Album covers. ;-))

Dear Yintan;
How nice to see you back in action! I hope you are keeping well?
Thank you for doing this; if you feel like doing some more, then there's a bunch of them here, under Music (recordings), should you have the inclination... Seriously, though: I was going to dedicate some time to learning how to add pix of album sleeves, but feel free to do the honours if you're in the mood. Thanks once again, and please keep well and joyful.
With kind regards;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(guestbook) 15:56, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Somehow I knew you'd spot my work . Nice to hear from you again. I'll see if I can add some more covers later. It is a bit of a hassle, with the rationales and all, but it does help the articles. Take care, Yintan  19:53, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. So, it would appear I have finally become predictable!
Please only do these if you really want to; it's obviously entirely up to you. I need to learn how to do this myself; another friendly editor very kindly sent me a detailed method some months ago, but I've been too busy with all the other things I enjoy doing here, and I keep pushing the 'album covers' sub-project to the back burner... I am having too much fun here, as well as in real life, Yintan!
Thanks for keeping in touch, and kindest regards for now. Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(guestbook) 20:11, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for doing what you could, I've been the target of the same IP range for weeks. Thanks again. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 22:26, 6 September 2016 (UTC)

Edit Summary

Hi - You wrote on my page that I forgot to include an edit summary. I apologize as I wasn't aware that was custom. You also said the content has been restored. Can you please be more specific as to which content? I was just adding more factual information about milestones in the school's history, founders, etc. Thanks.Caroline614 (talk) 19:11, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

Hi. The SAT score you (accidently?) removed was restored. And I've just noticed you removed it again. Why? Yintan  19:15, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
The cited source is over four years old. We have a new graduating class every spring. Not accurate. Make sense? Please let me know if you have questions. Thanks.Caroline614 (talk) 19:21, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
As long as there isn't a more recent cited source available, I suggest to keep the old one. Yintan  19:24, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
I don't see the value in keeping wrong data. To me, that would be like displaying an old address for a business that has moved, just because an ancient PDF download lists their previous address. In this case, old data is wrong and new data is not available. However, OTHER data is available. Would you take issue with replacing with a different stat? I'm trying my best to understand parameters but accuracy is also important. Thank you. Caroline614 (talk) 19:57, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
More recent data is of course always better. As long as there is a reliable source for it. Yintan  20:06, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for reviewing Ivoice, Yintan. Unfortunately MrX has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is: This should have been nominated for deletion via WP:CSD#G11 To reply, leave a comment on MrX's talk page.

That would have been another option, yes. Or tag it for copyright infringement. There's more than enough wrong with that article. By the way, please sign your posts. Thanks. Yintan  13:20, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Hayley Sales page

Hi there. I represent Hayley Sales and the birthday that has been added is referencing a Yahoo Page that was generated solely on inaccurate information provided by Wikipedia years back. In an attempt to not have inaccurate information out there, I have been removing the section. The reference he is using is not valid and there is nowhere else on the internet that states her birthday/year. I appreciate your concern, but hope you can understand why this particular section has been an issue. I will delete it once more in the hope that the other user will realize his reference is inaccurately sourced. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.92.185.63 (talk) 18:46, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

You better discuss this on the article's Talk page first. Or, if you really represent her, add the proper date. With a source, of course. Regards, Yintan  18:48, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

There is no reference for her birthdate on the internet save for Yahoo, which like I said, is referencing Wikipedia. There's no need for argument or discussion. I'm simply removing a faulty source/ birthdate that is inaccurately referenced. I am her manager. Thank you for your concern. I'd appreciate simply being able to revert the article back to the state it was in before the last user began sourcing a very old, very misquoted reference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.92.185.63 (talk) 19:03, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

Yes, there is need for discussion. On the article's Talk page. That's how WP works. Or add her proper birthdate, if you're so sure this one is wrong. Yintan  19:05, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

Hi! I did discuss this on the talk page. My name is Hayley Sales and the information cited is inaccurate. I would truly appreciate you simply omitting the faulty reference that was retrieved from Yahoo. I'm not entirely sure why this is so important to you, but I will tweet about WP so that can verify this is truly me! I will put up my accurate birthday once there is an online interview so that I may reference it. Thank you for understanding and I hope you have a great day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.92.185.63 (talk) 17:40, 18 September 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Your birthdate as such is not important to me but Wikipedia gets a fair share of people deleting and vandalizing data. That's why, in general, removing/changing sourced information (without explanation or discussion) looks suspicious. If you want to remove the date again I won't bother you, but it is always possible that another editor will put it back in again. Although your explanation on the article's Talk page is very useful. Anyway, getting the right date properly sourced is indeed the best option. Thanks. Yintan  18:01, 18 September 2016 (UTC)

I understand and appreciate your concern. Thank you! Hope you have a great day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.92.185.63 (talk) 16:43, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

Bhagwanpur (Uttarakhand)

Hello Yintan, just wanted to say that, the changes i made on Bhagwanpur (Uttarakhand) was relevant. Bhagwanpur is only known for industries. its an special economic zone (SEZ) in Uttarakhand. Not writing anything about industry and companies will not going to serve the purpose of Wikipedia, i.e. to spread relevant and informative content across globe. I would request you to research on it. Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pawanroorkee (talkcontribs) 18:56, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

Of course you can write about industry but before you do, please check WP:NOTABILITY. There's no need to simply list every single company in the area, Wikipedia is not a phonebook. Also, the links you added as references weren't reliable sources, they were spam links. For more on that, check out WP:VERIFY and WP:EL. Thanks, Yintan  19:04, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

May I ask what it was about this edit that made you feel it was vandalism and/or needed to be reverted? ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 14:31, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

@ONUnicorn: I reverted it because of the unsourced last sentence, a vague generalization. Not because I thought it was vandalism. Yintan  14:46, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
Ok. Thanks. I went ahead and removed mention of Australia all together; as the IP was objecting that they are not commonly served in Australia, but trying to still indicate that s/he couldn't say for sure that they had never been served at any Chinese restaurant there. It turns out many countries in that list weren't supported by the cited source, so I removed all of them. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 15:18, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

Clarification

Can you clarify why you have edited https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Baneheia_murders ? There's a lot of clarification and language edits that you have reverted for no apparent reason. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.211.113.193 (talk) 10:17, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

Okay, I undid your edit. I assume most of it was mistakes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.211.113.193 (talk) 10:23, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

@84.211.113.193:No mistakes. The reason for my reversals is simple: you make subtle, yet important, changes to the details of the case without explaining why. If you suggest the sources are incorrectly quoted, I strongly suggest to discuss this on the article's Talkpage first. Yintan  10:26, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
I guess the things you are reacting to are the introduction and the specifics of the side charges. These are loaded topics, and I should have written something in the comment. It's understandable that you would revert those.
What I don't understand, however, are all the other edits. These are purely language edits, text edits, clarifications, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.211.113.193 (talk) 10:32, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
Another point is that I'm pretty sure all the text I had edited was originally written by myself, yesterday or the day before, so it's not like I've changed details in a way that would differ with the intent of the original author. Also, everything I have written is referenced and quoted. I'm not trying to do a political statements, I only want to inform about the case. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.211.113.193 (talk) 11:34, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
@84.211.113.193: I know, you've made your point. But for example, you changed "evidence suggesting that he could be innocent" to "evidence of innocence". Sounds similar, but it means something completely different. Also "sexual abuse" (your wording) is not the same as "rape and indecent assault" (the original text). Just two examples. And again, I think that should be discussed first. But you may have noticed that I haven't reverted your other edits, so I leave the discussion up to you and the other contributors to the article. Yintan  11:41, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
Great. Regarding "evidence suggesting that he could be innocent" vs. "evidence of innocence", both versions actually say example the same, it's just that the second version sounds more convincing. However, it is also shorter and better written. Regarding the second edit, "sexual abuse" vs. "rape and indecent assault", I'm just quoting the reference. "rape and indecent assault" is simply wrong. No, wait, sorry, I must have looked at different reference. I also looked up the verdict from the first trial now, and the text in the reference is correct. I'll change this, thanks for pointing out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.211.113.193 (talk) 13:04, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
"Sexual abuse and indecent assault" is the correct translation from the reference. The same words were used in the verdict from the first trial. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.211.113.193 (talk) 13:08, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
Too much coffe. "rape and sexual abuse" is correct, and I've changed the article to this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.211.113.193 (talk) 13:13, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

"Vandalism"?

Hi, I'm not sure I get the point of this edit [1] and this user warning. [2]. Would you be able to explain? Uanfala (talk) 11:54, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

@Uanfala:That's strange. I have no idea. I can't even remember seeing that. Maybe Huggle was lagging, a server hiccup, slip of the mouse, I honestly don't know. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll remove the warning. Yintan  11:57, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
@Uanfala:Ah, you beat me to it. Yintan  11:59, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
I think I see what's happened. These two were among the 12 edits that you did within the space of a single minute at 10:11. That's going way too fast (it's easy to slip down that slope, I've done that sometimes too!). I think if you slowed down a bit, you wouldn't experience more of these server hiccups.
And one general piece of advice, if I may share it: if you place a level-3 warning on a user's talk page, even when it's because of legitimate disruption, it's always a good idea to have a look at the previous level-2 warning, in case it's bogus (as was in this case). Uanfala (talk) 12:07, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
@Uanfala: Like I said, I don't even know how (or why) this level3 ended up on that page in the first place (and it's 6 edits, actually, the ones on the Talkpages go automatic ). Anyway, thanks again for bringing this up, it shouldn't have happened. Yintan  12:23, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

Everglades University Changes

Good Afternoon Yintan,

I updated the incorrect information that is posted on your site. I work for Everglades University and you have a lot of incorrect information such as our history, rankings, President, population, staff and faculty numbers. Most of your information comes from articles based on Keiser University which is not a governing body of Everglades University. We are goverened by a Board of Trustees and our President is Kristi Mollis. This information is clearly listed on our website and catalog. I did cite my sources for my updates.

I would appreciate your cooperation is reviewing my updates with our website to see that I am correct along with the 2017 rankings I posted and the website for those rankings.

Thank you, Crissy H. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CrissyH (talkcontribs) 18:10, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

@CrissyH: Hello Chrissy. I reverted your edits because you removed a lot of sourced information and replaced it with unsourced information. If you want to add new information to the article please put citations in your texts (see WP:CITATIONS). If you don't, there's a fair chance your work will be removed again because Wikipedia wants its users to be able to verify that the information given is supported by reliable sources. Thanks. Yintan  20:52, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

"Kang the Conqueror"??

I have never heard of this entity, yet you claim that I vandalized the article. Please address your concerns to the appropriate individual.

Also, I made a legitimate edit to the article "Buruli Ulcer" with which you disagree. Do you know the difference between a "secondary infection" and a "satellite infection"? If not, why the revert? If you do know the difference, kindly revert your edit.--71.36.127.39 (talk) 17:28, 29 September 2016 (UTC)

The "Kang the Conqueror" edits were made by somebody using the same IP address as you in august 2011. But I didn't revert them and never claimed you vandalized the article. Like you, I had nothing to do with "Kang". Shared IP addresses, like yours, are used by multiple users, and that's why the warning is on the Talk page you're using now. To prevent this kind of confusion you can register with Wikipedia. As far as 'secondary' and 'satellite' go, I found 'secondary' a better description but if you disagree, fine, use 'satellite'. I'm not going to start a fight about it . Kind regards, Yintan  18:01, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
After looking up the definition of "secondary infection," I will revert to "satellite infection" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.36.127.39 (talk) 18:18, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
Like I said, it's fine with me. By the way, I saw you left a similar "Kang" message on the Talkpage of User:Reaper Eternal. You might want to remove that because although he did revert those edits (and they were vandalism[3]), he didn't revert YOU. Just a thought. Yintan  18:24, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
Just saw that ClueBot reverted you. That was a false positive. I'll deal with it. Yintan  18:27, 29 September 2016 (UTC)

Yintan, we at The Church of St. Mary the Virgin prefer to edit our own Wikipedia page. If you edit it again we will request that Wikipedia secure it so that it can only be edited by admins. You do not work for this Church, and we do not appreciate your interfering with our page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sister Monica (talkcontribs) 19:33, 29 September 2016 (UTC)

You obviously don't understand how Wikipedia works. On more levels than one. Trust me, I'm not the only one who will work on your page and fix your editing errors. Please read MOS:IMGSIZE Yintan  05:58, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
