Microsoft Onenote update[edit]

I have an (old - 2016) android phone that has Onenote on it. Onenote has started saying that the app must be updated. However there is no update option within onenote and going to the "Play Store" and searching for "onenote" finds lots of things, but NOT the microsoft program. How do I update onenote please? -- SGBailey (talk) 20:58, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Play Store will hide apps which can't be installed on your device. Onenote is currently listed as requiring minimum Android 9, which was released in 2018. When they say Onenote must be updated, what they mean is buy a newer phone.. -- zzuuzz (talk) 04:42, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Banking website moved the login page.[edit]

My banking website used to be able to have the login username and pass, on the front page. Then, it got moved. Not to "bank".x/login, but,

https:// digital."Bank".x/prgw/digital/login/full-page?AuthRedUrl=https:// oltx."bank".x/ftgw/fbc/ofsummary/defaultPage

So on the front page, 1 must click "Login" to get to the new page. Obviously, this is more work or less convenient to customers, but obviously, must be more convenient for the bank. Any theories why that might be? And why does the login page url have to be so complex? Thanks. 67.165.185.178 (talk) 23:52, 3 October 2022 (UTC).[reply]

If you save the login page URL as a bookmark, then efforts to view the login page are as quick and easy as viewing the home page. The home page usually includes marketing content for visitors and login page can include content targeted for existing customers. A separate login page allows more space to place login related content like Captcha, 2FA etc. manya (talk) 05:27, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Logging in, especially to a financial institution, requires extra security precautions that are not worth implementing on a 'shop window' page that might be intended for all sorts of purposes. It makes sense to handle it on a separate server which can be locked down and used for limited purposes that need the security.
The difference between a 20-character and a 200-character URL is just a setting on the website; I would expect them to have a standard short URL that can be redirected whenever the secure URL is changed. That way, your bookmarked URL never becomes obsolete. But perhaps they don't see it like that. -- Verbarson  talkedits 13:43, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Okay you know what, it turns out does is not the case for on my school computer lab. And trying it in 3 browsers, the login is still on the front page. Whereas on my home laptop, I have to click Login to go to another page. But this is a same bank where 1 time, using Google Chrome, gave message "technical error" whereas if I viewed it on Microsoft Surf, it doesn't get to that error. And reload with Chrome, technical error. Interesting stuff. 67.165.185.178 (talk) 00:00, 6 October 2022 (UTC).[reply]
