Do not submit until references are embedded in the text that support all facts. David notMD (talk) 12:44, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

See Help:Referencing for beginners to understand that refs need to be embedded in the text following the facts that the references support. References can be used multiple times if there are different places in the text supported by the same refs. That requires naming refs. David notMD (talk) 12:11, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

If you have a personal or paid connection to WIS, see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for how to declare that on your User page and/or your Talk page. David notMD (talk) 12:21, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

I am here to help you navigate Wikipedia as part of the Mentor program. Please feel free to ask questions on my Talk page.

Here, or at editor and article Talk pages, remember to 'sign' your comments by typing four of ~ at the end.
Format for comments is to start with one more : than the previous comment. The : does not appear, but it indents the comment.
See Wikipedia:User pages for how to create your user page (what can and cannot be put there). A User page is not mandatory, but having any content there, even "Hello", will make your User name appear in blue rather than red. David notMD (talk) 17:42, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

References need to be inserted into the text, following the facts being supported. The software automatically creates superscripted numbers and shows the refs under References. David notMD (talk) 09:23, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft...

[edit]

...will at best be declined, possibly Speedy deleted under G11 (see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion). The wording is highly promotional: "Despite a short history, WIS has achieved remarkable results, both in the academic and sports arenas. WIS students have entered prestigious top-tier universities such as Yale, Manchester and Melbourne. In sports, our school teams have also attained impressive wins at district and state levels. This encouraging achievements not only reflect the hard work and determination of our students but also the dedication and investments of all WIS educators, be they teachers, boarding house parents, or administrators."

Also, all content needs to be verified by references that are inserted in the text. See any other school or college article as examples. Fix this while waiting for it to be reviewed (which may be days, weeks, months - the backlog is not a queue). David notMD (talk) 06:42, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Westlake International School, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. – robertsky (talk) 20:18, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Bbb23 (talk) 21:05, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

To correct my mistakes from writing incorrect requirement format for wikipedia. I will try my best to prevent the same mistake happend again.

Decline reason:

That appears to be an acceptable username. However, you will not be unblocked to write about your school. If that is your only goal, then this is the end of the line. If you want to make contributions to other articles outside of your conflict of interest, then tell us what they might be in your next unblock request. PhilKnight (talk) 12:08, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That username is acceptable and available, but the issue isn't the format, it's your apparent connection to the school. What would you write about other than that? Daniel Case (talk) 06:25, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Actually i'm one of the staff working in the school. My purpose creating the wikipedia is actually to let user know what is this school about and a few description about us. I had no intention to promote about what our school provided. If there's a description about promoting our school, i can edit and left only description/information about us. Wisedu (talk) 08:11, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please post new topics at the bottom of your talk page. This is necessary to keep the discussions in their correct chronological order. Thank you. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:35, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My purpose for creating wikipedia is to provide information for user what our school about and a few description about us. I had no intention to promote what our school provided. But if my previous writing has been considered as promoting, i can fix/edit back my writing so that it follow's wikipedia guideline.

Decline reason:
