Bill Carmody Draft
Hi! I see you are a member of WikiProject Law. I am seeking feedback on a draft I created about trial attorney Bill Carmody, of Susman Godfrey, who has been profiled in the press several times because of the size and prominence of his cases. I have explained more here: User talk:Backyard116/sandbox/Bill Carmody/Seeking feedback. He’s a personal connection of mine, so impartial advice on notability and neutral point of view would be greatly appreciated. Backyard116 (talk) 16:16, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
- He might very well be notable, but the article as written isn't appropriate for Wikipedia. In particular, the "notable cases" section reads as a resume. See WP:NOTRESUME and WP:RESUME. Additionally, the MOS prefers paragraphs over bulleted lists when the material can be "read easily as plain paragraphs". Best, voorts (talk/contributions) 21:39, 10 October 2023 (UTC)

"I leave it to SMcCandlish to determine whether he wishes to raise this at another venue." Nah, this is something that will change in due course as more source usage shifts and more style guides explicitly change their position on it. There is no hurry, and I am not one to go around WP:FORUMSHOPPING until I WP:WIN. I come out firmly against people pursuing "language change activism" agendas on this site, and am not about to join their number. But every few years this question comes up, and each time, the needle has moved closer to using "it" because the language is actually moving in that direction. Whether I or anyone else here prefers that shift is rather immaterial. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 02:43, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
- Fair enough. My sole intent in stating that was to acknowledge your statement in the discussion:
If this discussion doesn't resolve the matter, as previous ones have failed, then this needs to be RfCed at WP:VPPOL and actually settled permanently (one way or the other).
I didn't want my close to foreclose that route if you so choose. voorts (talk/contributions) 16:05, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
