Is this website is suitable for reliability?

[edit]

I want to know like this website reliability. It seems has information about celebrity personal life and professional career whenever you search. The Supermind (talk) 08:11, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Supermind You might try the reliable sources noticeboard for this sort of discussion. 331dot (talk) 08:12, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I had a look at https://www.datingcelebs.com/ and the answer is no, it doesn't look reliable by a wide margin.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 08:19, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Without actually looking at the site, my rule of thumb is that any website with "celeb" in the url is very unlikely to be WP:RS. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:57, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How to make article entitle as "Maniklal Sinha" de-orphan ?

[edit]

This article is an orphan, as no other articles. some reviewer says and tag it as orphan. As per there report there is no incoming link in that time. But right now there are more than 3 links so please cheek it whether it is still orphan or not. And also guide me. Srikrishna1960 (talk) 09:45, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Srikirshna1960. I have removed the tag, as there are indeed now incoming links. There was a link (Learn how and when to remove these template messages) that you could have followed to find out how to remove it yourself. ColinFine (talk) 10:06, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Text Revision of en.Wikipedia's "No. 25 Squadron RAAF" Website $ Uploading of 2 Photos

[edit]

To Wikipedia Help Desk with cc’s to Ruthven, Yann and Nick-D “Talk” pages

Hi Wiki Help Desk

1. I have placed a proposed revision of the text of en.Wikipedia’s No. 25 Squadron RAAF website with supporting additional footnotes in Wiki’s format onto the webpage’s “Talk” section.

For convenience the text’s revised sections are underlined.

2. As suggested by Wiki Commons Information Team Member JJ Clark by email on 18 Aug I have also re-uploaded 2 over 50 year-old RAAF photos onto en.Wikipedia’s No. 25 Squadron RAAF website using jpeg files and the {{PD-AustraliaGov}} template, being

([[File:No. 25Squadron B-24 Liberator over Netherlands East Indies (aka the DEI - now Indonesia) cMarch-August 1945.jpg|thumb|No. 25Squadron B-24 Liberator over Netherlands East Indies (aka the DEI - now Indonesia) cMarch-August 1945]] and

[[File:25SQNPhotoatRAAFDarwinCampJune1967withC130A Hercules transport aircraft.jpg|25SQNPhotoatRAAFDarwinCampJune1967withC130A Hercules transport aircraft]]

As a not too computer literate, nearly 80 year-old ‘user’ I hope not to invoke any further Wikis censures or deletions so request any advice or comment you or any Wiki adminstrators’ (including the 3 receiving cc’s of this email on their “Talk” pages) are willing to offer about the acceptability/suitability of 1. and  2. above is requested and would be appreciated.

[edit]
Trolling nonsense
Hello, I am a lawyer of the anonymous editor who has been editing the pages Multiverse, Data, Atomism, Quantum theory, David Popovici and many, many, many others. I am editing through the official Romania lawsuit firm located in Bucharest and I want to compromise the best place and time where this lawsuit can take place, i.e. the court. If you have any questions, contact me at (Redacted). Legal Federation & Supreme Court of Bucharest, Romania (talk) 10:55, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot to say my name is Michael McBobguard. You can call me Mike. Legal Federation & Supreme Court of Bucharest, Romania (talk) 10:56, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The user was given suggestions on how to change their username on their talk page. Shouldn't they be soft-blocked? 71.228.112.175 (talk) 04:52, 23 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, they aren't blocked for their username they are blocked for obvious trolling. Lavalizard101 (talk) 09:38, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Db-R2

[edit]

Urm, why has this hapenned here. Can I not put a Db-R2 on a draft, it fits the criteria, it should not exist, right? N1TH Music (talk) 16:10, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@N1TH Music: Template:Db-r2 is only for use on articles. See Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#R2. A redirect "from X to Y" means that page X contains the redirect and clicking on X takes you to page Y. When a draft is moved to an article, a redirect is automatically left behind and not subject to speedy deletion. PrimeHunter (talk) 17:02, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) @N1TH Music: Hi there! {{Db-R2}} states "This template may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion as a redirect from the main/article space..." (emphasis added). Your draft is a redirect from the draftspace to the main/article space. GoingBatty (talk) 17:04, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Translation of "Peren-Theorem" into English

[edit]

Hello, I have just registered for Wikipedia, so everything is kind of new to me. I would like to translate the existing German article "Peren-Thereom" into English. I'vre read a few guidelines, but couldn't manage to find the right approach. Which steps do I have to make in order to succeed with the translation? I have already written the the English text. Thanks in advance. Nawouzy (talk) 17:13, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Nawouzy: Hi there! Have you read Wikipedia:Translation and tried the Wikipedia:Content translation tool? You can also try the process at Help:Your first article. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 17:16, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think the Content Translation tool is available to new editors, GoingBatty.
Welcome, Nawouzy. The thing about translating an article from another Wikipedia is that it is not necessarily much easier than writing one from scratch, because you often still have to do the unseen 90% of the work which is finding the appropriate sources to establish that the subject meets English Wikipedia's criteria for notability. Sometimes the sources are already there, particularly on a strict edition such as the German Wikipedia; but in this case, I'm afraid that de:Peren-Theorem does not have a single independent source. Wikipedia is not interested in what the subject of an article says or wants to say about themselves, or what their associates say about them. Wikipedia is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject, and who have not been prompted or fed information on behalf of the subject, have chosen to publish about the subject in reliable sources.
This means that you would need to start by finding several articles or books, not by Peren or his associates, which discuss his theorem. If you can find some, then an article may be possible - but it should be based almost entirely on those indepndent sources, not directly on Peren's work; so I'm not sure that the de-wiki article would be of much help, though you could certainly use the text if it is appropriate (attributing it as required). Cascade-protected with edit button

[edit]

After finding an error in the OTD section of the Main Page, I went looking for the history of the page where the error exists and ended up reaching Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/August 21. No surprise, it's cascade protected, so I can't edit it. Why, then, does the page have a normal "edit" button instead of the "view source" button that generally appears on protected pages? At first I figured an administrator had forgotten to protect it, leaving a Main Page component vulnerable to vandalism. 49.198.51.54 (talk) 22:07, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is phab:T13700. According to Robchurch, former developer of the software: checking cascade protection status is quite an expensive operation, so we avoid doing it when it's not needed, i.e. on page views - when the edit operation commences, we do a full check. * Pppery * it has begun... 23:00, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, the "Edit" button and "View source" button go to the same url with action=edit. When the edit operation commences, the software doesn't care what the button said, or whether a button was used. It only cares whether you have permission to edit the page.
