Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates
Featured and good topics in Wikipedia ![]() ![]() A featured topic (FT) is a collection of inter-related articles in which at least half are featured articles or featured lists. The remaining articles must be at least good quality. A good topic (GT) is a collection of inter-related articles that are of a good quality (though are not necessarily featured articles) with a less stringent quality threshold than a featured topic. This page is for the nomination of potential featured and good topics. See the featured and good topic criteria for criteria on both types of topic. Before nominating a topic, nominators may wish to receive feedback by listing it at the Featured and good topics talk page. Nominators must be sufficiently familiar with the subject matter and sources to deal with objections during the FTC/GTC process. If you nominate something you have worked on, note it as a self-nomination. Nominators who are not significant contributors to the articles of the topic should consult regular editors of the articles prior to nomination. Nominators are expected to respond positively to constructive criticism and to make an effort to address objections promptly. The featured and good topics coordinators Aza24, MaranoFan and Kyle Peake determine the timing of the process for each nomination. For a nomination to be promoted to FT or GT status, consensus must be reached for a group to be promoted to featured or good topic status. If enough time passes without objections being resolved, nominations will be removed from the candidates topic and archived. To contact the FGTC coordinators, please leave a message on the FGTC talk page, or use the {{@FGTC}} notification template elsewhere. You may want to check previous archived nominations first: |

Nomination procedure[edit]To create a new nomination use the form below (e.g., Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Saffron/archive1) and click the "Create new nomination" button. Once the nomination page is created, remember to transclude it in the appropriate section below, to leave nomination templates on the talk pages of the articles nominated for the topic. For detailed instructions on how to nominate topics or add articles to existing topics, see Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Nomination procedure. Supporting and objecting[edit]Please review all the articles of the nominated topic with the featured and good topic criteria in mind before deciding to support or oppose a nomination.
For a topic to be promoted to featured or good topic status, consensus must be reached that it meets the criteria. The FGTC coordinators are usually the ones to assess this consensus and close FGTC discussions. If there is a consensus to promote, the promote instructions are located here. If enough time passes without objections being resolved (at least one week), nominations will be removed from the candidates list and archived. Nominations will stay here for ten days if there is unanimous consent, or longer if warranted by debate. |

[edit]Line of Duty is a British police procedural and serial drama created by Jed Mercurio for the British Broadcasting Corporation. The series revolves around Anti-Corruption Unit 12, a team of officers tasked with "policing the police". Over the course of the programme, AC-12 investigate a series of seemingly disparate cases; however, as the show progresses, they discover evidence that connects all their cases, and uncover deeply-rooted associations between the department's highly-ranked officers and organised crime. Line of Duty aired six series between 2012 and 2021, with the first three airing on BBC Two, and the latter three airing on BBC One. Since then, the fate of the show has remained unknown. The critically acclaimed programme has gained an international cult following. It has also won numerous awards and been nominated for several others, most notably in BAFTA TV and RTS categories.

This short but sweet topic covers the programme as a whole, as well as lists for its episodes and accolades. The lead page has achieved Good Article status while the two others are both Featured Lists. All three articles are connected by links and a template and provide a wider overview of the show. I'm currently planning a subtopic that would encompass the six series articles and is currently over halfway complete. --TheDoctorWho (talk) 18:35, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

SZA (born 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. Credited with significantly influencing contemporary R&B, she rose to fame with her first two studio albums, Ctrl (2017) and SOS (2022). Both saw critical and commercial success. SOS topped charts in several countries and produced her first global number-one "Kill Bill", and both albums were ranked by the magazine Rolling Stone as two of the 500 greatest of all time. Her other accolades also include five Grammy awards and a Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her writing style has been described by critics as taking a vulnerable, reflective, and sincere tone, exploring themes like sexuality and self-worth. Her main genre categorization in the media is R&B, although she has rejected the label and prefers to be uncategorized. Apart from R&B, she has explored other sounds like rock and hip-hop.

[edit]I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love is the debut studio album by the American rock band, My Chemical Romance. Released in 2002, the album combined genres such as emo, post-hardcore, punk rock, and pop-punk, creating a distinct sound from traditional emo acts of the time. Across its 11 songs, the album covers a variety of subjects and themes, such as depression, pessimism, anger, and disillusionment; some have considered it to be a concept album. Initially, the album didn't receive much attention from critics and audiences, but it has received more over time. While opinions on the album are generally mixed, it has been considered a significant album to emo music.

Over the past few months, me and Leafy46 have been doing a lot of work on articles related to My Chemical Romance's discography, including working towards a good topic centered around the bands first studio album. This topic includes the album itself (obviously), it's two singles, a promotional single, and two non-singles that are notable for miscellaneous reasons ("Skylines and Turnstiles" for significance to the band's history and "Demolition Lovers" for the coverage regarding its connection to their second album). And since this album had no affiliated live album or headlining concert tour (which are typically featured in other album GTs), this makes the topic a fully comprehensive overview of the album. To specifically give credit where it's due, I worked on the album article itself, "Demolition Lovers", and "Headfirst for Halos", while Leafy46 worked on "Vampires Will Never Hurt You", "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us", and "Skylines and Turnstiles". I also want to thank the users who reviewed the GANs for these articles: Medxvo x3, MFTP Dan, Kyle Peake and LunaEclipse. And one more thing: there's no image on this topic since there weren't really any good options on Commons, so hopefully that's fine. Please note that this is my first time nominating a good topic, so please let me know if I did anything wrong. --λ NegativeMP1 21:49, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Under the presumption that "Romance" does not need to be listed, tentative support. Good work guys! mftp dan oops 22:55, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
- Going to take this as an opportunity to explain my stance on this: I don't think "Romance" is required since it's such an insignificant part of the album, and likewise, the MCR version is such an insignificant footnote in the history of "Romance". The version in the album isn't even the full thing, and there's differences between it and the original version. Furthermore, the MCR version of it is only one of hundreds of songs and covers of it. There's a good chance that a proper encyclopedic article on the piece wouldn't even mention the MCR version due to its lack of significance. Basically, I don't think including in the topic would not help with comprehension or coverage whatsoever, and I'd view it as basically cherry picking. λ NegativeMP1 07:30, 27 February 2025 (UTC)

- Support I don't think Romance is a necessary addition to this topic, it's just a quirky intro to the album added to set the mood and based on the eponymous 19th century South American guitar piece. I'd equate it to the opening of a Chinese album with an Oriental riff, or an Egyptian song including the Arabian riff. Idiosincrático (talk) 00:54, 4 March 2025 (UTC)
Evermore is the ninth studio album by the American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, released on December 11, 2020. Featuring impressionistic and mythopoeic storytelling, the album blends alternative rock, chamber rock, indie folk, and folk-pop music styles. Evermore spent four weeks atop the US Billboard 200 and was 2021's best-selling alternative album in the United States and best-selling Americana album in the United Kingdom.

After almost 2 years and much chaotic editing/deliberation/burnout/mental & personal development, all of Svalbard's four studio albums (to date) are listed at GA status since December 2024, and discography has just been promoted to FL (February 7, 2025). Doctor Who (2005–present)
[edit]Doctor Who is a British science fiction television show which began in 1963 and resumed airing in 2005, after having ceased broadcasting in 1989. The revived version of the show, though a continuation, made many changes from the original series, most notably longer episodes and more self-contained episodes, interspersed with occasional multi-part stories, structured into loose story arcs, instead of multi-episode serials of shorter length. 14 series and various specials have been broadcast as of February 2025, with another series close to broadcast.

While both articles have seen relatively consistent and recent editing by User:GustavoCza (who has also created the articles in question), neither seem like they are currently in any shape to be nominated for GA, and in any case it seems to be well beyond the three month grace period allotted for in WP:GTCRITERIA.
