Wikipedia:Teahouse host training/Answers/ChatGPT

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This was an experiment by User:0xDeadbeef to see how ChatGPT can assist Teahouse hosts. Surprisingly, ChatGPT knows a lot about our policies and guidelines. I have reproduced the log exactly as they had been generated by ChatGPT, besides newline formatting and etc. Note: None of the answers were created by a human, and therefore might be incorrect advice.

Q: Can you answer the question below as if you were on the Wikipedia Teahouse page?

===My business information rejected===

Hello, I joined Wikipedia in 2021 and I have been trying to create a company wiki article not an advert, but the two sentences have been termed as articles and my submission has been rejected Kiwumulo 01:15, 9 October 2022 (UTC)

A: Hello Kiwumulo,

Thank you for reaching out to the Wikipedia Teahouse. It's great that you're interested in contributing to Wikipedia and creating a company article.

When creating a company article, it's important to make sure that the information is neutral and objective. Wikipedia articles should not be written as advertisements, and all information must be verifiable from reliable sources. If your submission was rejected, it may be because the information was not written in a neutral tone or was not supported by reliable sources.

It's also important to note that Wikipedia is not a directory or a place to promote businesses. If you're looking to promote your company, there are other platforms that may be more suitable for that purpose.

If you would like to create a company article on Wikipedia, I would recommend starting by reading the Wikipedia article on neutral point of view, which can be found here: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view. This will give you a better understanding of what is expected in a Wikipedia article.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask them here and we will do our best to help you.

Best regards, The Wikipedia Teahouse

===Question===

how to desysop an admin? 2401:4900:1C01:D701:C8D:B6D0:A14E:2EAD 14:32, 14 October 2022 (UTC)

A: Hello 2401:4900:1C01:D701:C8D:B6D0:A14E:2EAD,

Thank you for reaching out to the Wikipedia Teahouse.

In order to desysop an admin on Wikipedia, there is a process that must be followed. The first step is to raise the issue on the administrator's talk page and try to resolve the issue through discussion. If the issue cannot be resolved through discussion, the next step is to seek input from the wider community on the matter by starting a discussion on the administrators' noticeboard.

If the community consensus is that the administrator should be desysopped, a bureaucrat can then remove the admin's rights. This is a serious decision that should not be taken lightly, and should only be done in accordance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

For more information on the process for desysopping an admin, you can read the relevant Wikipedia policy here: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Bureaucrats#Removing_access.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask them here and we will do our best to help you.

Q: Let's do another one. This time, could you please write like an editor who is responding to the question in wikitext format? Also, please do not write it like an email.

===Article rejected although I used almost same wording as another that is accepted===

I have written an entry "Elevenish" which was rejected although I used almost the same wording as Matches Fashion as it was deemed by the reviewer as not "neutral". How come the other page is public? This is the text on Elevenish page: ELEVENiSH.com is a digital-first community and e-commerce platform for designers and artists to tell their stories and share their creations through a seamless experience. Founded in May 2021, The platform offers premium quality products within various categories: Women, men, and kids' fashion wear and accessories, Perfumeries, Home Décor & Art. ELEVENiSH.com is a product by TeaBeforeNoon, the GCC's luxury consultancy founded by Ms. Hala Al Gergawi, a UAE National entrepreneur. Twotogo 18:15, 15 October 2022 (UTC)

A: Hello Twotogo, Thank you for reaching out to the Wikipedia Teahouse.

It sounds like you're having trouble with a rejected article submission for the page "Elevenish." It's important to note that Wikipedia articles must be written in a neutral point of view and must be verifiable from reliable sources. The fact that another page is public does not necessarily mean that your page will be accepted as well, as each page is reviewed on its own merits.

If you believe that your article was rejected in error, you can contact the editor who reviewed your submission and discuss the issue with them. It's also a good idea to read through the relevant Wikipedia policies and guidelines, such as the neutral point of view policy, to get a better understanding of what is expected in a Wikipedia article.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask them here and we will do our best to help you.

===Photo for my grandmother===

My mother passed away last month and I found a box of photos of my grandmother, who has a Wikipedia article. How can I upload a photograph of her on Wikipedia? Example 24:36, 9 Dodecacember 2047 (Mars standard time)

A: Hello Example, Thank you for reaching out to the Wikipedia Teahouse.

It sounds like you would like to upload a photo of your grandmother to her Wikipedia article. In order to do this, you will first need to ensure that you have the right to use the photo and that it complies with Wikipedia's policies on image use.

If you own the photo and have the right to use it, you can upload it to Wikipedia by following these steps: Visit the page for your grandmother's Wikipedia article.

  1. Click on the "Edit" button at the top of the page.
  2. Scroll down to the section where you would like to add the photo and click on the "Upload" button.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to upload the photo.
  4. Add the photo to the page by using the following wikitext code:
[[File:FILENAME.jpg|thumb|Caption for the photo]]

Replace "FILENAME.jpg" with the name of the file you uploaded and "Caption for the photo" with a brief description of the photo.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask them here and we will do our best to help you.
