African composers moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, African composers, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello.

Okay. Thank you User:Girth Summit.

One more question: The draft page has the following two messages near the top:

1. "This template is being used in the wrong namespace. To nominate this talk page for deletion, go to Miscellany for deletion." 2. "This article is being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policy."

Do I ignore these and continue editing?

AfC notification: Draft:African composers has a new comment

[edit]
I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:African composers. Thanks! Theroadislong (talk) 22:25, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Theroadislong.

Thank you for this.

The issue about creating this page is that we don't have Wikipedia pages for all of these composers and the Internet is currently a highly effective source of misinformation about African Composers.

- These composers are NOT composers of African descent - this is pointless label for an African who is, well, an African and not requiring of any additional labels - and these composers have nothing to do with skin hues because Africa is varied so no skin hue-based Wikipedia page is suitable.

A dedicated page is the only way to capture this.

This is a Catch-22 situation: the names on the page will be deleted if there are no Wikipedia links behind them AND the links that are available cannot be added because they are external. All of this contributes to the misinformation.

Can you advise on how Wikipedia deals with situations like this - or are all submissions only from those who have Wikipedia pages?

Thanks.
