ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:59, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

August 2024

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doug Weller. I noticed that you recently removed content from Hyperdiffusionism without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The section says "He wrote New Age and hyperdiffusionist works supporting the pseudoarchaeological". Doug Weller talk 12:35, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,I explained why I did it in the edit summary. Umald (talk) 12:43, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yep. You said " section was irrelevant to the subject, discussing his politics only)" which was false as it mentions it. In fact he's well known for his hyperdiffusionism. Doug Weller talk 12:53, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, did you read it at all? Your reply is false as currently that section is an just an excerpt from the Frank Collin article (first paragraph), you may know that he's well known for his hyperdiffusionism but the excerpt doesn't elaborate on that. Actually it doesn't mention it at all. Probably not a good idea to use just an excerpt here, I'm sorry if you were offended my edit (I quoted the other article's later paragraphs mentioning his hyperdiffusionism). Umald (talk) 13:24, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop these bad faith accusations. It mentioned it even if it didn't elaborate on it. I quoted it in my first post. I didn't add the excerpt. Yes, it needed more and I rewrote it. You could have and should have done that, or asked on the talk page for it to be done, rather than remove it. But never mind, it's better now. Doug Weller talk 14:17, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply, topic closed then. Umald (talk) 16:05, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
