January 2012
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Template:Cycling data QST a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Template:Cycling data OPQ. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. There was no need to create a wholly new team data page, when it was easy enough to just move QST to OPQ. Please remember this in future, thank you. Craig(talk) 19:49, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Cycling articles
You have flagged a large number of cycling articles for {{speedy}} deletion. Do you really want them to be removed from the encyclopedia? Because this is what you are asking for. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 20:46, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- I keep finding more. Is it your intention that these areticles should all be merged into one enormous article? I am not convinced that this is appropriate. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 20:53, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- I have now been through and removed all, I think, of your incorrect Speedy-deletion tags of assorted cyclists. Please do not replace them (which might be considered vandalism), but please do learn the speedy-deletion criteria, and also learn about redirects. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:31, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- I have no wish to be unreasonable; A number of the articles you tagged should be labelled as stubs, and perhaps some should be deleted under no asserted notability criteria. But your requests for deletion are not reasonable. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:52, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry about that just felt that the templates were named wrongly but I stand correctly yet the fact the articles were labelled for speedy deletion was not my doing, it was the person who labelled the templates for speedy deletion. Ytfc23 (talk) 21:58, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited Terry Skiverton, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Keith Hill (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Template:Sylhet Royal Roster listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Template:Sylhet Royal Roster. Since you had some involvement with the Template:Sylhet Royal Roster redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). List of Somerset CCC players
Hi. I hope you've got the stamina to update this after every match: otherwise it might be best to leave it as is until the end of the season and do it all in one go, which is what Nigej or Harrias or I have done before. Either way, can you update the intro par so we know where it's updated to...? Thanks. Johnlp (talk) 11:00, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Sam_Foley
Hello Ytfc23,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Sam_Foley for deletion, because it seems to be an article that was previously deleted by a consensus decision.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, JohnCD (talk) 22:35, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- See WP:Articles for deletion/Sam Foley and WP:NFOOTBALL: "A player who signs for a domestic team but has not played in any games is not deemed to have participated in a competition, and is therefore not generally regarded as being notable." If you say "but he's bound to play tomorrow/next week/next month... " see Wikipedia is not a crystal ball and WP:UPANDCOMING. If you like (leave a note below here) I can userfy the article - move it into your user space - so that you can work on it, and put it back in the main encyclopedia once you are able to add a reliable source to confirm that he actually has played for Yeovil. JohnCD (talk) 22:42, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- OK, speedy withdrawn as you have added a ref to confirm his debut for Yeovil. It's really best to put in with your first edit the reference to confirm notability, particularly where the article has previously been deleted at AfD - as you see here, a bot will automatically flag the previous deletion on the talk page. Cheers, JohnCD (talk) 22:55, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Czech u21s
Hi, I noticed you made some changes at Czech Republic national under-21 football team. I don't think it's very good that the new format has the clubs, which are unnecessary, and lack the date updated, which would be very useful. I would appreciate if you noted the date updated and removed the clubs column, as this is not relevant to the information provided. Thanks! Cloudz679 20:03, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with the with your comment about the date updated section and I will replace that but the club section is just in line with other Under-21 articles for example on both the England national under-21 football team and Spain national under-21 football team articles Ytfc23 (talk) 20:06, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- The examples you quoted don't seem to have "date updated" either. Anyway ok I am happy for the clubs to be included if it's the standard elsewhere. Thanks! Cloudz679 20:31, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
Deprod of Nick Pope (footballer)
I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Nick Pope (footballer), which you proposed for deletion, because its deletion has previously been contested or viewed as controversial. Proposed deletion is not for controversial deletions. For this reason, propose deletion are disallowed on articles that have previously been de-{{prod}}ed, even by the article creator, or which have previously been listed on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article, but feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Yeovil Town F.C. & "tone"
Hi, I've been working my way through the WikiProject Somerset cleanup listing and note the "tone" banner on the Yeovil Town F.C. article. I hope to tackle it soon but as you are the major contributor to the article I wanted to contact you first and see what your thoughts are?— Rod talk 09:19, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
- The article needs a rewrite regardless of the "tone" banner, which I am not sure is justified, unfortunately at this moment in time I do not have enough time to improve the article and the most urgent section to update the history of the club which is seriously lacking. I wish you good luck in your efforts to clean up the article. Ytfc23 (talk) 12:16, 9 October 2012 (UTC)
- I've had a couple of goes at editing the article to remove the opinion etc & added lots of citations. Could you take a look at the Rivals section where a specific date is needed for an Exeter City game?— Rod talk 10:23, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
