Please don't move EPs to the singles section
[edit]Hello. Regarding your edits late last year to Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds discography, please do not move EPs out of the correct section and conflate them with singles. Singles can be released separately from EPs as well. If the EP charted on the UK physical singles chart, then the correct thing to do would be to add the UK physical singles chart as a column in the EPs section, not to move the EPs incorrectly. Thank you. Ss112 07:21, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Ss112 But these “EPs” have 2-4 tracks on them which means the count as a single. By comparison earlier when Noel was in Oasis the singles had 4 tracks, the only difference is that those singles are named after the opening track, by all means Wait and Return for example is a single. The problem with lumping all these EPs in one chart is that some are eligible on the singles charts and others on the Albums chart. It’d be very confusing if one column refers to the Uk physical Singles Chart and the EP directly above it was charting on the Uk Albums chart. N1TH Music (talk) 08:24, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Aaron's Hill (disambiguation)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Aaron's Hill (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Steel1943 (talk) 00:15, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Eitermillen
[edit]Hello N1TH Music,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Eitermillen for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.
If you don't want Eitermillen to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Contern
[edit]Thank you so much, N1TH Music, for your highly informative article on Contern. You have included an impressive amount of detail, making it far more useful than the other language versions. I know Contern well as one of my daughters lives there. The article seems to me to be a good candidate for GA. Please keep me informed of your development of other articles about Luxembourg.--Ipigott (talk) 17:08, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Ipigott I greatly appreciate the support, however it's important to note in spite of how detailed the article already is, I'm still far from being finished (The sheer number of sources and information available was completely unprecedented when I started this article) Also I wouldn't nominate it for GA just yet, while the bulk of the information was written this year, some of it I added 2 years ago and needs some copy editing as I wasn't such a good editor back then to say the least. As for what else I'll do about articles in Luxembourg, well I'm mostly fixated on Contern at the moment, I decided focussing on one specific article would be best for me improving my writing and getting a better grasp on wikipedia's features. Why did I select Contern? Well because I live here therefore obtaining photography is significantly easier. N1TH Music (talk) 19:32, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your explanations. As you can see from my user page, a few years ago I spent quite a bit of my editing time on helping to bring articles on Danish cities up to GA standard. I therefore have a pretty good idea of what's entailed. I had noticed a few of the details were dated and am pleased to hear you intend to bring them up to date. I could continue copy-editing if you think it's useful at this stage. Up to now, there have been only nine GA-rated Luxembourg articles, mostly on the winter olympics. It would therefore be good to have one related to places in Luxembourg too. So if you need assistance with any particular details, just let me know. And please continue to work on your planned improvements. There's certainly no rush.--Ipigott (talk) 11:02, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Ipigott Well there's one thing that I could do with some help with in the Contern article in the Geography section there's a table of all the rivers and streams that run through the commune, I've made templates for each which have since been nominated for deletion under WP:INDISCRIMINATE while I agree that Template:Gaardebaach and Template are overdoing it a little as they are very small brooks with very little information available well anywhere about them. I think the rest of the templates are useful both within the Contern article and potentially within their own article such is the case with Template:Trudlerbaach albeit they could do with some cleanup and making them more streamlined. My point is the discussion is at a dead end at the moment with nobody other that the nominator and myself commenting on the discussion so perhaps you could share your thoughts, thanks. N1TH Music (talk) 11:36, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- I think a compromise at this stage would simply be to add the names of the rivers and streams in running text, especially as there are no EN articles about most of them. One of my basic principles in editing Wikipedia is to avoid confrontation. As things progress, it may be possible to include some of them in List of rivers of Luxembourg.--Ipigott (talk) 16:37, 16 November 2024 (UTC)

Recommendations for future work
[edit]After going through the article for copy editing, I must say I am really impressed with the amount of detail you have included. In addition to your efforts to bring the article up to date, there is a need for more citations (each paragraph or section should have at least one), if possible based on sources which are accepted as reliable. In addition, I think the main image could be improved. How about a picture of the main street in Contern? As for the content, as my daughter runs the café opposite the station in Oetrange, I certainly think it would be useful to cover some of the restaurants and cafés in the area. Ma Langue Sourit in Oetrange has two Michelin stars and there are certainly others worth mentioning. I won't bother you with any further edits to the article for the time being but please drop me a line if you think I can help you further. I could also help out with citations but only if you have difficulties yourself. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 16:09, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Ipigott Thanks for the help, my friend has a drone we were thinking of taking an Arial photo of the view from the water tower for the main image and I would add an image of the main street in the history section to show the distinction between the modern and older buildings on it. Or perhaps I could use multiple images similar to what you'd find on articles like London. As for restaurants I'm not exactly sure what to add because I don't want to add too much to the point where it seems straight out of Wikivoyage. Also in the history section I see you changed "Moulin de Milbech" into the Milbech Mill but actually "Moulin de Milbech is the official term for a separate locality similar to how you'd say "Brichermillen" not Bricher mill so I think it's best I change that back. N1TH Music (talk) 18:13, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- I wouldn't overdo it with multiple images but something a bit brighter would be better. As for restaurants, you could perhaps expand the Shopping section a bit without going into details. I've restored Moulin de Milbech.--Ipigott (talk) 18:36, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
