Ref number 3 would easily suffice for the "citations needed' which are in the lead of this article. But ref 3 at the moment (an official UK Government site) is down. Hey there. I presume you mean what is now ref number 4, as that's the official government site and used to be ref number 3. If so, then yeah, it looks like the link doesn't work anymore; however, using archive.org, I found an archive for the URL. I have now added the archived link to the article using the archive-url and archive-date parameters of {{cite web}}, although I'll leave you or someone else to deal with the citation needed tags as I'm not familiar with the subject nor the article. In the future, it's fairly easy to find and add these archives yourself; just go to the URL I linked, search for the dead URL, and see what there is. You set the access date to the future (year 2190). WelpThatWorked fixed it for you. I suggest you take the time to proofread your edits and use the preview button before committing, and if you do create an error, please work to fix it yourself since you have made this error before. Speedy Deletion of MOGUL.sg page due to 'copyright infringement'

Hi there,

This is pertaining to my press release that was sent from my company- MOGUL.sg and used on my reference page which was cited in my article. As the press release belongs to MOGUL.sg, and was seeded out to all media and partners, why is it deleted under copyright infringement if the source was from MOGUL.sg? Please let me know how will I be able to put up information on MOGUL.sg? Do I need an email stating that GeoWorks has used the press release on their website? or?

Please advise.

See WP:DCM for donating copyrighted material, but press releases are not good sources since they are not independent of the company. See WP:RS. Note that as a company employee you have a conflict of interest in writing about your own company. Please read WP:COI. You may also need to comply with WP:PAID. @Frederickyao77: Another problem with press releases is that they are almost always promotional; it is the purpose of a press release to promote the issuer. But Wikipedia does not tolerate promotional content. Desuperscripting

Hi Leaderboard. At Central Board of Secondary Education, PkbwcgsBot changed "Top 1/8th of passed students" to "Top 1/8th of passed students". That seems to me a clear improvement — I read "1/8th" as "one eighth", but "1/8th" just looks weird, maybe "one eighthth". Maproom (talk) 07:57, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Leaderboard: I suspect the bot was trying to apply MOS:ORDINAL, changing "8th" to "8th". A bit further down that page, though, is MOS:FRAC, "Ordinal suffixes such as -th should not be used with fractions expressed in figures" -- John of Reading (talk) 08:05, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Leaderboard, to answer your second question: "8th" (superscripted or not) is "eighth", "1/8" is "one eighth", so "1/8th" (superscripted or not) is "one eighthth", which is in my view wrong with or without the superscripting. Can't edit

I'm new at this. A couple of weeks ago I edited an article. Now I log in to do more and I don't see the pencil icon for edit or the edit tab ANYWHERE. @RoeSmithJr: Well, it depends on whether you're on mobile view or desktop view. Is the base URL you are at when you can't find the pencil icon wiki.riteme.site or en.m.wikipedia.org? Hi Skymoonfang; where exactly are these messages? I took a look at your talk page and filter log and I'm not seeing anything. Are you using a different account or are these messages in some other place? The latter still seems unlikely as your first edit here was this post to the help desk. @Skymoonfang: Do you get those messages when viewing Wikipedia not logged-in? Possibly you use a shared IP address (for example, if you access Internet through a school or company's proxy server)? May be some other anonymous user, who works from the same IP address, made inacceptable edits in Wikipedia, and now you both see messages referring to that bad behaviour... Then the cure is to always use Wikipedia when logged-in so your contributions is always assigned to your user account. --CiaPan (talk) 08:58, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Trying to edit content on the Wikipedia pages I get the following message...

@Eshuk: You are likely using a proxy that is free and anyone can use. These were commonly used for evading blocks in the past, and so were blocked. Just turn off your Proxy/VPN. WelpThatWorked (talk) 15:10, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can I search for an edit summary?

Earlier today an editor made a change to an article and I wasn't sure if it was correct or not, so put to the back of my mind to check it later. I've done so, and think it was an unintended error - so have come back to revert but now can't remember the article, nor does the edit summary appear in my watchlist. Obviously it has been edited again since this morning.

Can I search using a keyword that I know appeared in the edit summary to try and track it down? Chaheel Riens (talk) 16:31, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Chaheel Riens: If you saw the edit summary in your watchlist earlier today, but can't see it now, you could try ticking "Expand watchlist to show all changes, not just the most recent" in your preferences (Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-watchlist) and then redisplaying your watchlist. I don't know how to search for an edit summary in the general case where you don't know the name of the article or the editor. -- John of Reading (talk) 16:43, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Ralph Allen - Canadian Artist

I am hoping to add an article on Ralph Allen, a Canadian Artist... he is 93 years old. He does not seem to listed in the Wikipedia pages.

I have set up an account and loaded various links to support the page.

The issue is, I don't really know what I am doing.

Please let me know if I am doing something wrong.

@Brian Coughtrey: Hi, Brian. The very first step is to assure yourself that the artist is notable by our definition. Please see WP:NOTABLE. If you can find the reliable sources needed to establish notability, then rest assured that we can and will help you get the article into Wikipedia by any of several methods. If you cannot establish notabiliy, then no amount of effort on your part or anyone else's can cause an article to remain in Wikipedia: you will be frustrated and you will make of extra work for us. Now, if you do find those reliable sources to establish notability, then please read WP:YFA.
