March GOCE copyedit drive
Notes from the Guild of Copy Editors
The March 2014 backlog elimination drive is a month-long effort to reduce the backlog of articles in need of copyediting. The drive begins on March 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on March 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to copyedit all articles tagged in December 2012 and January 2013 and to complete all requests placed in January 2014. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copyedits at least one article, and special awards will be given to the top five in the following categories: number of articles, number of words, number of articles over 5,000 words, number of articles tagged in December 2012 and January 2013 and the longest article. We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Jonesey95, Baffle gab1978 and Miniapolis To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list.

Loewy decompositions
Yes, it does. In my book on Loewy decompositions, Chapter 3, special systems with a finite dimensional solution space, are considered. In principle, the concept of a Loewy decomposition applies to arbitrary linear systems. However, a lot of work will be necessary to develop algorithms for generating the decompositions explicitly.

I uploaded a new image but it did not replace the old thumbnail photo as intended.
Please help,
I uploaded a new image but it did not replace the old thumbnail photo as intended. How do I get new uploaded image to be the thumbnail photo for the Pete Pirsch page?

Thumbnail pic on Pete Pirsch page
Hello Ukexpat,
I thought I followed your directions on how to add an image that was already uploaded to Wikipedia Commons but if you pull up Pete's wikipedia page (Pete Pirsch) it no longer shows any photo at all and instead shows the text "File:Pete Pirsch District 04 01.jpg/thumb/Pete Pirsch running for Attorney General" but not the actual photo by that name that I uploaded earlier this morning. How do I get his web page to actually show the photo?
Thanks for your help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.37.229.149 (talk) 18:25, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
Copyright info
Hi Red Pen of Doom,
I spoke with Bess in the Nebraska Unicameral Information Office today (2/26/14) and she said that this image was fine for Pete to use on his wikipedia page. How do I say that the photo is courtesy of the Nebraska Unicameral Information Office?
Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lcmueller (talk • contribs) 18:54, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

regarding article
I am the author of the article Syedna Taher Saifuddin. I am sorry to hurt your feelings. I have explained the issue in short in the remarks itself. I thank you for your efforts and again for approaching me. But seeing your edit it is very difficult to say that it is a good faith edit. The way you have blanked out content, changed the structure and also changed the meanings of content. I know that you are very experienced and have been on Wikipedia for a long time, i am new here. If i am making a mistake you should guide me in that regard such that i learn how not to make such mistakes. Your edits have totally floored me. I can just not understand your contention regarding the article. If you can discuss the same in talk page i will be greatly obliged. It will also help me when i write more articles. Thank you again for your time and efforts. Araz5152 (talk) 02:58, 28 February 2014 (UTC)

ADMINISTRATOR?
Hiya, are you a user with advanced permissions? I was directed to you repeatedly and without any discussion edit warring this external link http://www.culteducation.com/reference/swamichet/swamichet2.html into a wikipedia article about a living person, why did you repeatedly (three times) re-add this external without any investigation into its appropriateness, and do you still consider your actions in repeatedly reinserting it without any investigation to the external were correct? - you appear one of the most experianced contributors to the wikipedia website, over eight and a half years editing here and you appear to opine and contribute to the biography of living peoples noticeboard, so you have much experiance of the wikipedia settings and rules, do you not? Under those circumstances, please explain why you did that?
After the article was deleted you finally made a comment at the board, here it is, "As the article has now been deleted, I cannot see its history but as far as I can recall, Ms O'Neal removed the reference without explanation. I reverted during recent changes patrol, but obviously I should have looked at it more closely. I had no dog in this fight so was not motivated by any intention to "defame". -User:Ukexpat 01:21, 9 March 2014
You replaced this external three times without a single look at it to investigate?Mosfetfaser (talk) 09:11, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
- See this previous explanation that Ukexpat gave three days ago. Ukexpat is not an administrator. I am, and have checked the history of the deleted article. I do not see any edit-warring. The weblink (which was being used as a reference, not an external link) was added back twice (not three times) by Ukexpat, the first time after it was removed without explanation, and the second time after all the sources in the article were removed. BencherliteTalk 10:14, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I linked to that above - I can not see it, I remembered he replaced it three times - He re-added it without any discussion or investigation, do you see that as correct Bencherlite? Please allow access to the revision history for investigation Bencherlite.Mosfetfaser (talk) 10:16, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
- I didn't notice you had linked to it (you hadn't the first time I read the message, and you expanded your message between me reading it and replying). No, twice, not three times, your memory is incorrect. I'll leave Ukexpat to explain what he did and didn't do, but I do wonder what you're trying to achieve in the light of his previous explanation, particularly now that you've been told he's not an administrator (something you could have found out for yourself). And I cannot allow access to the deleted version for investigation, because to do that I'd have to undelete it which would be inappropriate. What further investigation do you want? Ukexpat made a couple of minor copyedits/category additions, then two further edits as mentioned above, then nothing further before it was deleted. BencherliteTalk 10:26, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
- You support Ukxpats edits as within wikipedia policy do you Bencherlite? Mosfetfaser (talk) 10:34, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
- Where do I say that? I'm not here to defend Ukexpat, merely to give you (and him) the facts as to what he did to the article since neither of you can see the article history as it's been deleted, and to correct mistaken impressions on your part (that he is an administrator, that he reinserted the link three times as opposed to two, that he was edit-warring). Ukexpat has already said "obviously I should have looked at it more closely" so what more do you want him to say? BencherliteTalk 10:39, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

What is exactly the reviewing of a user's page?
Dear Ukexpat, Thank you for reviewing my page. But why did you do that, what does this mean? Is it a Wikipedia practice for new users' page? Sorry to ask, but I am still in the early stages of the learning process.. I thought I had managed to create a decent user page with few lines in it and then I went through your user page! Nice userboxes - I didn't know they existed and users can add this kind of information and visuals on their pages. Lots of fun. Mark.int (talk) 01:22, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
