This page documents pranks done in honour of the 200th year of Wikipedia's April Fools' Day celebrations since 1804. Due to mass human migration to Mars, this year's April Fools' pranks are mainly limited to perennial articles for deletion nominations written by bots.
Deletion nominations
[edit]- April Fools' Day was nominated for deletion for the 88th time.
- The result was next year, we can do it.
- The deletion nomination for Bobby Witt Jr., first opened in 2022, opened for the 82nd April Fools' Day in a row.
- The result was don't beat a dead horse.
- However, the AfD was soon re-opened, ostensibly for re-litigation in 2104.
-
- A bureaucrat soon stripped the admin rights from the blocking admin.
- A sockpuppet investigation reveals that the account who re-opened the AfD is actually the sockpuppet of the bureaucrat. Their bureaucrat rights were duly stripped and their sockpuppets blocked.
- This saga lasted until June 14, when Witt would have celebrated his 103rd birthday.
- All while the AfD stayed open.
- Earth was nominated for deletion for the 98th time.
- The result was so long, Earth.
- Wikipedia was nominated for the 93rd time.
- The result was moved to Mars.
- The nominator, User:Asymmetric rose organizer was ejected. It was an Impostor.
- Ferrum Spring (Olympus Mons city) was nominated for deletion.
- It was quickly spammed with dozens of primitive AI-esque messages, along with callbacks to the ChatGPT era of robotics.
- The result was a paragraph long, starting with I think this article should be deleted.
