Hi,

I created a new article on "RBOB Gasoline" a few days ago and was wondering when it will be reviewed and made live.

Artefacts vs artifacts

[edit]

Both spellings are correct and usage depends upon context. An article about the English Sweet Track naturally uses the BritEng spelling, see WP:ENGVAR. The American Institute of Archaeology also uses "artefact". Doug Weller talk 11:35, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

[edit]

Please help me with... Hi, I have a concern about this sentence in the first paragraph of the entry for Enigma, the WWII encryption system:

"The Enigma machine was considered so secure that it was used to encipher the most top-secret messages.[1]"

It's my understanding that the German High Command used the Lorenz cipher, whose machine used more rotors and was more secure than Enigma.

If I am correct, perhaps that sentence should read

"The Enigma machine was considered so secure that it was used to encipher the most top-secret messages among units that were subordinate to the German High Command.[1]"

or something like that. Wkussmaul (talk) 17:26, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This is a question that should be asked at Talk:Enigma machine. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 17:41, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The "This Article Has Multiple Issues" notice

[edit]

It seems to me that this: "This article may require copy editing for lack of clarity." implies that lack of clarity is the goal. It should be: "This article may require copy editing to improve clarity." or "This article may require copy editing to eliminate lack of clarity." Wkussmaul (talk) 20:29, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
