Control copyright icon Hello Tuscan Prince! Your additions to Draft:Perception Anomaly Detection Algorithm have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. Information icon Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. However, please do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, wikis, personal websites, and websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight. These sources may express views that are widely acknowledged as pushing a particular point-of-view, sometimes even extremist, being promotional in nature, or relying heavily on rumors and personal opinions. One of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. If you require further assistance, please look at Help:Menu/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 13:50, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There are many articles citing purely arXiv and online sources. Code repositories where users can actually use the method are much more reliable than a publication. The software is available and being used successfully. Tuscan Prince (talk) 13:56, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, there are many articles that are not reliable sources as Wikipedia defines such (see WP:RS). You're welcome to try to get the sourcing guidelines changed, but until you do we should follow them. MrOllie (talk) 14:08, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is one of these your github? Are you associated with the author (Nassir Mohammad) in some way? MrOllie (talk) 14:10, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Tuscan Prince. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Anomaly detection, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 21:38, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I talked and listened to MrOllie regarding adding references from arXiv, GitHub or pypi even though the methods are real and referenced.
Regarding recent edits that keep getting undone, I added new method HBOS with reference to research paper cited over 500 times, and organised the methods list. There are also clearly unnecessary citations that didn't make much sense. Tuscan Prince (talk) 06:21, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
