Manchester Pen Club
Did you delete my contribution? If so i would like to know why? Was it offending you in anyway, as it was hardly a problem page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PEN Thief (talk • contribs) 15:47, 21 April 2006
- First, I don't delete articles, since I am not an administrator. I only tag them for deletion. Anyway, according to its deletion log, Manchester PEN Club was deleted (by Redvers (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA), not me) as a non-notable club, which on Wikipedia is subject to speedy deletion under the criteria for speedy deletion, specifically Article criteria #7. It was also bordering on patent nonsense - meaning it had no meaningful content. Those articles are speedyable under General criteria #1. However, it did not offend me. Nevertheless, Wikipedia subjects must be notable, and must make sense. The criteria for speedy deletion that applied indicate that we indeed believe consider this a problem page. I'm sorry, but that's the way Wikipedia works. --WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 15:59, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:KISS108.png)
This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:KISS108.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. (Of course, you should know all this, as you listed this as orphaned, too...) --WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 15:36, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Stubs
I am wondering... why are you removing stub templates from many television station articles? --WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 16:12, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
Not sure how to contact you other than through this so sorry if this is the wrong place. Anyway, why is a full page considered a stub? I didn't think it was so I deleted the stub marking. Sorry if I was wrong in doing so. Didn't know this place had so many rules; guess I won't come back again. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 147.136.132.199 (talk • contribs) 16:28, May 7, 2006 (UTC).
- OK, I will admit that some are past stubs -- well past stubs, sometimes. A few appear to even be developed fairly well. I guess I wasn't looking closely enough. Don't worry, it's actually fine to remove stub templates from non-stubs, and you can continue to do so. (And yes, my talk page is the right place to bring it up.) --WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 16:35, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
Ok sorry for the confusion. Guess I'll come back every so often afterall :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 147.136.132.199 (talk • contribs) 17:33, May 7, 2006.

Seeking to include my Radio History Site
You apparently arbitrarily exclude some Radio History sites while including others. If I understand Wikipedia correct it's a free USER-supported online encyclopedia. Since someone's apparently setting themselves up as a self-appointed arbiter of what does or does not get included within Wikipedia, perhaps you can direct me to who I need to talk to about placing my valid, non-commercial Golden Age Radio link as an external link under Radio History. I note that Thomas White's excellent and informative site is included, and indeed he lists me as another Golden Age Radio Site reference on his own site.
Where can I get a listing of the Wikipedia sites and topics that actually adhere to the open, user-contributed, supported sites? Clearly some self-appointed editors have taken upon themselves the authority to control elements of Wikipedia. I just need some help determining who those editors or sites are and how to resolve some of these issues.
Feel free to peruse the 1200 pages of The Digital Deli Online to determine to your own satisfaction whether I contribute anything to Golden Age Radio History on The Internet.

- The problem is that it is your site, and you can't simply link to your websites in Wikipedia on your own, to the best of my knowledge. As I warned you, you shouldn't add links to your own websites on articles. I am not a person that determines "what does or does not get included within Wikipedia" (in fact, I am just a user, not a person who deals with the big higher-up stuff. Nor do I or anyone else control any part of Wikipedia -- that would be ownership of articles), I was just trying to revert in good faith because spamlinks usually arrive in bunches. Remember, you should add content too, not just links. The site is, of course, more than welcome as a source for such content, however. You may wish to read what Wikipedia is not to find out what is not acceptable for Wikipedia -- this determines what should be included or not, which you needed to do. You could always ask Jimbo Wales or any of our administrators, though I don't know if you will get the response you hoped. Sorry this was long (and a bit delayed), but that was needed to get the necessary details out of the way. Thank you. Oh, and I should note that the end of your note seems to be advertising-like to me. --WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 00:37, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
What's Your Problem?
I've contributed to this website with much forethought etc and have added great content through your myriad of pages.
However, you seem to be the keeper of the TV pages. The addition of the website popeducation.org seems to be something you don't enjoy.
This is a site used by professors, teachers and students and the like. Content is added only manually and is a great benefit to readers and a good addition to these pages.
We're only trying to make these pages better. Lets stop fencing, please.

- Technically, under our policies, you can't just simply add links to your websites from articles, as it is advertising. Others can add a link, but not someone directly involved. I'm terribly sorry, and I'm sorry if I am taking this too far. Oh, and I am not a "keeper of the TV pages", and no one else is. That is also not allowed. Again, sorry. --WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 01:04, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
From Professor Mike -
Still confused - I don't have anything to do with the link posted, but what I did was addcontent to pages that will reinforce or add something.
NBC related The other day, I added a WNBQ - Channel 5 liner which I obtained from this site. It had to do with the 1956 announcement of NBC going color on its O&O TV staions. The line's still there - but I then added the popeducation.org link - the site which gave me the info.
Guess what? - You pulled the link? I tried to add it several times, now it looks like spam.
Once again, I'm trying to pick-up - or do what I tried to do last week. You're saying it can't be done??
That's what I meant by "keeper" of the pages.
Please clarify —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Professormichael (talk • contribs) 01:55, May 23, 2006.
- What I'm trying to say is that it is perfectly fine as a source (as you appear to sometimes be doing), but don't add it too rapidly like an advertiser would do. That's why we encourage you to add content, not just links, to the encyclopedia. Several of your edits consist of simply adding the external link. In the future, you can still add it as a source, but be careful if you haven't added any content from there to an article. Again, I'm sorry if I have took this too far. Thanks. --WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 10:52, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

disambig WBXI
Thanks for your recent disambig for WBXI. You fixed the link on my sub-page, which I certainly don't mind. In fact, I've often wondered if people minded when I've done it on their pages, but so far, no one has ever complained. Carry on! :) --Firsfron 23:35, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I do try to fix links whenever possible, which is why I did it. Thank you for the compliment! (And, yes, you're welcome.) --WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 23:58, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
