[edit]Please change "Nimble storage" page title to "Nimble Storage"

My name is Michael Kieran, and I work in the Marketing department at Nimble Storage in San Jose, CA.
The current page for our company is titled "Nimble storage" with a lower-case "s" in the second word. However, the company name is actually "Nimble Storage" (both words with initial caps). I wasn't able to edit the page title. Is this something you can help with? Thanks so much, Michael

- Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This company doesn't appear to meet our criteria for 'notability' and the citations also appear to be no more than just Advertorial's. Perhaps we should AfD this article. Any comments?--Aspro (talk) 00:53, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
- Nah, the article's a piece of crap, but as a subject matter the company seems notable enough for an article. Deletion is not cleanup, and all this needs is some bleach and a good wire brush. --Jayron32 04:13, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
User:Drajay1976
[edit]Hello, I use this user id Drajay1976 in Malayalam Wikpedia, Wikimedia Commons and other wikipedias. I am most active in Malayalam wikipedia.
I am unable to use the same id in English wikipedia because that was already taken. It is possible that I had created this id sometime back when I was a novice. I dont remember the password now. I have used the password retrieval system, but it seems that the email id linked to this account is not active anymore (frankly, I dont remember what ID it was). It will be a whole lot easier for me if I am allowed to use the same id in English Languate Wikipedia as well. Problem with syntax

- I've copied that to User:John of Reading/X2. Observe that the only displayed label is "2012.16", which is 29/02/2012 expressed as a decimal number of years. I think you've run into the limitation described at Help:EasyTimeline syntax#TimeAxis, "Currently only format yyyy (default) is supported. More formats may follow."

Eliott Goblet
[edit]Hi Guys,
When doing a google search of Elliot Goblet a photo comes up on the right of the page with a date of birth and other details and a Wikipedia link. As the date of birth is inaccurate due to Elliot Goblet being a fictional character therefore not having a date of birth. When I signed on to Wikipedia to fix this it doesn't come up on the actual page. How can I get rid of the date of birth please?

Persistent Vadalism

- Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism is the place to start, just follow the instructions there. You might also be interested in looking Wikipedia:Twinkle, a set of scripts that speeds up processes like reporting vandalism. Do remember the definitions of vandalism, though - it has to be intended to harm the project. --Shirt58 (talk) 09:04, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
- This is not what's usually referred to as persistent vandalism, and the IP in question does not have a history of vandalism either. The usual step at this point would be to post on their talk page and try to engage in a discussion.
- I looked at the link in question. I would classify it as unreliable—it baldly states that its information is “a little Googling”, and gives no specifics. If Playboy actually published this, you should be able to find a better citation. If you can't, I think that's more than adequate reason to remove it. Kerfuffler (talk) 09:07, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

Printing a section

- This feature isn't built in, as far as I know, but you should get good results if you copy the section into your favourite word processor. -- John of Reading (talk) 15:12, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
- In some browsers (such as Firefox) you can select the section and print it directly by selecting "Selection" in the printer dialog. jonkerz ♠talk 15:18, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
- I don't think this is so easy on a PC (not sure), but on a mac: ⌘ Cmd+⇧ Shift+4, hold down the mouse and drag over the section you want to print; release and a screenshot is taken of the section you've designated; print.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:03, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
- If you have OneNote, the same screenshot result can be achieved with the use of ⊞ Win+S (or if you're using a Mac keyboard ⌘ Cmd+S). Editing question re page title
[edit]I would appreciate help in making the following change:
Currently, there is a wiki page entitled "Buccaneer 18" and I would like to change it to simply Buccaneer or Buccaneer (dinghy) i.e. the name referenced to a dinghy sailboat catetgory.
I would appreciate any assistance that can be provided.

- A move to "Buccaneer" will not be possible, as there is already an article Buccaneer, about pirates. But a move to "Buccaneer_(dinghy)" should be possible. Maproom (talk) 17:39, 7 September 2012 (UTC)
Thanks to all. I will move the page to 'Buccaneer_(dinghy)' but will need to wait a day or two for the four day qualification. I will check back early next week and make the change then. Basically, the name for the boat does not and never has included the number 18 other than by some users in the recent past. Also, it is interesting that when you enter simply Buccaneer in the search line for wikipedia, the option of "Buccaneer 18" is not one of the options in the dropdown menue since, i suppose, it is in the server only as the complete string. I would like to change the title in such a way that when you search the topic of "Buccaneer", you then find this page in the drop down list as "Buccaneer (dinghy)". When I make the change to "Buccaneer (dinghy)" then it does not show up in the drop-down menu. Can someone please help me find a was to sub-categorize for the parenthetical identifier.
A big error on the page about nomads

In the paragraph called "Origins" the last sentence claims the pastoral nomads were responsible for the boston tea party. I am certain this must be an error. But I don't feel comfortable editing this.

- Since the article is deleted, I can't see what the claim was. But as a general note, articles are usually deleted because they are uninformative, about non-notable topics, or contain blatantly false information. If a deleted Wikipedia article is your only source for a piece of information, don't take it seriously. Kerfuffler (talk) 17:54, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

Infobox historical event
[edit]I have made an infobox on a historical event, but there is an annoying "Thumtime=" when the pointer goes over the photo. There is no video for the event, however the infobox does not recognize this. How can this be stopped? Cmguy777 (talk) 22:59, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

- It actually said "thumbtime=" as the image to the right (if you have Navigation popups enabled then it may hide the mouseover). It affected all pages using {{Infobox historical event}} without a Thumb_Time parameter. I have fixed the infobox.[5] It wasn't elegant to duplicate most of the image code but I couldn't find another way. PrimeHunter (talk) 12:38, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
