Anti-Intellectualism Article
Hello. I've been trying to edit the anti-intellectualism article to remove bias and non-cited material which currently there is ALOT of. The section on religion is inconclusive as religion, contrary to many portrayals and depictions, is not the source. The best way I can combat this is by being bold as Wikipedia encourages and deleting the biased sections. Can you reverse your decision to revert my removal of content or give me an alternative to removing the bias? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.72.3.164 (talk) 08:52, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Romanesqu architecture
I'm just alerting you to an ongoing problem. I notice that you recently reverted 2 vandalistic edits. The edit to which you reverted was also by an unnamed editore and was not exactly vandalism but was inane, ungrammatic, out-of-place and also needed reverting. The problem that occurs when experienced editors revert only part of the damage is that the problem that they have left behind can then go unnoticed. A whole section of Fra Angelico's life went missing for three months before I entirely reread the article, tracked the problem and sorted it out. Please be diligent in checking all the unnamed edits when you revert. Amandajm (talk) 09:24, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
:Can you please show me which article I did that? I can't find my revert in the Fra Angelico article. Versus22 talk 18:09, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- I thought that revision was okay. I couldn't find that little error after I reverted the vandal edit. The article has so much text that it was hard for me to find, but I'm glad you found the error. Normally when I revert, I often check if there are any other vandal edits as well (sometimes I miss), but I'm doing my best to removed unwanted text that was in the article. Again, sorry about that and thanks! Versus22 talk 18:31, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

What your postion on the iraq war? do you support it or are against it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.186.67.7 (talk) 11:38, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- I wished the war stopped. However in Wikipedia related things, why do you continue to blank huge chunks of the Iraq War article and putting nonsense in? That is not really productive. Versus22 talk 11:47, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
You are clearly missing the point !! If you would like to join some of the standards committees that actually develop this type of information, feel free to contact either me, ANSI, AIIM, or ISO.
I have been attempting to correct this page with industry standard information such as from ISO 229957, ISO 15801, AIIM ARP 1 and numerous other ACKNOWLEDGED AND APPROVED STANDARD SETTING BODIES such as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM), and the International Standard Organization (ISO). As the Committee Chair for several of these standardization committees and a member of several ISO technical committees, I have been providing you with the corrected text. Please either leave the industry standardized information and not that from organizations or individuals who are only sharing their personal beliefs out of the wikipedia as all that does is limit the value this website has. I will continue to correct this type of erroneous information and insert the text that has been vetted through the official standards development process. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.129.56.224 (talk) 12:11, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- I personally don't see your edits constructive. What you put in recently is sort of written like an ad, plus the page looks really messy on a Wikipedia article. You removed a whole lot of content which in my views it's vandalism and I had to revert it. Also, you blanked the whole page on one edit that I had to revert as well. Versus22 talk 12:29, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
So, then your approach rather than following industry standards, is to delete the industry accepted descriptions? Feel free to contact me directly, as I am the committee chair-person for several of these ANSI/AIIM and ISO standard setting efforts ! I have made the corrections again, and hope you won't simply delete this message to you in an effort to revert the pages back again without people having an opportuntity to see who is providing the corrections —Preceding unsigned comment added by Robert-blatt (talk • contribs) 12:38, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Gotta be careful when reverting
See this edit. While the IP did remove some legitimate material, it also was removing a classic example of vandalism/defamation. Your work is appreciated. You just have to make sure you see what you're restoring, because sometimes the IP's removal of information is semi-justified. Obviously it would've been better had the IP used an edit summary, but oh well... Enigmamsg 05:11, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
- The reason why I revert that was that he didn't give an edit summary why he removed that section. Versus22 talk 05:13, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yes. What I'm saying is that you can't blanket-revert for not using an edit summary if the IP is removing vandalism. Removing what looks like legitimate content without an edit summary is ok to revert, but not if the edit is removing paragraphs of vandalism. Enigmamsg 05:22, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Hey Versus: First of all, great job on the vandal reverts! Second, I was looking at your user page and noticed that it's incredibly neat. I was wondering if you could possibly take a look at mine... - Well, there is a list that shows recent activity of articles being edited on the left side of the program, but you can only see one article at a time. The diff on the right is the current revision, and the diff on the left is the previous revision. To use Huggle, you must have Rollback rights, by having some anti-vandalism experience (i.e: vandalism fighter). I notice you also reverted some questionable changes to this article. This may be turning into another Sarah Palin situation, one of the POV pushing editors is claiming the article is being used for political purposes, and it does seem to consist mostly of negative information. - I've tried to fix it up, but there is a lot of clumsy POV editing going on. It was going back and forth between a blatant attack piece and a total whitewash, I think I've managed to make a little more neutral. Beeblebrox (talk) 03:27, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

AFD comments about IP "votes"
At several Afds relisted today, you have advocated counting the "votes" of certain IP editors. As described in the DRV discussions, those IPs have been determined to be sockpuppets of the AFD nominator. Counting them would clearly be inappropriate. Could you please revise your comments? The nominator's behavior was not correct, and other discussions indicated some very odd behavior -- at one point, he apparently was nominating one or more Oscar winners for speedy deletion without explanation! Watchmen
Please watch who you accuse of vandalizing a page. The infobox is for the theatrical release of a film. If a film is released theatrically with different cuts (like Alien (film) was, then you would make not of the various run times of the film. ALL films are edited for time, and most films nowadays come with an "uncut" or "director's cut" version. That does not change the fact that when originally released there was only 1 run time. The various cuts (which do not even exist yet) are already mentioned later in the article, at their appropriate placement. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 23:02, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

About "Softies"
This song is listed as being the new Weezer single, but the page gives NO SOURCES and no sources confirming this can be found. It has been edited constantly since being put up and I think it should be deleted until a valid source can be given. THAT is why I made the edit to it that I did. Please do something about this, if you're able to. 64.53.37.3 (talk) 05:01, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- Why did you revert my edit? There are NO SOURCES given here. I simply removed the very, very questionable information. I can't find any sources, neither can anyone at the Weezer messageboard I go to. This is, uh, bunk, and it's worthless to keep the info up unless there is a valid source. 64.53.37.3 (talk) 05:06, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, can you pass along the IP of the page creator, that way the admins at the weezer message board can see if it belongs to anyone there (which, if it is a joke, it most likely will).

Don't even bother warning when stuff like this happens.
If it's happening to specific page or user page (and they haven't stated they don't want otherwise), report it to page protection; they'll never see the warning you post and you could have done something with the seconds you just wasted. Random IP bombings literally aren't worth warning. Just clean up and cut them off. HalfShadow 21:50, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Bush (band): You may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. sandi thom
Hi versus22, how do ?
I'm a brand new wiki user, still finding my feet a little.
Ive been trying to make changes to the singer sandi thom's page but with no luck. The page as it stands is a smear campaign designed to embarass and ridicule sandi thom and her music, im trying to make positive changes and present the truth.
I have left edit summaries with each step, be they concerned with punctuation, spelling,re-working paragraphs, removing erroneous info and adding factual info.
The page as it stands has been written by someone with far more wiki user experience and computer knowledge than myself, there are a lot of cited sources and references etc, all negative press about sandi thom . it is a very well researched and presented page with an obvious negative opinion of sandi thom.
i would like to present her in a positive and fair way, i would like to make serious alterations to this page, involving deleting most of what is currently on the page.
if you have a minute, please take a look at the page and see for yourself how anti-sandi it really is.
many thanks

Michael Stipe's Homosexuality
You deleted my reference to Michael Stipe's homosexuality in the Saved! calling it "not constructive"!! What is "not constructive" about it???? The film clearly takes a political stance against Christian evangelicals, and their alleged hatred of gays. The fact that Stipe and the other producer are both very publicly gay is very relevant to the article. The fact that the film chastises Evangelicals for their stand on Homosexuals is not a matter of dispute.
Not to mention that Stipe is gay is absurd. He is public about that fact, it is mentioned on R.E.M.'s wiki entry as well as Stipe's wiki entry.
In regards to the article, there are readers who may be unaware of Stipe's sexual preference, and this defacto omission ends up making the article incomplete and seems to be an example of absurd political correctness. Stipe's gayness clearly effects his politics and this film clearly is, at the very least, biased against some groups of Christians.
If you feel the way Stipe's sexuality was broached in the article was not constructive, perhaps there is a point there, but his political viewpoints and his pro-gay activism is totally relevant when it comes to a film that has been accused of being anti Christian.
The fact that you deleted the reference as not being constructive, but do not explain why you feel that way, and what specifically is "not constructive" about it shows a lack of respect in my opinion. Maybe that is not how you intended it. (24.62.100.100 (talk) 00:37, 13 March 2009 (UTC))

Australian Handball
There has been a quite comprehensive article on this subject [also via Downball] for over 2 years now. As a long-standing physical educator, my own professional involvement and even my personal history with this game has spanned some 40 to 50 years. The article, as has been previously constituted, has been quite useful, comparatively accurate and highly informative to researchers or young people interested in the subject and the game in its entirety. For some reason, someone has completely ditched the original work of all these other people and previous editors, and simply raised his own, extremely limited version and understanding of things as 'Gospel'. Can you please revert article to the original acknowledging the countless hours of work which the many previous editors have invested into the 'Australian Handball' article? If this appears to be the case then such an edit should not be treated as vandalism. Instead, the editor should be welcomed and invited to explain his/her concerns with the article." That's likely why he was blanking it. Daniel (talk) 03:58, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- PS: Those reverts were shocking. Irregardless of whatever had transpired before, reverting to restore a category which accuses a living person of pederasty is just totally not on. You must be accountable for your own reverts, especially on living people. Daniel (talk) 04:00, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- His blanking the page was wrong, but in the ones where he was removing the cats, it sounds like you were blind-reverting without even looking at the contrib, which is exactly what huggle's not for. No harm done, just a warning to be more careful with the tool. Wizardman 03:23, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- It won't happen again (my reverts) for those category removals. Versus22 talk 04:03, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- I trust blindly reverting a BLP which has been blanked by a new user without thoroughly reviewing the contents won't happen either. Daniel (talk) 04:05, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- I must admit, that I was also reverting based on other reverts, and this may have caused Versus22 to make the same mistake as I did. I take responsibility for this little mess that was created, and apologize to the parties involved. UntilItSleeps PublicPC 16:27, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism
Hey Versus!
Just FYI, I have blocked 92.40.0.0/16 for 72 hours, so his fun should be over. If he gets onto another range, do you want me to just protect, or do you want me to wait and see if I can hammer in another rangeblock? J.delanoygabsadds 22:54, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hammer one more then protect after. Versus22 talk 22:56, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Lyme disease
I made no such edit to the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.75.34.58 (talk) 01:33, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
- Just to let you know that this is an IP address, which means that it may have been used by another person to make that edit. Versus22 talk 01:40, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
User talk semiprotection
Hey Versus, I've protected this page for three days after a request was made at WP:RFPP. It looks like you've been getting hammered pretty good lately. If you'd like the protection to be longer, or shorter, or not at all, just let me know. Take care. --Bongwarrior (talk) 18:52, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Re: Thank you! :)
You're very welcome! I'm glad to see that pernicious vandalizing twit got blocked eventually. Also, thanks for the barnstar; it really made my day! Sophus Bie (talk) 00:38, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for the help with that vandal on Simple.Wikipedia! Having your talk page redirect here is going to be a pain when sending you messages. Cheers, Razorflame 06:48, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. Okay my simple discussion is back. Sorry. Versus22 talk 06:53, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Your edits
Hi Versus. Can I ask you to refrain from making edits like this please? I understand your frustration, but that is not helping the situation at all. I believe you've been warned about this in the past, so please refrain from doing so. It gives Grawp a kick as well and sends the IRC bots crazy! :) Thanks. PeterSymonds (talk) 20:24, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- OK, sorry. I won't do that anymore.. Versus22 talk 20:28, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

my talk
Thank you for creating a talk archive for me. Cheers! --199.71.174.100 (talk) 23:01, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
- Not a problem! It was getting pretty long, so I archived it all until the 2009 discussion. :) Best, Versus22 talk 23:07, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Question
I noticed this edit you made (reverting multiple users). How do you do that? I've searched the Huggle manual and couldn't find it anywhere. Thanks, LittleMountain5 review! 16:29, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- You just go back to the previous (bad) revision and push the red circle or the R button. :) Versus22 talk 16:37, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Well, that's simple enough! Thanks, LittleMountain5 review! 16:41, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
vandelism
I keep making a constructive edit to a particular page and you keep reverting it even though my edit is 100% OK!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.37.3.227 (talk) 16:35, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- I haven't reverted your edits other than the one in December. Versus22 talk 16:40, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Thats BS b/c you reverted a change I made on the Queer as Folk (North American Series) to make it politically correct. What article did you revert in December of mine? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.37.3.227 (talk) 16:44, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- My name is not even in the history (50 recent edits) of the Queer as Folk (North American TV series). Versus22 talk 16:49, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Well it showed up on my computer screen. Thats how I found you. Please help me correct the article by inserting (five "homosexual" men) instead of "gay". and also (frank depiction of "alternative lifestyles"). This would be the politically correct way of putting the SAME information instead of being highly offensive to people like myself. Im sorry for the comments earlier its just your sn showed up. IDK why. I dont even know what "greatsword" is so, I dont mind that reversion. :) Thanks Could you help me with this? TreyGeek keeps changing it to be offensive. Very much appreciated —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.37.3.227 (talk) 16:54, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
How do I appeal to wikipedia.org and have them prevent the reversions? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.37.3.227 (talk) 17:04, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Use the article's talk page to bring up what needs to be improved for that article. Versus22 talk 17:11, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
I did this but he kept reverting it anyways. Can I block him from making reversions to this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Navyboi7 (talk • contribs) 17:17, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- OK... instead of keeping on doing those actions you should bring it up to the article's talk page rather than trying to edit war with other users. Edit warring is not a good thing to do, because it is disruptive and it really fills up various logs. What you want to do is try to reach consensus with others. - You're welcome! I hope you enjoy it. About that message I have above, you create a Editnotice page (either your user or user talk page). It allows you to put in a message for users, and then once it's saved, that message will show up when you click edit this page in your main user and/or user talk page. You can also read WP:EDITNOTICE for more info. Best, Versus22 talk 14:56, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Protection of Peter Jones
I'm guessing you're an admin and I'd like to make some suggestions about the Peter Jones (entrepreneur) page as I have noticed several problems with it
1. I'd like to suggest placing a semi-protection notice on it due to persistant vandlism (i.e calling him a c*** and a racist)
2. 1 of the main vandles is 93.97.240.44, I'd like to request that he be blocked due to his vandlism
Please tell me what you think The C of E (talk) 16:03, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, I'm actually not an admin, sorry! However, you can send a request for page protection here. Thanks! :) Versus22 talk 16:08, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Can you explain the vandalism at Newhall? Seems that someone needs a ban, do you agree? Victuallers (talk) 16:06, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yes. I reverted this edit because the IP put in f***nuts, which I really thought it was an unconstructive edit. Versus22 talk 22:16, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the cleanup
Thanks for taking care of the trash on my talk page. Cheers! Monkey Bounce (talk) 20:58, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

This guy is so persistant, I expedited everything and went to AIV not just for 3RR violations but for making a legal threat here Momusufan (talk) 17:44, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't like it that he called you a vandal, as you do good work here. Also, what is wrong with a WHOIS tag? Versus22 talk 17:47, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
There is nothing wrong with the whois tag, I was only identifying which ISP it belonged to. Thats public information. Momusufan (talk) 17:49, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Yes I know. However, they seem that it shows their name... it doesn't. I think it just shows the provider. I don't know why the IP is so attached to that. Versus22 talk 17:53, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
I got no idea, anyway I made a report at ANI. Momusufan (talk) 17:57, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sure it will be interesting. Versus22 talk 17:58, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
It was quickly done, IP Blocked for making the legal threat. Momusufan (talk) 18:10, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
