Disputed non-free use rationale for File:IXI X.desktop and elements 1992.png

Thank you for uploading File:IXI X.desktop and elements 1992.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Your GA review of Assembly Language

Your review of the Assembly Language article is spot-on—thanks! I cut my teeth, professionally, on BAL way back in the day when we called it that. (My first language was APL; my second was IBM Assembler. You can imagine how my brain nearly melted during that transition.)

Your suggestion to clean up the article really piqued my interest, and I'm thinking about taking it on. If you see me change my username to "Wasted Time II", you'll know what an evil, er, um, bad, er, um GOOD influence you've been. Cheers! Sorry, I should have clarified about "Thing, we don't in practice list the detailed research history of a geographical object except for major discoveries, astronomical objects and the first discovery. Pink Floyd/Roger Waters concert tours

I saw that you reverted my redirect and added reliable sources to In the Flesh (Roger Waters tour). I wanted to thank you for improving the article, I had looked for references, but did not find them. There are additional concert tours that need additional references: The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking (tour), Radio K.A.O.S. (tour), The Man and The Journey Tour, Pink Floyd 1974 tours, and Wish You Were Here Tour. If you would be able to improve these articles by adding references, I would greatly appreciate it. Aspects (talk) 21:15, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

@Aspects: Anyone can improve tour articles. The best sources for them are books about the artist (if the artist is well known enough to have books written about them, which Pink Floyd and its members certainly are), music industry magazines (especially for announcements and box office performance numbers), and newspaper stories (out-of-town reviewers being sent to cover the opening night of a tour is an especially good indication of importance). Wasted Time R (talk) 22:54, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
Based on your adding of references/reverting redirect of Wings 1973 UK Tour, there are two Paul McCartney/Wings tours that need more reliable sources: Paul McCartney's Unplugged Tour 1991 and Wings Over Europe Tour. Also I asked you because you had books that are not popping up when I tried Google news and book sources. For some of these tours, I thought I could find enough sources, but did not have enough time currently. But others I found nothing like the two you reverted and added references to. I was just trying to avoid that in the future. Aspects (talk) 22:58, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

The Guidance Barnstar
For your thoughtful review at the GA nomination for Kathy Karpan. You are thorough with your feedback, but more importantly, you treat every interaction with fellow Wikipedians as an opportunity to educate and to provide helpful advice. Even an experienced editor like myself has a lot to learn from you! Edge3 (talk) 07:13, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

Admittedly, I wasn't sure what I was really getting myself into when I picked up that nomination, but you were very generous with your advice and feedback. You also were quite patient with my scheduling issues, and you were helpful with sharing the Newspapers.com clippings! George W. Romney scheduled for TFA

This is to let you know that the George W. Romney article has been scheduled as today's featured article for July 8, 2021. Please check the article needs no amendments. If you're interested in editing the main page text, you're welcome to do so at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/July 8, 2021, but note that a coordinator will trim the lead to around 1000 characters anyway, so you aren't obliged to do so.

For Featured Articles promoted recently, there will be an existing blurb linked from the FAC talk page, which is likely to be transferred to the TFA page by a coordinator at some point.

We suggest that you watchlist Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors from the day before this appears on Main Page. Thanks! Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:57, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:JuneauPublicLibraryStainedGlass.JPG.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. plicit 09:40, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:American political costumes indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read!
