Wikipedia:Main Page history/2021 April 9
From today's featured articleThe six episodes of the first season of Parks and Recreation originally aired in the United States on the NBC television networks on Thursdays between April 9 and May 14, 2009. The comedy series was created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur, who served as executive producers with Howard Klein. The season stars Amy Poehler (pictured), Rashida Jones, Paul Schneider, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, and Aubrey Plaza, and focuses on Leslie Knope (Poehler), the deputy director of the parks and recreation department of the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. Early test screenings were poor, and many critics and industry observers were skeptical about the show's chances of success. The premiere episode was watched by 6.77 million viewers, but the ratings declined to a season low of 4.25 million viewers for the final episode, "Rock Show". Even so, "Rock Show" received the best reviews of the season and convinced some critics that the series had found the right tone. (Full article...)

There are sixteen World Heritage Sites in Poland, fifteen of which are cultural sites, and one of which, the Białowieża Forest, is a natural site. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Sites are places of importance to cultural or natural heritage as described in the UNESCO World Heritage Convention, established in 1972. Poland acceded to the convention on 29 June 1976, making its historical sites eligible for inclusion on the list. The first two Polish sites inscribed on the World Heritage List were the Wieliczka Salt Mine and the Historic Centre of Kraków (pictured) in 1978. The most recent addition to the list is the Krzemionki Prehistoric Striped Flint Mining Region, listed in 2019. Three of the sites are transnational. (Full list...)
