Original - Statue of Saint Paul in Damascus, Syria

Attractive statue with good lighting. My last several nominations have bombed spectacularly, so I'd appreciate feedback here before wasting everyone's time.

  • The first observation, without even going beyond thumb, is that the background is very busy and distracting. Statues tend to get a pretty hard time at FPC, so that alone would probably be enough to sink it. --jjron (talk) 13:37, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • So looking at it fullsize, I get the impression that the focus is actually out - it's hard to be totally sure given the nature of the detail and image size, but I think the focus is on that rock wall behind (or perhaps that thin tree) rather than the actual statue. --jjron (talk) 13:40, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
