Raymond Robert Emery (1982–2018) was a Canadian ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 11 seasons. Chosen 99th overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, he helped them reach the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals, the first appearance in the finals by the modern Senators. With Emery, the Chicago Blackhawks won the 2013 Stanley Cup championship. He won, among numerous other awards and accolades, the William M. Jennings Trophy in April 2013 along with teammate Corey Crawford for giving up the fewest goals in the season. Emery finished the 2012–13 season with 1.94 goals against average and a 0.922 save percentage. His 17 wins included 12 straight to start the year, the best such streak in NHL history. He was a two-time Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy finalist for his dedication and perseverance. His teammates and fans often referred to him as "Razor" or "Sugar Ray" for his aggressive playing style. 1729 – Natchez Indians revolted against French colonists near modern-day Natchez, Mississippi, killing over 240 people.
1807 – Peninsular War: Maria I of Portugal, the Braganza royal family and its court of nearly 15,000 people departed Lisbon for the colony of Brazil just days before French forces invaded the city.
1890 – The National Diet of Japan (pictured in session), a bicameral legislature modelled after both the German Reichstag and the British Westminster system, first met in Tokyo.
1963 – Five minutes after taking off from Montreal, Trans-Canada Air Lines Flight 831 crashed in bad weather, killing all 118 people on board.

Saif Ali Khan

Indian actor Saif Ali Khan works in Hindi films. He made his debut with a leading role in the drama Parampara (1993) and then starred in Aashik Awara (1993). The latter earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, but failed to do well commercially, as did his next three releases–Parampara (1993), Pehchaan (1993), and Imtihaan (1994). Later in 1994, Khan played supporting roles alongside Akshay Kumar in two of the highest-grossing films of the year–the romance Yeh Dillagi and the action drama Main Khiladi Tu Anari. For his performance in the latter, he received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. This success was followed by a series of commercial failures, leading to a setback in Khan's career. Khan played the second male lead behind Ajay Devgn in Milan Luthria's action thriller Kachche Dhaage (1999) which was his first commercial success since Main Khiladi Tu Anari; it also earned him another nomination for Best Supporting Actor at Filmfare. Mitra stictica, commonly known as the pontifical mitre, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Mitridae. This species is found in the tropical Indian and Pacific Oceans and may reach 87 mm (3.4 in) in length. Mitre shells are so-called because their shape resembles that of a mitre, the ceremonial head-dress of bishops in the Christian church. They are predators, using a long toothed radula to feed on worms and molluscs.
