You had asked for more evidence on the SPI (I wasn't the filer), and I'd provided some when I was about to block the account -- which I didn't do as it was active at SPI. Can you take a relook please? —SpacemanSpiff 13:26, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

Account creation interface!
I understand you're an account creation interface administrator. Do you believe I can be trusted with access to the tool?—cyberpower ChatOnline 12:35, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Am I? I haven't used the ACC interface for years, so I couldn't comment, sorry. WilliamH (talk) 17:24, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- I was told that you are by the other interface administrators. They told me to consult you because they are hesitant to say yes to granting me access because of my block where I oversighted. They believe that because I was disclosing information that needed to be oversighted that I am unfit to handle private information. I and they want your input.—cyberpower ChatOffline 17:29, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hello, WilliamH I thought I would point you to this disccussion and yes you are still an ACC admin. Mlpearc (powwow) 18:49, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- William, sorry for the confusion. Being the blocking admin and an ACC admin it seemed so convenient to have you weigh in. Given your surprise i took a look. AGK reactivated your account at ACC about 2 months ago and a month ago promoted you to admin. My guess would be it having something to do with you also having CU rights here and CU access at ACC. We aren't supposed to be just randomly reactiving accounts so maybe AGK spoke to you and you forgot about it. ;) delirious & lost ☯ ~hugs~ 20:59, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- I recall I might have tried to access ACC again, but didn't have any success due to my account having been inactive for a long while. Perhaps AGK saw this, reactivated my account, and made me an admin on it because of my other permissions. I'm off now, this is just to say that I'm aware of the discussion and will post a response tomorrow. In the mean time, Cyberpower could also consider contacting the other functionaries who reviewed the context of the block and the eventual unblocking. WilliamH (talk) 21:07, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

Light current CU
Did you offer any opinion on whether DriveByWire or Bred Ivy were related to Light current? I saw that you said that DBW and BI are unrelated to each other, but if you said either "one is LC and one isn't" or "neither of them are LC", I completely overlooked it. Nyttend (talk) 23:12, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

The concerns in your review of this Olympics-based DYK have been addressed, if you want to recheck it. If not, let me know and I'll put the "recheck" arrow on it. Thanks! PS: No need to put a talkback on my page; I'll see this in my watchlist. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:19, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Milo Yiannopoulos
On 24 July 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Milo Yiannopoulos, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Milo Yiannopoulos arranged a moonwalking flash mob at Liverpool Street station as a tribute to Michael Jackson shortly after his death? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Milo Yiannopoulos. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Have you looked at
the other edits of DonaldBlack (talk · contribs)? Looks like the sort of edits I'd expect from his namesake - in fact, we may have a username problem here given his racist edits (we have Don Black (white nationalist) although that title underestimates Black's racism). Dougweller (talk) 18:47, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- Perhaps worth keeping an eye on, but only three edits very justifiably revertable - I wouldn't say there's much to worry about at the moment. WilliamH (talk) 20:25, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- I agree - if he carries on like this he's not going to go far. I'm still thinking that there may be a username problem. Dougweller (talk) 20:34, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

My RfA
Hey William, would you mind making the closure of my RfA official? I withdrew it and added the "unsuccessful" RfA templates to the page myself, but I'm pretty sure I need a bureaucrat to do the honours as a formality. Thanks, and take care. =) Master&Expert (Talk) 22:06, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi WilliamH, when you have time, there is a request (https://toolserver.org/~acc/acc.php?action=zoom&id=79462) at Request an Account which Elockid suggested you might be able to shed some light on. Thanks, Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 17:28, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks - I can't log in though, for reasons that aren't clear. Is my username WilliamH? I've tried all the passwords I use and none of them work, and it says my e-mail address is invalid when trying to reset the password - perhaps I didn't include one. Could you point an ACC admin in the direction of this? Thanks! WilliamH (talk) 17:39, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

You are invited to the first ever Reading Wiki Meetup which will take place at Copa, 76-78 Kings Road, Reading, RG1 3BJ on Sunday 23 September 2012 from 1.00 pm.
I hope as many people as possible will be able to attend so that we can make this a regular event. If you have never been to one, this is an opportunity to meet other Wikipedians in an informal atmosphere for Wiki and non-Wiki related chat and for beer or food if you like. Experienced and new contributors are all welcome. This event is definitely not restricted just to discussion of Berkshire related topics. Bring your laptop if you like and use the free Wifi or just bring yourself. Even better, bring a friend! Click the link for full details. Looking forward to seeing you. Hello WilliamH. I've just noticed a request for the Rob Ford article to be unprotected, and it seemed like a reasonable request to me, so I'm forwarding it on to you as the protecting admin. Good morning William - I noticed you are willing to nominate a user for Adminship. I'd like you to consider me for the position. ip block lift
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
the ip 82.101.5.49 is inside a block that is statically assigned to people, it doesn't change, so it makes sense to remove the block and just block that single user that actually did vandalism...
- It does make sense to do that, however it is not possible. The individual concerned uses many IP addresses, and blocking lots of them is the only way to deal with his disruption. Follow the instructions on your talk page - specifically the To edit, please log in box - and you will be able to edit with an account. WilliamH (talk) 21:13, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
