[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 19:19, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- Okay sure. When I gather up enough sources I'll be sure to add them, in the meantime can you please also put up the sources of music critics critizing the production and one that says that the reception of the album was only generally positive.
- Thanks in advance and have a great day! Vnectarofthegods (talk) 20:20, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

- Can these 2 be used as sources, cause they accumulate more than 120 music critics, music blogs, music journals, magazines etc., which ultimately indicate that Ocean Blvd was critically acclaimed by many publishers including Pitchfork, the Guardian, Telegraph, Needledrop, and many others. Best regards! Vnectarofthegods (talk) 20:30, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Vnectarofthegods. Another user asked me, as an admin, to look into your editing since, as you've been warned below, you are regularly restoring content you have added that was deleted as unsourced. But since you asked this question yesterday in good faith, I'll give you an answer.
- The editors who work on articles about albums (a group you're welcome to join if you plan to work on more of those articles), have compiled a list of sources they don't consider reliable, and AOTY is one of them, as you'll see at the link (which further has a link to the discussion where that decision was made, and a summary of the conclusion: "No clear editorial discretion between sources, including several amateur critics alongside otherwise reliable/professional ones.").
- However, Any Decent Music? isn't on that list, and if our article about it (a plus in this department for me, that we have one) describes it as being similar to Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, whose score for their aggregated reviews we regularly mention in articles about films and TV shows, I don't see right now why you couldn't use it as a source.
- Feel free to hit reply and ask me for more help if you need it. You might also want to post your questions about this at WT:ALBUM, where there are likely to be editors more knowledgeable about this subject than I am. Daniel Case (talk) 19:59, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Daniel, thank you so much for your thorough reply!
- Personally, I like to contribute to music albums, songs, etc. that I love, so to be banned from making any contributions would be a shame, but since I'm fairly new to making edits on Wikipedia I didn't know there were some restrictions, so apologies to that. Having that in mind, maybe one day I'll join the group you mentioned, and if so what are the means needed to be taken in order to achieve that?
- And finally, I'd like to confirm, if I understood well, making an edit that Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd by Lana Del Rey was critically acclaimed and adding a source from Any Decent Music? is okay? Since once again I wouldn't like to be banned and your help means a lot!
- Thanks in advance and best regards! Vnectarofthegods (talk) 20:40, 24 June 2024 (UTC)
- You can join the albums project per the instructions here. Just add {{WikiProject Albums}} to your userpage (copy and paste that text, including the brackets (or if you take it from the source code, take out the "tl"). A bot will add you to the project. You might also want to go to the project talk page, introduce yourself as a new user, talk about what articles you're looking to develop or start, and what sort of guidance you're looking for as to how to do it.
- Yes, as far as I can tell, ADM would be fine. It seems other articles have used it as a source without complaint, and I didn't find any discussions of it archived at the reliable sources noticeboard (the usual place where people discuss this issue). There is one discussion on WT:ALBUM from eight years ago where, as one participant says, its reliability isn't in question (the issue, it seems, was whether its aggregate scores are duplicative of MetaCritic's) Daniel Case (talk) 20:28, 25 June 2024 (UTC)

- Stop trying to force your opinion into the article. There were no music critics, but one did not call Lana Del Rey's latest album her "magnum opus". Do not combine material from multiple sources to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any of the sources (WP:SYNTH). And these edits here are definitely a violation of WP:SYNTH.
