[edit]Userboxe not going to correct location (Editing/Potential CSS issue?)
[edit]Hello! I was trying to create my user page, but the English box won't move to be directly below the Korean box. Could someone help me fix this? Thank you!

- If you want to put your userboxes into a column, try surrounding them with {{userboxtop}} and {{userboxbottom}}. --David Biddulph (talk) 02:28, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
Citations: are they supposed to link to the place of publication?
[edit]Hello! There are over 900 articles on Wikipedia that cite publications by Collector's Guide Publishing. Each of the references includes a link to Burlington, Ontario, meaning that its WhatLinksHere is overwhelmed.
I see minimal issue with the author or publisher being linked to, but are the place of publication supposed to be? I was going to try and create a List of people from Burlington, Ontario, but there's just such a high noise ratio. -- Zanimum (talk) 03:43, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Zanimum: I don't know a guideline against the links but you may be interested in User:PrimeHunter/Source links.js. On Burlington, Ontario it produces Source links. PrimeHunter (talk) 04:14, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

- @시험공부바이바이 Interwiki like are easy if you know the inter wiki code. It is also always best to copy the article name from the target wiki. You are very welcome. FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 11:32, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

"PRINT <"P">"
[edit]Does PRINT <"P">
have a particular function in MediaWiki markup? It was added to Proxima Centauri b here and I am not sure if it serves a purpose or is just vandalism. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 11:49, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Jo-Jo Eumerus: It serves no purpose and should be reverted. I don't know whether it was vandalism or a misguided attempt to do something unknown. PrimeHunter (talk) 11:58, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Seems like another editor dealt with it. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 16:07, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
About MobileUndo
[edit]I brought the code of mobileundo. Code is here. But MobileUndo doesn't work. What happened? KeySpace / Talk 13:58, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @DannyS712: I think you know how to solve this problem, so I'm ping. If you are not familiar with this matter, I'm sorry. KeySpace / Talk 14:02, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not maintaining that script anymore, but in this case I think the issue is the "adding:" line you have in your code that isn't a comment DannyS712 (talk) 20:49, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- How do I handle the 'adding:' part? KeySpace / Talk 23:27, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Redirecting talk page of existing article
[edit]Sorry, maybe a stupid question as it would not be done in my home wiki, but is it an accepted procedure to have a talk page redirected while the article exists? More precise, is Talk:BMI_Healthcare (or better here: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Talk:BMI_Healthcare&redirect=no ) expected behavior or something that needs fixing? --Fano (talk) 14:52, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Taking a look at that, it appears that for whatever reason, the talk page of BMI health care redirects to General Healthcare Group, however BMI Health Care and General Healthcare Group are (currently) 2 separate articles. I don't see any logical reason to have the talk page, redirect to a completely separate page (even if GHG owns BMI). ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 14:58, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- INterestingly, GHG is said to be the owner of BMI, however in the history section it talks about BMI as if it were the same company. I'm a bit confused as well now. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:00, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- The quality and how up to date the two artikes are is also a interesting question, but I found the talk page construct particular odd.--Fano (talk) 15:05, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Fano: I agree. It's rather confusing already since I can't tell if GHG is a separate company from BMI or if GHG is BMI before they renamed themselves to BMI. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:08, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

@Fano: @Blaze Wolf: the article history often explains this kind of problem. I hope the summary below makes sense
- 11 June 2007 BMI Healthcare article created
- 17 May 2011 BMI Healthcare article (and talk page) moved to General Healthcare Group over redirect
- 4 March 2014 BMI Healthcare redirect converted into an article, talk page blanked but then reverted to redirect
- 27 January
20142021 BMI Healthcare talk page created by myself. TSventon (talk) 15:33, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @TSventon: That does indeed help, although it is messy. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:36, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Blaze Wolf:, yes it is messy, perhaps the articles could be merged if somebody wanted to investigate further. User:SP.Black seems to have been a single puropse account, which recreated BMI, redirected the GHG article to the BMI article (later reverted), made enough edits to be autoconfirmed, uploaded the BMI logo and then stopped editing. TSventon (talk) 16:03, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @TSventon: I might do that later if I'm feeling up to it. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:05, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks! Must have been blind not seing the move. But in a nutshell it explains and answers how it happend and that it is not how it should be. --Fano (talk) 03:14, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

allegations need to be addressed
[edit]Apparently wikipedia has been called out as denying actual facts from being included in comments .[citation needed] You need to address this .[citation needed] I think as a user this is awful and dangerous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.18.15.212 (talk) 18:59, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Disambiguation pages for lowercase/capital letters
[edit]I was surprised to find Nimr (disambiguation) and NIMR (disambiguation). I thought it is standard to use unified disambiguation pages for all lowercase/capital letters variations in the English Wikipedia. Is this correct as-is? Why / Why not? --KnightMove (talk) 22:06, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- AFAIK, there's no real guideline. I generally merge them if they're this small; also, there are some unacceptable entries in Nimr. I'll get around to it later if you don't. Clarityfiend (talk) 23:03, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
Possile copyright violation?
[edit]While writing the German article for New Century Theatre I stumbled upon this page [1] with exactly the same text. The creator of the wiki-article has been blocked for copyright infringement and the HTML of the webpage seems fairly old so I'm leaning towards the webpage beeing the original.
Since I don't know nothing about the workings of en.wp (and frankly don't have time to learn) I just leave this here in case it interests somebody. --Scantasyundfiencefiction (talk) 22:38, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Columns
[edit]In Steelton-Highspire School District, I'm trying to have columns with both a specified column break and a specified width. The article had been using {{col-begin}}, which was causing the two columns to each be 1/2 the page with, forcing it to start under the infobox leaving a big block of white space. I changed it to {{col-float}}, which helped (the white space is gone, but the columns are still too wide and the depending on the page width the layout is still inconsistent). I know with {{div-col}}, you can specify a width but you the breaks are completely dynamic. This article has column headings, so the breaks have to be in a certain place. It there a way to do this without converting to a table? MB 23:41, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
