Vandalism
[edit]Why do people take wikipedia so seriously? I'm not trolling or anything I just want to know. It isn't as if anyone else other than wikipedia editors actually treat it as a serious source of information, because it won't ever be. Over half the traffic through wikipedia's servers are people who have something to do with wikipedia rather than people using it as a reference tool.. what do you think about that? Essentially, my point is, if "wikipedians" left it alone, it would drop out of existence fairly quickly. Just looking for an alternative point of view.. although I expect this comment will either be expunged or I will receive a nasty reply.
The above comment was NOT vandalism - why did you remove it? Are you afraid of criticism? Are you unable to enter into a balanced debate?
Thanks for (eventually) replying. Your response is indicative of the Wikipedia community as a whole: Firstly if you do not like something, you remove it, and accuse whoever posted the comment of vandalism. You use emotive and strong language like "harassment". You cannot claim harassment if one comment only has been posted. Harassment implies repeated unwanted contact over a period of time. This did not happen. Responses like this are what prevent me from being able to contribute to such a project: I could not, in good conscience, put my name toward such an endeavour as this unless there were a serious rethink of the rules of conduct.
As a word of advice, feedback you have asked for is not worth asking for. The true value comes when you haven't asked. Please take this to heart before you delete it.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.140.186.215 (talk • contribs)

Jehovah in the New Testament page move
[edit]It appears you did a cut-and-paste page move, which is 'bad' because it stops the 'new' article from having a complete page history. This is needed for Wikipedia's license. I've placed a tag on it to have its history merged, but in future just use the 'move' tab, found next to 'history' at the top of the page. Thanks, Petros471 19:54, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

CAIR again
[edit]Hi Nloth, Yahnatan, Andjam, PeruvianLlama,
There's another POV pusher on the CAIR article; I'm contacting you because you've recently been involved in maintaining the article. I've tried to talk things out with the guy, but he remains dedicated to removing important information from the article, and I don't have the time to deal with his long screeds and shifting rationales. Could you maybe help out here? I confess I've lost my patience with him, but would be happy to help if you could join in the discussion and brewing edit war.
Thanks,

Hi,
You may have an interest, since I saw your name in the history list of the Bow tie article: There's a separate article, List of bow tie wearers and an admin is suggesting deleting it. When I looked into the Bow tie page, I found there's already a list there. I don't have an opinion on which list should remain, but one really should go. I'd appreciate your advice on the Talk:Bow tie page, if you're interested and have the time.Noroton 00:59, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Calvinism news
[edit]Hi. I'm recommending to all participants in WikiProject Calvinism that they keep up with at least the News page ({{Wikipedia:WikiProject Calvinism/News}}) for this project. The methods I'd recommend for doing this are any or all of:
- Add the abovementioned page to your watchlist
- Include the page on another page you look at regularly; in my case, this is my user page, since I keep my personal "todo" list there. That would look something like:
Last change: 2023/11/28
All the Reformed Christianity–related news that is news from across the encyclopedia

revert of map caption on Europe
[edit]I have reverted a change that you've applied to a map on Europe showing the military alliances during WW1. I completely understand your edit assuming it was motivated by the fact that the image file holds the date 1914. This is the mistake! If you look clearly at the picture and know about the history of WW1, then you see that the displayed alliances mirror the state between 1916 and 1918. You will find more details on the image itself. Therefore, the caption contradicts the file name. Tomeasytalk 07:56, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

The article American Presbyterian Church has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Careful searching reveals no secondary sources for this young, small, local breakaway denomination, one of hundreds of thousands.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Abductive (reasoning) 17:23, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Evangelical Presbyterian Church (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). The article Christian Methodist Episcopal Zion Church has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This proposed church merger seems to have been abandoned. There is no scope for expansion as it is just hypothetical at this point, so there are no specifics beyond what has already been written about the two separate churches. There is a section duplicating this article in both Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

[edit]Berean Study Bible moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Berean Study Bible, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 18:05, 11 July 2021 (UTC)
