Jamais Cascio

This article, which I have been maintaining, was summarily deleted on Nov 22 without explanation or discussion, other than flags implying the subject was self-editing (untrue), and that references were unreliable (debatable: I am taking pains to adhere to Wikipedia reference policy). This has happened before, and I will be approaching Mr Gerard about it in due course. Paysafecard

In November 2014, this article has been deleted after proper discussion and for good reasons. However, the relevance of the company should be clearly established in the meantime (and the article, may it have been bad, has possibly some recyclable content - therefore I ask to undelete it as a draft). Arguments in favour of notability:

  • British former paysafecard competitor Ukash has been confirmed to be notable, and has been merged into paysafecard last year by their mutual purchaser, British e-commerce company Skrill, who preferred paysafecard as the better brand for whatever reasons. Ukash and paysafecard also have gained a lot of mutual web and media attention for the same reasons (Example). It appears inconsistent Ukash to be notable, but paysafecard not notable.
  • Austrian financial newspaper WirtschaftsBlatt has honoured paysafecard as the capital Vienna's leading "Big Player" company in 2015, see report (in German). -KnightMove (talk) 14:13, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
@KnightMove:  Done - restored to Draft:Paysafecard. As I was the deleting admin, please check with me when you think it is ready, and I will decide whether it should go to WP:DRV. The reason why this article for creation was not accepted was "Declining submission: npov - Submission is not written in a formal, neutral encyclopedic tone". I can see the deleted content, and I agree with this assessment. I think I could remedy this.
However, I assert that Yang is a notable artist, and will provide references to support this assertion if required. (I could re-start the article in mainspace myself, but that would simply be the wrong thing to do to my mind. I would be effectively plagiarising the work of the editors of the deleted article.)
I'm not at all technical, so I hope I have pushed the right buttons here. --Shirt58 (talk) 10:00, 16 January 2016 (UTC)

Donald Braswell II

I've only just discovered that the article about Donald Braswell II which I played an integral part in creating has been deleted, without any notification, by just a couple people who decided it should go. No real discussion took place. It is distressing that contributors who have spent countless hours creating something, that seemed to be deemed acceptable, can have it deleted by the whim of so few people. I believe many, if not most, contributors are not wanting permanent jobs watch their articles on Wikipedia nor are experts about Wikipedia. Once an article is finished, we should have confidence that the information will be there. I'm having to relearn how to get around Wikipedia again so no doubt I will do things wrong. I apologize in advance. In this case the proposed deletion was stated due to Donald Braswell not being notable enough. There are many reasons I feel he is notable:

- He is a Juilliard graduate on a full-ride scholarship. - He is a student of the famed Maestro Franco Corelli and Marni Nixon, who provided the singing voice for people such as Deborah Kerr in the The King and I and Natalie Wood in West Side Story. - He won the Liederkranz Foundation Vocal Competition - He received a grant to the The Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation and performed at the Grand Plaza Hotel in New York. - He performed world-wide in opera companies including the Welsh National Opera Company among others. - He overcame an accident that took his voice away for 11 years, despite doctors saying he wouldn't. - He has performed 3 times in Carnegie Hall - He was a 4th place winner of America's Got Talent - He as performed with multiple symphonies - PBS produced and televised a live mini-concert video called "New Beginnings". Diane Bliss was the producer whose other talents include Riverdance, Michael Buble and Daniel O'Donnell. - He has a published biography: http://www.amazon.com/Revival-Tenor-Voice-Found-Calling/dp/1942428626/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453012256&sr=8-1&keywords=Donald+Braswell - He has 4 CDs, the first is New Chapter: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/new-chapter/id287932877 The second is We Fall We Rise Again https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/we-fall-and-we-rise-again/id374454751 The third is Unchained https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/unchained/id470545909 The fourth is https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-travelers-tale/id934600237 - His fourth album was composed and produced by Mark Neidzweidz a platinum disc awarded songwriter/composer, formerly signed to MCA and Universal music. Artists that have recorded/sung his tracks include - Ennio Morricone - LeAnn Rimes - Katherine Jenkins - Matt Dusk - Ronan Keating - international Pop Idols.

Both of his parents were on Broadway and his mother performed multiple times on the Arthur Godfrey Show and won the audience contest. His father has an album. His mother shared a Jack and Jill apartment with Grace Kelly and her best friend was Florence Henderson. She turned down an offer to make movies with MGM. When his mother had to quit due to pregnancy, she was replaced by Julie Andrews. (I created a page for his father and was going to do one for his mother, but the Wikipedia bullies took it down too, saying they weren't notable.)

I'm sure I'm forgetting other accomplishments. Why is Donald Braswell II not notable enough? How much more does a person have to do to qualify? I've certainly seen and enjoyed learning about people on Wikipedia with much less notoriety. If someone is searching for information on some of these, shouldn't Wikipedia have it there, since it wants to be an encyclopedia of everything? For instance, why is it right to have every WWE wrestler listed on Wikipedia. How is it they are so notable?

Please rethink this decision. Thank you, Cherie -Wikiauthenticity (talk) 07:35, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

  • Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Donald Braswell II, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user MBisanz (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. I am willing to restore this as a draft if you think you can improve this. I am talking about Donald Braswell II. The template should just be substituted into the page on the topic if it exists. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:39, 17 January 2016 (UTC)

  • I'd prefer that you start anew. The deleted version was extremely promotional, so much so that it actually comes across like it was taken directly from somewhere else. If it was, then that would violate WP:COPYVIO policies. A question: are you the same person who edited the article under the name A09622? If so, I can send you an e-mail with the content. If not, I'd recommend signing up with an account with an e-mail enabled so I can send you this material. I also have to warn you about editing with a conflict of interest, as you need to be transparent about how you are affiliated with Horgan. IE, if you were asked or paid to create the article, you just need to post this information somewhere. You seem to want to work within policy so I'm not overly worried about the COI, but I do have to warn you about using promotional tones, especially if you're used to working in marketing or repeatedly do PR work, as it's easy to write in a promotional tone without realizing it - this is actually a common issue with marketing people. Medical Tourism Association

It appears that the page that existed for our organization has been deleted back in 2014 for copy-write infringement. We would like to request to undelete the page and/or email the last content to us as a first step so we may recreate a proper wikipedia page for the organization void of any of the previous issues associated with the page. -Benzlerd.mta (talk) 17:11, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

The text of G12'd articles generally isn't given on request, on the grounds that the source is still available to the requestor; likewise G12s are never restored here, especially not unilaterally. I would also like to point out that we don't allow role accounts and that if you are employed by them it's suggested you don't edit about them. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 17:27, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
  • The source of the material was from this version of the official website. This still makes it copyvio since it's still posted on a website that has their material copyrighted. There's actually not that much content in there to be honest, and I'd recommend that you just start from scratch since you'd pretty much have to re-write everything to begin with. It's also possibly outdated, since it was from 2014. If you do want to try making a new article I'd recommend that you only do so via WP:AfC. This won't completely solve the issue of a conflict of interest but it will help ensure that if the article makes it to the mainspace, that it meets guidelines. Something to take into consideration is that it's extremely difficult for organizations to pass notability guidelines since most never gain the type of in-depth coverage necessary to meet WP:NORG. Most of the time their coverage is either a press release (WP:PRIMARY), in passing (WP:TRIVIAL), in places Wikipedia would not consider to be reliable, or routine coverage that cannot show notability. On a side note, while you have posted that you have a COI here, I'd actually recommend posting this on your userpage since that's an easier for people to see and that way you don't have to have people repeatedly asking your COI if they can't see this post here. I saw that you tried to re-submit it before deletion, but because of a coding error that I fixed it didn't work correctly. If you try to submit it again, it should work fine. — Earwig talk 20:46, 19 January 2016 (UTC)

CAA Marketing

Our page was deleted for this reason: 17:34, 12 January 2016 DGG (talk | contribs) deleted page CAA Marketing (ExpiredPROD, concern was: Does not appear to meet GNG or CORP. Possibly merge to parent organization?) We would like to request our page be restored; while we are part of Creative Artists Agency, CAA Marketing is its own organization. People often look at our Wikipedia page to get more information about our group specifically and the work that we do, which the Creative Artists Agency general page does not give them. For example, while CAA the company normally represents talent, CAA Marketing represents brand clients like Coca-Cola, AB-InBev, General Motors, and more. The corporate community is more likely to come to our page specifically rather than the Creative Artists Agency general page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.171.135.189 (talk)

Not done. There is no value to the Wikipedia project in restoring drafts that are nothing more than advertisements. This was far too promotional in tone. You are welcome to start over... and please refrain from touting its "benefits to the community". Wikipedia is not to be used for promotional or publicity purposes, ever. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:18, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

@Cmfb.secretariat: I restored it, but before you do anything else, please go to WP:CHU/Simple and change your username to something that represents only you as an individual. Wikipedia does not allow organizations or roles to have accounts here. Change your username right away before your account is blocked for violating Wikipedia:Username policy. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:25, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Arch Brook

Article was deleted through PROD because "notability not established" (and subsequently redirected), but per policy, named geographical features are considered notable. ---Jakob (talk) aka Jakec 14:34, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Disagree, I personally checked this brook and considered that there was not enough verifiable content to make a decent article, as per WP:GEOLAND. Not all named natural features are notable. The only thing I did find was one mention that suggests that the location was a good spot for a picnic...Jokulhlaup (talk) 16:27, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
Done, because this is a contested PROD, I have restored the history but left the current redirect in place. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:35, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Venford Brook

Like above, was deleted through PROD even though named geographical features are notable. ---Jakob (talk) aka Jakec 14:37, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Again I disagree, yes there are more passing references than the Arch Brook, and there is a nice waterfall. But I don't think there is enough to produce anything much. The Venford Reservoir is probably notable, so it could be included in that if needed...Jokulhlaup (talk) 17:22, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request.
However, I agree with Jokulhlaup that there isn't enough there to warrant a stand-alone article, so after restoring the page history I converted it to a redirect. @Jakec: please consider expanding the parent article instead. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:39, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

  • Piyushratnu, this was extremely promotional, so I'm not going to restore this. I have no problem with sending you a copy, but you will need to re-write it to remove the promotional tone. I note from your userpage (which is extremely promotional to the point where I'm going to delete it via WP:G11) that you're a marketing person, so it's likely that you aren't seeing the promotional language. Because of this and because it's extremely likely that you have a conflict of interest, I'm going to ask that you only create things via WP:AfC from here on out. You also need to be transparent about your COI on your userpage. For example, you should say something like "I work for Cyber Crime Investigation Cell and as a cyber security & digital marketing expert. This account was opened in order to create articles for clients, so a COI should be assumed for any edits under this account name." Then if you have an alternate account that you'll use to make non-COI edits, you can name that and specify that it's for non-COI edits. You absolutely must disclose any COI. • At the same time you cannot set up your user page to be promotional or write it so it looks like an article. These are considered to be unacceptable uses of your userpage. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:50, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Noted with thanks Tokyogirl. Please help me to retone the language, please send me a copy of the page content, so that can refine it, else if you can refine and retune it to make it match Wikipedia guidelines, it will be a great help. Piyush Ratnu

  • DO NOT alter or remove other people's comments. This is very against policy and it looks very, very bad. I've e-mailed you a copy of the article, but I need to stress that if you do things like removing other people's comments it's going to reflect against you poorly. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:12, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
  • Again, do not remove this section or other people's comments in any place other than your userpage. I also note that you are making a new version of your userpage in your sandbox and I cannot tell if this is being done in order to make a new user page or to make an article for the mainspace. In either situation the current format does not fit guidelines for articles or for user pages, as it's very promotional. I've issued this user a final warning about removing content and promotional content. If they make more promotional content or remove comments from other pages, they will be blocked as a not here/promotional editor. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:26, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
