Kathryn Tappen
[edit]Are you also an intern working for Kathryn or NBC Sports? If so please read the policy on WP:Conflict of interest before editing the article again. ANd if you do, do not keep re-adding content from her NBC bio in an attempt to big her up. We deal in neutral basics - she works for NBC, previously worked for NSEN - it doesn't need lists of every programme or sporting event she has reported/fronted. Nthep (talk) 20:05, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
No I am actually not - and I have the right to make edits on this page if its properly cited and doesn't plagiarize. Are you an intern for her? We all have the right to make edits if they are done so properly. I am just trying to enhance this page. Thanks for your help though.
- Glad to hear it. Yes you have the right to edit but not plagiarise and your edits reinsert - word for word - content from her NBC bio. What is the importance of listing all the teams or events she has covered? If she worked for a New England station isn't it obvious that she'd cover the major New England teams in major sports without having to name them all? The biggest issue with this article is that all the sources I can find repeat, exactly, the same bio paragraphs about her. No-one seems to have compiled anything original about her in years and are either relying on press releases or frankly just copying. That leaves it difficult to say "she has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject." - WP:BIO. She is notable but coverage is very poor and it does her no justice to copy that material onto here as well. Nthep (talk) 20:29, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
- Sorry but do you understand copy and pasting is not on. You're not even attempting to write the content in your own words but repeatedly lifting it from the NBC page. Stop doing this and try discussing the content. I asked you why you think it's important to have the article list all the events and teams she has reported on and instead of coming up with any reason you just reinsert the same content. I'm starting to have serious problems here assuming that you are editing in good faith and are not, despite your previous reply, someone involved with Tappen or NBC employed solely to turn this into a promotional piece about her.
