Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Draft:The Octagon, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless used with permission. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is the teahouse, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page and someone will be along to answer it shortly. As you get started, you may find the pages below to be helpful.

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! — Diannaa (talk) 14:14, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: The Octagon (Egypt) has been accepted

[edit]
The Octagon (Egypt), which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

The article has been assessed as Stub-Class, which is recorded on its talk page. It is commonplace for new articles to start out as stubs and then attain higher grades as they develop over time. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Since you have made at least 10 edits over more than four days, you can now create articles yourself without posting a request. However, you may continue submitting work to Articles for creation if you prefer.

If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask at the help desk. Once you have made at least 10 edits and had an account for at least four days, you will have the option to create articles yourself without posting a request to Articles for creation.

If you would like to help us improve this process, please consider leaving us some feedback.

Thanks again, and happy editing!

Information icon Hi Ziad Rashad! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Discretionary sanctions for the Arab-Israeli dispute area

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Doug Weller talk 13:40, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You must follow these page-specific restrictions until you have 500 edits and have been here 30 days

[edit]

For the purposes of editing restrictions in the ARBPIA topic area, the "area of conflict" shall be defined as encompassing

  1. the entire set of articles whose topic relates to the Arab-Israeli conflict, broadly interpreted ("primary articles"), and
  2. edits relating to the Arab-Israeli conflict, to pages and discussions in all namespaces with the exception of userspace ("related content")

Also,

500/30 Rule: All IP editors, users with fewer than 500 edits, and users with less than 30 days' tenure are prohibited from editing content within the area of conflict.  On primary articles, this prohibition is preferably to be enforced by use of extended confirmed protection (ECP) but this is not mandatory. On pages with related content, or on primary articles where ECP is not feasible, the 500/30 Rule may be enforced by other methods, including page protection, reverts, blocks, the use of pending changes, and appropriate edit filters. Reverts made solely to enforce the 500/30 Rule are not considered edit warring.
The sole exceptions to this prohibition are:

1. Editors who are not eligible to be extended-confirmed may use the Talk: namespace to post constructive comments and make edit requests related to articles within the topic area, provided they are not disruptive. Talk pages where disruption occurs may be managed by any of the methods noted in paragraph b). This exception does not apply to other internal project discussions such as AfDs, WikiProjects, RfCs, noticeboard discussions, etc.

2. Editors who are not eligible to be extended-confirmed may not create new articles, but administrators may exercise discretion when deciding how to enforce this remedy on article creations. Deletion of new articles created by editors who do not meet the criteria is permitted but not required. Doug Weller talk 17:14, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

3. One Revert Restriction (1RR): Each editor is limited to one revert per page per 24 hours on any edits made to content within the area of conflict. Reverts made to enforce the 500/30 Rule are exempt from the provisions of this motion. Also, the normal exemptions apply. Editors who violate this restriction may be blocked by any uninvolved administrator.

Note that this means your edits on such pages (which you aren't yet eligible to make) may be reverted by anyone at any time.  These restrictions are stricter than those in most other areas because of the problems that we've had in this area.  Doug Weller talk 13:40, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just confirming that your edits seem to comply with the restrictions above. You can use the talk page but you can't take part in WP:RfCs, AFDs, etc. Doug Weller talk 17:23, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for offering help

Speedy deletion contested: Daulatpur Chandi

[edit]

Hello Ziad Rashad, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Daulatpur Chandi, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. JJP...MASTER![talk to] JJP... master? 23:04, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@JJPMaster: Hey, thank you for notifying me about this! This was one of many WP:CSDs I've done today and when it comes to A1 (don't tag under this criterion in the first few minutes after a new article is created.) I thought giving it 30+ minutes was enough time for the article to be fairly filled out with anything rather than the almost-blank page I came across. Though, I should have instead just moved it to the user's drafts. So again, thank you! - 𓋹 𝓩𝓲𝓪𝓭 𝓡𝓪𝓼𝓱𝓪𝓭 𓋹 [user | talk] 00:13, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fenglingdu Town has already been moved to Draft:Fenglingdu Town so why did you create a new article? Pizza0614 (talk) 16:10, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Pizza0614: Hey, thank you for informing me about this. I'll be filing a deletion of the redundant new article since it's already been moved to drafts by another user.

what makes you think blocking me on wikipedia will work exactly? Unless your sitting here holding my hands while I'm at my desk theres not really much of stopping anything — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.143.145.108 (talk) 08:43, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Naga Morich

[edit]

Reply to your message: Hello, good greetings! I made some changes in the current article following an old article which was authentic based on its subject. The current article does not clearly specify in which region of Bangladesh "Naga Morich" is mostly cultivated and where it is known widely. The Naga Morich is one of the traditional foods in the Sylhet region of Bangladesh and also the word "Naga" is actually used by Sylhetis i will leave a link of the old article here <a href="https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Naga_Morich&oldid=576151141"</a> i'm going to re-edit the article for now, for more information please do more research on Naga Morich and Sylhet. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Psychovert (talkcontribs) 11:20, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Psychovert: Thank you for the follow up, I personally don't know much about the subject but I noticed addition of some info without any reliable sources attached. If there's any info you're unsure of, just refrain from adding it until you find a source to cite. - 𓋹 𝓩𝓲𝓪𝓭 𝓡𝓪𝓼𝓱𝓪𝓭 𓋹 [user | talk] 21:23, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Ziad Rashad. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Anarchyte (talkwork) 07:00, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit to Sir Paul Marshall's wiki page

[edit]

Dear Ziad, This morning I have tried to edit Sir Paul Marshall's wiki page as something that has been recently added is factually incorrect. I work for a PR firm and he is our client.

This reference under his personal life 'In December 2020, Marshall told the Financial Times that he is currently exploring overseas investment opportunities citing the effects on the UK economy caused by the Covid-19 pandemic' is factually incorrect and the when you click on the source to read the story, it is not there - "Exploring Alternate Investments - A focus on Covid19 and the..." m-magazine.co.uk. 15 December 2020. Retrieved 20 February 2021. Please can you let me know how we can remove this? Apologies for my basic knowledge of editing Wikipedia pages. Many thanks, Tmcrowan (talk) 10:28, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Tmcrowan:, thank you for reaching out to me! The reason I reverted your edits is because you never provided a reason in the edit summary explaining why you're removing the source after publishing the page. If you believe there's a factual error then you can simply either replace the source (if possible) or remove it, but if you choose to remove a source you have to mention the reason in the edit summary as I mentioned.
If you still have any questions please don't hesitate to come back to my talk page and continue this thread! - 𓋹 𝓩𝓲𝓪𝓭 𝓡𝓪𝓼𝓱𝓪𝓭 𓋹 [user | talk] 10:39, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit to Sir Paul Marshall's wiki page

[edit]

Dear Ziad, In repsonse to your last e mail. I apologise that I didn't put in a reason in the first edit I made of Sir Paul's page, it is because I am new to doing this. I realised this error and put the edit reason in the second time I tried to edit it and this again was rejected. I will try again but don't wish to annoy you or you think I'm being rude by continuing to attempt to edit it. I ticked 'minor edit' the second time and put a reason so perhaps that was wrong and the reason it got rejected? Tmcrowan (talk) 10:45, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Tmcrowan: No problem at all! We live to learn. I'll go take a look at your second edit and if it was only about the minor edit it shouldn't have been reverted. If you issued a reason the second time I'll be sure to fix the issue myself and look into the source.
When it comes to minor edits, "any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if the edit concerns a single word, and it is improper to mark such an edit as minor." - 𓋹 𝓩𝓲𝓪𝓭 𝓡𝓪𝓼𝓱𝓪𝓭 𓋹 [user | talk] 10:59, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pending changes reviewer granted

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:58, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
⚠
Thanks for uploading File:Egypt Vision 2030 logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:09, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
