What old references tag? How are you generating the list of articles? Is there consensus that all articles should use {{reflist}}? —METS501 (talk) 00:25, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

<references />. The list will be generated from the state highway categories. There is no consensus that I am aware of regarding reflist, but there is no harm in changing it, for it does make the article look cleaner. I agree with Mets. Tasks like this (changing one perfectly valid way of doing things to another, without a clear mandate) is exactly the sort of thing that tends to result in a mass of complaints and frenzied posting on the admin boards. You need to show at least consensus from the WikiProject and ideally a wider consensus, showing that reflist is now the preferred way. --kingboyk 12:14, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do you propose to obtain the list of candidate articles currently using the tag? Or did you have in mind doing this spiderwise, or opportunistically? Ideally, if someone with access to a full-text db dump could generate such a list... Alai 02:58, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Denied. No clear consensus; and no demonstration of how this is useful to Wikipedia when offset against the use of server resources (however small). Running a bot is not a right. Please come back when you have wider consensus. That might be in a day or two, it might be six months, it might be never.
