Miss Dominican Republic 2009
Why did you revert the bot revert of a vandal on Miss Dominican Republic 2009? Nythar (talk) 07:37, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
- Fixed, thank you :). Nythar (talk) 07:59, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
- My apologies. Seems like I had some confusion with the Huggle interface. Tow (talk) 07:59, 8 May 2022 (UTC)
New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022
Hello Tow/Archives/2022,
At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.
Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.
In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 810 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 846 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.
This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.
If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Tow is a Steely-Eyed Missile Man
This is about the 15th time I've gone to revert an edit in Recent Changes only to see you've already done it and left a message on the vandal's talk. That's some impressive speed! Theo(talk) 17:07, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks! It's all WP:HG's power. Tow (talk) 17:08, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
- Still getting a bit more accustomed to WP policy, and then I think I may join you with that ;) Just wanna make sure I know what I'm doing first Theo(talk) 17:20, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
Disputing List of Cinematic Firsts Revert
You reverted edits I made to List of cinematic firsts "because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia". This does not make sense, because (1) everything I added was consistent with other material on the page, and (2) everything I added is already included elsewhere on wikipedia, namely on List of films shot on digital video prior to 2015 and A Generation. Additionally, just on a conceptual level, digital video and squibs are very pertinent to cinema and its history, so I don't understand why they would be deemed inappropriate on a list of cinematic firsts.
- Apologies, done in error. I have reverted my edit. Tow (talk) 18:10, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
- It was done initially because you linked to a Wordpress blog which is not a reliable source. It would be great if you could replace it with a better source. Cheers! Tow (talk) 18:12, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
- I'll work on improving the sources. Thanks! Gb321 (talk) 18:15, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
- Once again, my apologies for the error and thank you for your contributions! Tow (talk) 18:26, 23 May 2022 (UTC)
