Edit summary

[edit]

I notice some of your excellent edits on the 2006 Ohio State Buckeyes football team article. Just wanted to let you know, you don't have to add four tildes (~~~~) to the Edit summary, just when your on talk & discussion pages, When filling out edit summaries just add what the edits pertained to, for example: fixed spelling, adding new information about..., or revert vandalism. Please keep up the good work! ▪◦▪=Sirex98= 20:45, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of New Orleans

[edit]

Your continued insistence on the French spelling in Battle of New Orleans is counterproductive and unappreciated. Please stop.--chris.lawson 22:15, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Military History WikiProject

[edit]

Hi! I couldn't help but notice that a lot of your edits are in the field of Military History. I don't know if you're aware, but Wikipedia has a Military History WikiProject, one of the largest and certainly the most organized Projects on the site. We're always looking for interested folks to help out as much or as little as they are able--you make some good edits, and we can use someone like you. Just add your name to the list of participants and the Lead Coordinator, Kirill Lokshin, will send you a personal welcome to the project and suggestions of things that need some work. There are many task forces within the project that you can join as well, including a WWII Task Force, a U.S. Military Task Force, a Classical Warfare Task Force (Ancient Rome and Greece, etc.), and a Russian and Soviet Task Force (which covers the Cold War of course), and dozens more--one for every type of person, basically. Feel free to sign up for as many as you're interested in, but please come join us! --ScreaminEagle 00:52, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:Breen Confederacy logo.png. However, Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 03:49, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Russian

[edit]

Hello. Please do not make edits such as this one. While Wikipedia's guidelines regarding romanization of Russian allow both variants, changing one in favor of another is not recommended. Please respect the choice the original contributor made. Thank you.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 20:48, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great job on Futurama

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thanks, and happy editing.

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the War is the H-Word page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. Mr.Z-mantalk 22:49, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to the February 2007 North America winter storm page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. If you have quality work to add to the article, please feel free to do so. WindRunner 22:06, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request for edit summary

[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. – Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 02:40, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Issues

[edit]

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

  1. Please stop changing "i.e." to all-lower case at the beginning of sentences or headings (bad grammar in the first instance and against the Manual of Style in the second).
  2. Please stop changing UK to US spellings in articles. Doing so is considered disruptive. Please see the Manual of Style on this matter (short version: If the article already uses UK English, it stays that way, and the Logorrhoea article does so - it is not Logorrhea.)
  3. Please stop editwarring over your preferred interpretation of the Yes, Minister quote in the above-mentioned article. Your longer (i.e. logorrhoeic) version totally misses the point. This has already been explained to you once (in edit summary; if you are not aware of edit summaries, click on the "history" tab at the top of this page and you'll see edit summaries relating to the posts that people have made here; mine reads "Some issues I'd like to bring to your attention.")
  4. Please write edit summaries with your own posts, as other users have already reminded you, above; your edits otherwise look like likely vandalism.

Hawaii is used as its the name of the islands in English, in the same way we don't call Geneva 'Genevé' in reference, as thats not the commonly known name for it. Narson 01:41, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Where are you getting that Doc Daneeka's first name is Dan? I've read that book ten times and never seen that. If you can give me a chapter to prove me wrong, I'd appreciate it. Czolgolz (talk) 15:16, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Surprisingly (to me), most of your bold changes in links and typography labelled as WP:minor edits actually do qualify as minor ones. But [this one] does not. Also, you was wrong that

The correct statement is: "one should not talk about matrices without specifying from whence their entries hail". This makes sense, indeed. Examples provided are valid over any unital ring (but the trivial), and with minor modifications ;) can serve over non-unital rings (Rng) too. Even over the trivial ring examples do not give "zero divisors" not because they do not divide 0, but because there are no non-zero elements at all ;) You made a mistake inserting an off-topical  field with your edit. Structure and properties of the base ring virtually have nothing to do with the example. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 13:36, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
