[edit]Welcome, and thank you for contributing the page ಅಕೋಡಾ to Wikipedia. While you have added the page to the English version of Wikipedia, the article is not in English. We invite you to translate it into English. It has been listed at Pages needing translation into English, but if it is not translated within two weeks, the article will be listed for deletion. Thank you. Equine-man (talk) 22:07, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, Equine-man! Please delete that page, as I mistakenly wrote the article in Kannada in Wikipedia English page (https://wiki.riteme.site). Let me create the page in English first, and then, translate it to Kannada for https://kn.wikipedia.org. Vgbhat123 (talk) 22:10, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, you can delete your edits and write it in English if you want. Equine-man (talk) 22:12, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Equine-man, somehow, I don't see 'delete' option in the page. Since I am not the administrator, I may be missing that? Please show me where can I go to delete the newly created page. Thanks! Vgbhat123 (talk) 23:25, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
- No problem @Vgbhat123, I have put a notice on that you are requesting deleting. Equine-man (talk) 15:42, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for your contributions to ಅಕೋಡಾ. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and article needs to be translated before publishing. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. CycloneYoris talk! 01:32, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

- Hi @PARAKANYAA -- I see that you have reviewed my AfC for "Murder of Neha Hiremath." Thanks for that. But, I didn't get the reason for decling it, as this is a major event which happened in the state of Karnataka in India. It is a big news (similar to any big murder case in the western world). Moreoever, if there is a murder and there is a corresponding judidicial trial, it deserves to be part of Wikipedia content. I see hundreds of such Wiki Pages from India and western countries. This page will be similar to that. Am I wrong? Thanks! Vgbhat123 (talk) 16:51, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
- You aren't wrong in that we do have a lot of pages like that, but my rationale in declining was that by our own rules we shouldn't. An event based article (like a murder) should either have long term continuous coverage or a significant impact on something like law or culture, not a short burst of news then never again. With your draft it was so soon after it is hard to tell, but I would not guess that it will have long term coverage or significant impact from what I'm seeing here. I could be wrong, in which case feel free to resubmit. PARAKANYAA (talk) 21:31, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, @PARAKANYAA for your response! This incident is making a big news in Karnataka state of India. So, it is not a small thing where there was some accident and someone died. Also, as I have observed in the USA, for every such crime, there is a Wiki page which will be helpful to the society from the history perspective and also, for anybody who wants to refer to it later. Someone, I didn't find not many Wiki pages for such heinous crimes and people tend to forget it and if anyone wants to check, there won't be any useful information on the Internet. So, I thought of creating the page for this incident and hopefully, others get inspired to create such pages to preserve our history. So, I have re-submitted it yesterday. Hopefully, it will be accepted. :-)
- By the way, I want to translate this page to 'Kannada' (ಕನ್ನಡ) language as well (the official language in the state of Karnataka). However, since the Wiki page is currently in the 'draft' state, I can't translate, right? Or, even in 'draft' version, can I translate to Kannada?
- Thanks! Vgbhat123 (talk) 02:58, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- Well, if you're translating content you wrote, there aren't copyvio issues so if you know the language you can just translate what you wrote and put it on knwiki, yes. If there are other people you must attribute the content so it is legally sound. PARAKANYAA (talk) 03:01, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

These links have been deleted, please do not re-add any such links, thank you - Arjayay (talk) 14:14, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, @Arjayay! That makes sense. I agree. Vgbhat123 (talk) 15:34, 25 April 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Vgbhat123! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Murder of Neha Hiremath that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 14:41, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
