators and audience involved in the creation of articles and in the enhancement of cultural contents of your institution.

It takes from 1 to 3 weeks

1 – invite everybody to participate
  1 hour

Publish a piece of news presenting the project on your websites and send it to your mailing list. See a news sample.
2 - plan an event
  1 week

In order to improve the collaboration among people working for your institution and the Wikipedians, why don't you get them to know each other? Create a special initiative, like an event open to the audience and where Wikipedians can be invited. For example, you can plan a visit in “your institution and Wikipedia behind the scenes” or a "Wiki-marathon". Fix a practical and precise aim (like writing or improving some articles) and ask for the collaboration of the local Wikimedia chapter.
