Now That's What I Call Music! 74 (American series) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Now That's What I Call Music! 74 (American series), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Creating new articles
[edit]Creating new articles from a blank start is one of the harder tasks on Wikipedia, perhaps the hardest an inexperienced user is likely to face. In future I urge you to use the Article Wizard to create a draft under the Articles for Creation project. There, an experienced editor will review your draft once you think it is ready. Only when a reviewer approves will the draft be moved to the main article space. This avoids the situation where a deletion is requested soon after the initial version of an article is posted. Also, please read Wikipedia's Golden Rule and Your First Article, if you have not already done so. The advice there can be very helpful, in my view. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 15:09, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
Some steps which, if followed, often lead to success are:
- First, review our guideline on notability, our policy on Verifiability, and our specific guideline on the notability of musical topics. Consider whether your subject clearly meets the standards listed there. Also, check if the topic is already covered, perhaps under a different spelling or in a section of an article about a wider topic. You will waste a lot of time, if you create a new article, and then find that the encyclopedia already has an article about that.
- Second, read how to create Your First Article and referencing for beginners and again consider if you want to go ahead.
- Third, If you have any connection or affiliation with the subject, disclose it in accordance with our guideline on Conflict of interest. If you have been or expect to be paid for making edits, or are making them as part of your job, disclose this according to the strict rules of the Paid-contribution disclosure. This is absolutely required; omitting it can result in you being blocked from further editing.
- Fourth, gather sources. You want independent, professionally published, reliable sources with each discussing the subject in some detail. If you can't find several such sources, stop; an article will not be created! Sources do NOT need to be online, or in English, although it is helpful if at least some are. The "independent" part is vital. Wikipedia does not consider as independent sources such as press releases, or news stories based on press releases, or anything published by the subject itself or an affiliate of the subject. Strictly local coverage is also not preferred. Regional or national newspapers or magazines, books published by mainstream publishers (not self-published), or scholarly journals are usually good. So are online equivalents of these. (Additional sources may verify particular statements but not discuss the subject in detail. But those significant detailed sources are needed first.)
- Fifth, use the article wizard to create a draft under the articles for creation project. This is always a good idea for an inexperienced editor, but in the case of an editor with a conflict of interest it is essential.
- Sixth, use the sources gathered before (and other sources you may find along the way) to write the article. Cite all significant statements to sources. Do not express opinions or judgements, unless they are explicitly attributed to named people or entities, preferably in a direct quotation, and cited to a source. Do not use puffery or marketing-speak. Provide page numbers, dates, authors and titles for sources to the extent these are available. A title is always needed. Submit the draft when you think it is ready for review. Be prepared to wait a while for a review (several weeks or more).
- Seventh, when (well perhaps if) your draft is declined, pay attention to the comments of the reviewer, and correct the draft and resubmit it. During this whole process, if you face any unresolvable editing hurdles, or cannot comprehend any editing issue, feel free to post a request at the Teahouse or the help desk and ask the regulars. Repeat this until the draft passes review.
Congratulations, you have now created a valid Wikipedia article. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 15:09, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

Now That's What I Call Music! 75 (American series)
[edit]If you want to start a new article called Now That's What I Call Music! 75 (American series) then please just do so, although much better as a Draft, but don't hijack a perfectly proper existing redirect. There may be an argument for converting this redirect into a disambiguation page at some stage, but it should not be hijacked and moved to a different name to be re-used for a different purpose. Velella Velella Talk 10:30, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Response from User:Trevortnidesserped
[edit]Ok, sorry for the misunderstanding. I still don't quite understand what you're saying. If it's a redirect, then nobody can access it, and I feel like it should be linked on that page, since it's part of that subject matter. Also, if you're removing the link then it just looks like you deleted it. I don't even know how to access it anymore. Trevortnidesserped (talk) 16:43, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- What I am saying is that if there is an existing redirect, as there was, it is not acceptable to change its name and make it into a different article. It is permissible to change a redirect into an article provided that it is supported by reliable independent sources and that the title remains exactly as it was. Moving something to a new title and then adding content is categorically unacceptable. It is a very common ploy used by a certain type of vandal which I hope that you are not. Velella Velella Talk 17:27, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Response from User:Trevortnidesserped
[edit]So what do I do? My page is gone. This still doesn't make any sense to me. Are you saying that if my page follows a certain format, it qualifies for the main page to be linked to it? Trevortnidesserped (talk) 20:56, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:PPCocaineRapperInCarseatPhoto, unknown date.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:PPCocaineRapperInCarseatPhoto, unknown date.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Josh Milburn (talk) 14:19, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Your user page
[edit]Please would you consider removing your personal information about you and your family members from your user-page. Young editors can attract most unwelcome attention , mostly off wiki, and because of this it is very strongly recommended that you do not include any personal details about yourself on your userpage or elsewhere. Please see WP:YOUNG for more advice. You should also talk this over with a parent or guardian and , if required, request an admin to rev-del personal information previously published. Simply deleting text still leaves it fully visible in the history. Regards Velella Velella Talk 09:57, 31 October 2020 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:PictureOfCanadianComedianAdamBuckleyFrom2020Video.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 13:59, 8 November 2020 (UTC)
The article A Dose of Buckley has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 15:39, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Minor edits
[edit]Hiya, just wanted to drop a quick request about minor edits: you should really only be tagging your edits as "minor" if you're indeed making a "minor change", such as updating a number, fixing grammar, or other "small" changes. Changes like this or this, where you're adding an entire section, are definitely not minor and should not be tagged as such! Otherwise, editors may not see the change. Thanks. Conflict of interest editing
[edit]Hello, Trevortnidesserped. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Christina Pastor, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). - avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Speedy deletion nomination of Kids Castle, Castle Academy
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Kids Castle, Castle Academy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Ian Jeffrey (internet personality) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Ian Jeffrey (internet personality), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published.
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:PictureOfInternetPersonalityIanJeffrey.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you intend to continue to work on SuperMarioLogan, I suggest you delete the entire Early Life section. Has no relevance to his Youtube persona/career. David notMD (talk) 07:58, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
