An anonymous editor and I have been arguing whether some sources concerning the CIA's possible involvement with Saddam Hussein's assassination attempt on Abd al-Karim Qasim and also whether the CIA/Americans were also involved in the coup which overthrew him. I am not an expert on the subject, but I don't want a potential historical fact to be overlooked because someone doesn't like the sources (or possibly what they say). Could someone with more knowledge please also monitor this page and provide some extra guidance, or better still impeccable sources one way or the other. Thank you. If you happen to stumble upon this page, help us complete Al-Najaf FC, the arabic article has alot of information, so if you can simply translate it that would be fine
On the Arabic Wikipedia exists an article for Evan Faiq Yacoub, an Assyrian politician affiliated with the Babylon Brigade. If anyone could start working on an English version of this article, that would be amazing. Unfortunately, my Iraqi dialect of Arabic is not that great, so I'm not able to write or speak it.
The purposes and objectives of this department are to:
Refine and maintain the List of basic Iraq topics, a key guide on Wikipedia to Iraq as a subject. It serves as a table of contents, summary, and topic outline of coverage on the country Iraq and is the most useful tool on Wikipedia for exploring and understanding fundamental material about Iraq (and how it fits together) on Wikipedia. Its purpose is an important one: it simply enables readers to see at a glance how the subject of Iraq is broken down, what the component topics are, and how they relate to each other - that is, how information on Iraq is organized (here, and in the world-at-large). It is a site map and outline of knowledge that demystifies the subject known as "Iraq". Because of its central role in the presentation of Wikipedia's coverage of this subject, it is very important to develop and maintain it to the highest level of quality: to help readers improve their conceptual awareness and understanding of Iraq as well as find their way around this subject on Wikipedia. For examples of other pages in this set, see List of basic France topics, List of basic Thailand topics, List of basic Japan topics, List of basic Taiwan topics, and List of basic Iceland topics, all of which are currently completed to a higher level of quality than this page. In other words, it's getting its ass kicked: the List of basic Iraq topics is incomplete, needs your editing contributions, and is especially in need of maps and pictures!
Refine and maintain Category:Iraq and its subcategories.
The assessment department will focus on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's Iraq related articles. This will aid us in recognising excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.
The Iraq Collaboration of the Fortnight seeks to identify particular articles that would benefit from a significant collaborative effort. Every fortnight, a single article is selected as the focus, and the project attempts to improve it.
Any articles dealing with some aspect of Iraq are eligible, and everyone is invited to nominate articles and help improve it.
The outreach department acts as the project's central point of coordination for recruiting new members and maintaining the interest of current participants. We aim to invite new Wikipedia contributors who recently edited an Iraq related article to join the project.
The photography department aims to provide a collection of high-quality photographs and images for use in Iraq articles. These may be self-taken or obtained with permission from online sources.
The following Iraq-related content has received recognition from the Wikipedia community.
