Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Dcgomes77, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Arquivo.pt - the Portuguese web-archive, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! IffyChat -- 09:33, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Arquivo.pt - the Portuguese web-archive, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Draft:Daniel Gomes

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself, at Draft:Daniel Gomes. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. :Jay8g [VTE] 18:52, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Renames do not invalidate other Wikipedia policies

[edit]

Given your expression of security concerns, I erred on the side of caution. That being said, if you violate Wikipedia policy or procedure under this new name, there will be consequences. Sanctions may include blocking, banning, and rename reversals. Please keep this in mind and hopefully you will partake of Wikipedia in the way it was meant. Thank you. -- Avi (talk) 16:54, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Truthmemento. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Kovcszaln6 (talk) 16:04, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Truthmemento! Your additions to Arquivo.pt have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 00:40, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

which ones? Every thing added is open access information. Truthmemento (talk) 08:00, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I found the matching content on this page, which is marked as copyright. — Diannaa (talk) 11:41, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here is the license for the repository that contains that text: https://github.com/arquivo/pwa-technologies?tab=GPL-3.0-1-ov-file#readme
I am not a lawyer but it does not seem that I inflicted any copyright.
What do you think? Truthmemento (talk) 11:50, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
GNU license alone is not a compatible license. It must also be licensed under a compatible Creative Commons license. See WP:Compatible license for a list of compatible licenses. — Diannaa (talk) 11:55, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wow that is a whole new level of bureaucracy. Nevermind. I just leave the suggestion that it would be more constructive to edit the texts than deleting voluntary contributions. Best regards. Truthmemento (talk) 12:21, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but due to the large volume of potential copyright cases to assess each day, it's not possible for me to perform rewrites on all of them. — Diannaa (talk) 12:39, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
