Wikipedia:GLAM/UNIPD/European and Global Studies 2021-22

In the course of European and Global Studies [1], academic year 2020-2021, held by professor Claudia Padovani, in collaboration with Mauro Santaniello (Università degli Studi di Salerno), Edoardo Celeste (Dublin City University), Dennis Redeker (Universität Bremen), Outi Puukko (University of Helsinki), the students can create or improve Wikipedia articles about specific disciplinary content.

This project is a part of it:Progetto:Coordinamento/Università we are leading in the Wikipedia in Italian, fully supported by the community. The same university had other courses running with Wikipedia (in English, in Italian).

24th of March and 13th April 2022 workshop

During this workshop, we introduce Wikipedia as a learning tool and its essential guidelines.

Hint: Wikipedia:VisualEditor

To enable Visual Editor:

  1. login with your username on Wikipedia in English
  2. go to your preferences Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing
  3. unckeck the option "Temporarily disable the visual editor while it is in beta"
  4. in the "editing mode" menu, choose "Show me both editor tabs".
  5. press "Save" button and the bottom of the page.
  6. reload page(s).

  3. Outi to introduce the work done in Helsinki and students from Helsinki to report (proposed items: the proposed activity, the goal, the process set up, the challenges of translating - English, Finnish, Swedish - lessons learned and tips for developing further wikipedia entries)
