Image Tagging Image:Justemiami.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Justemiami.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Agnte 17:53, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
Sources for Paul Denis
Hello, good work on Paul Denis, and thanks for the contribution. However, you did not any references to the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. From what websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Paul Denis? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? You can simply add links, or see WP:CITET if you wish to review some of the different citation methods. Thanks! Lupin|talk|popups 21:18, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
tell me what you think
I've tried to improve the Haitian elections, 2006 page. I think it's starting to look like a quality article. I want to add information for several of the other candidates so I'm going to work on that this week and this weekend. I also have been trying to add lots of sources from newspaper articles and such, think that's coming together good as well. Right now the article looks pretty good, if I do say so, but hopefully we can figure out a way to make it longer and more in depth. I have trouble finding information about the actual issues of the campaign and such. I'm not sure if you're Haitian and possibly speak Creole and/or french. Not sure if there is more information in those languages or not. Just wanted to get your thoughts on the page thus far. --MateoP 03:35, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Cd-buka.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Cd-buka.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

YoutubeTalk link, part 2
I've already responded with the assertion that the link is NOT spam, and I stand by that assertion. It's even cited on the Emmalina article, if you'd so kindly look. I request an explanation for your second deletion of the link from Youtube#External Links, or at least a suitable rebuttal to my assertion of the necessity for that link. Thank You. --Toussaint 13:07, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Farm issues, user page
Hi Toussaint,
Thanks for your help in keeping my user page clean!
Let me just mention that I'm not actually a farmer. My description of myself as a white South African living on a commercial farm is correct, but I actually rent a flat on a farm; I don't work there. --Slashme 09:17, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Yep, most ZA bloggers are white, and I'm not really into blogs, so I don't know who's who. Google gave me a link to Sipetile's blog:

Friendly intervention
Toussaint, I hope you don't mind my intrusive editing of your email addresses. It is intended to keep them from becoming continual prey to spambots.
I'm a former resident of Perry, Georgia who worked at the Houston Home Journal, a couple years before you were born. I remember the Oglethorpe campus pretty well from a few visits; it's a beautiful place. Best of luck to you, and thanks for your attention to detail, e.g. in Houston County articles. -- Rob C (Alarob) 22:08, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
P.S. After posting this I saw the notice about the Farid Esack article. I've read one of his books and learned a thing or two about him, so went and wrote a new article. Hope it makes the cut. -- Rob C (Alarob) 00:29, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Portals
I noticed that you are trying to make all portals look the same by applying the same box to all of them. While it's essentially not a terrible idea, but the color you used is very awkward. Red 1px border with blue background? It does not make sense at all, and looks very disturbing in some portals.
If you are doing this to one specific portal, it's perfectly fine. But doing it to every portals? You need to consult with some other people then. Please go to Wikipedia talk:Portal and discuss your idea.
Please use edit summary for most of the time... Oh, and those aren't not minor edits also. AQu01rius (User • Talk) 01:44, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- I am extremely angry because as the maintainer of Turkey Portal I wa sNOT asked about this layout change and it looked xtremely UGLY, red and BLUE together?? Please in the future leave the portal alone, it looks fine as it is now, no need to change the layout, sp. not for the worse... Thank you for NOT touching it anymore. --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 14:21, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Atlanta Portals
Hey there. I noticed that both {{Portal:Atlanta}} and {{Portal:Atlanta, Georgia}} have gone unedited since they were started about 2 months ago. I was planning on nominating them for deletion, but I wanted to approach you first, to ask if you had any plans to take up both projects again. If they are to be improved, they should be combined into one portal. Thanks. Runnerupnj 01:41, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I created the {{Portal:Atlanta}} one a while back, but then I forgot that the Atlanta, Georgia article wouldn't recognize that {{portal}}, only one that was named exactly after the article itself. So I created {{Portal:Atlanta, Georgia}} as a replacement. You can go ahead and delete {{Portal:Atlanta}}, but I'll try to add some more stuff to the {{Portal:Atlanta, Georgia}}, even though I'm at a loss of ideas right now. Thanks. --Toussaint 06:09, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, the template just needed to be changed to {{Portal|Atlanta}}. I've gone ahead and made this change and redirected all the pages at {{Portal:Atlanta, Georgia}} to the corresponding pages at {{Portal:Atlanta}}. --- RockMFR 04:41, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

I made a couple of changes because using "the" (in this case) with "Northwest Territories" caused a redirect. I also changed "Dependencies and other territories" as it appeared a little odd and doesn't really explain to the reader what the Canadian provinces and territories are. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 09:10, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi Harry,
Just wondering what prompted you to create the above rather than retain the {{Infobox Country or territory}} within the Cape Verde article...? Thanks for any insight, David Kernow (talk) 07:04, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
PS If it's to remain, I suggest renaming it {{Infobox Cape Verde}} for the sake of consistency, category indexing and the like.
- Hi there, I tried to change the national emblem of Cape Verde at the article Template:CapeVerde-InfoBox, but it is locked. Could you please change that image to Image:COA of Cape Verde.svg? Thanks! --Tonyjeff 15:04, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've already seen quite a few of them, I guess its for a better editing view of the article, rather than having to scroll down a bit until you get to the article's primary contents...
- Now you mention it, I realize I've also seen the same in some ethnic group articles... and I also agree that the space used when calling {{Infobox Country or territory}} or the like can be daunting. Is there any support/consensus for using the {{Infobox Cape Verde}} approach for all country/territory articles...? If so, {{Infobox Country or territory}} now includes "view · talk · edit" links below its footnotes area, so maybe these links could lead to {{Infobox country name}} rather than {{Infobox Country or territory}} itself. What do you think...?
- So far as I can tell, the cascading option doesn't now seem to be switched on for {{CapeVerde-InfoBox}}, {{Infobox Cape Verde}} or {tl|Infobox Country or territory}} itself, so I hope this means the problem has been resolved. Now that {{Infobox Cape Verde}} exists, shall I delete {{CapeVerde-InfoBox}}...? Regards, David (talk) 02:54, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Regarding edits made to Métis people (USA)
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Toussaint! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule \bmembers\.aol\.com\/.+, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links policy for more information. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. Georgia
Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia! As I'm sure you know, the state of Georgia is not the only place in the world called "Georgia"; as a result, our Wikipedia title Georgia is a disambiguation page. When you create templates and articles relating to the U.S. state of Georgia, please be sure to link to Georgia (U.S. state) to avoid confusion. Thanks. --Russ (talk) 11:06, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Copyright violations
You appear to have copied the "Media in ..." (African countries) articles verbatim from the BBC website. This is a copyright violation and is not allowed. If, on the other hand, they have copied from us, please let an admin know so that the pages can be restored and the BBC contacted. --kingboyk 11:41, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for the reply. The articles in question were deleted as they were pretty much word for word matches of the BBC articles, they were also very old. It's possible you copied them at the time not knowing our policies; it's also possible of course that the BBC copied them from us and didn't give credit! The articles I deleted were Media in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Media in Ghana, Media in Uganda, and Media in Kenya. If you don't remember whether you wrote these yourselves or copied them, I can give you temporary copies so you can check. Thanks again. --kingboyk 12:28, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- Try to keep your edit summaries civil.
- The article had a {{notability}} template on it for a month, and no-one offered any reason for the album being significant. If you think that it is, then please do more than simply recreate it (with the giveaway "The album sold 1,234 copies." — in what sense can that be significant?). --Mel Etitis (Talk) 18:31, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on AGR Web Solutions, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NeoNerd 16:35, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
internet
Your internet article contributions are welcome, but I think you are overdoing it. Too much OR, and WP is not a catalogue. There is no need to list what each ISP offers. Please remove the multiple offerings and pricing on all the articles. Even if it were relevant, no one can be expected to keep updating these figures which are outdated tomorrow by dynamic competition. While it is interesting to compare offerings, in six months, whoever is providing 1m or 2m download is also not relevant. Thanks --Shuki 18:15, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- I only moved the respective sections from Broadband Internet access worldwide into separate, "Internet in" articles. Apart from those sections, there isn't that much that I can find on Internet in most of these countries, since there aren't that many in-depth articles on the web which cover the usage of the Internet in these countries, or famous websites/forums/bloggers/ISPs/wikis which were launched in these countries. I think reorganizing and cleaning up these articles are the type of work more suited for an entire Wikiproject. --Toussaint 23:54, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks for pointing out the original article. Wow, someone must have spent a lot of time on that. --Shuki 08:41, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- Exactly. I didn't create that article, or the continental spinoffs (Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, Oceania), but the lengths of those spinoffs were all insane. Most of the larger sections in these sections desperately need to be spun off; but the way that the new articles come out (after being copy-pasted) show how lacking they are in anything substantial. These articles need help.
- Plus, I started working on these articles because someone created an article on Internet in the PRC; that's what I'm mostly going off of.

- Ok, thanks for pointing out the original article. Wow, someone must have spent a lot of time on that. --Shuki 08:41, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- Please never move articles via cut and paste, and never move out sections without indicating the original article. This is a violation of the GNU FDL, because you are appearing (involuntarily, of course) as the sole author of the newly created authors in the edit history. To avoid this, at least add a remark like "copied from Broadband Internet access in the Americas" in the edit comment of the initial version. Better still, name also the editors who created the text in the first place. See also WP:CUTPASTE. Regards, High on a tree 14:52, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

SA District navboxes
I really like the South African district navboxes you are creating. Can I ask where you are getting the lists of towns for each district? Thanks, htonl 14:13, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- PS: not because I think there's anything wrong with them, by the way! I'm just looking for that data for a project of my own. htonl 14:16, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ah! I have actually found a reliable source for lists of towns. Go to [1], then select a municipality from the drop-down boxes (it has to be a local municipality, and unfortunately the combo boxes only work in Internet Explorer) and select "Locational Information". It has the "official" list of communities (inasmuch as any official list exists). I'm going through and updating the templates from that info. By the way, what would you think of changing the second title to "Communities" instead of "Cities and towns"? After all, the top of the template says "Municipalities and Communities of XXX District Municipality". - htonl 16:24, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the above!! I've finished one special Star Wars (Robot Chicken Episode), and hopefully sometime in the near future I'll be finishing the other Christmas Special (Robot Chicken Episode). I'm really horrible with navboxes and don't want to screw this one up. Could you be so kind as to add these two to the bottom (probably under season 3) or wherever you see fit!SkierRMH 06:10, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Headers
Is there a reason behind adding "Succession" and "Navigation" headers to articles. As far as I know, this would be a major change in the WP:MOS for articles. Is this being discussed somewhere? - auburnpilot talk 23:45, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- It's because most of these articles possess widely-various lengths of template (both succession and navigation-type) addition. To add an increasing number of them to the "External Links" section doesn't, IMO, suit the purpose of these templates, which is to help the user navigate between articles within Wikipedia, not out to other websites. So...why are we putting navigatory templates i the "external Links" section again? --Toussaint 23:52, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- My understanding is that these templates are not necessarily included within the external link section, but are basically below the external links section, just as a {{stub}} template wouldn't have its own section. As these templates, categories, and succession boxes are not part of the article's content, they do not have headers. It might be wise to bring this up on a relevant policy talk page/village pump before rolling it out in mass. - auburnpilot talk 00:01, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
- And just for clarification, the Guide to layout states these boxes should be placed "at the very end of the article, following the last appendix section, but preceding the "categories and interwiki links", not in their own heading. - auburnpilot talk 00:11, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Please try and always use edit summaries
I have noticed that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! GoodnightmushTalk 11:18, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Toussaint, I often forgot to use an edit summary, until I found the Special:Preferences Editing option to "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary". Other than that: Many people do rarely use edit summaries, others use them to insult each other. Even some vandals have found out about the weight they're given and use edit summaries like "minor rewording" when blanking an article. —AldeBaer 21:41, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

- If you can't provide a source other than yourself for the section, I'm afraid that it's original research and/or not presenting a neutral POV; and the section may be subject to deletion, unless you can cite a reputable source discussing the matter. Lucky number 49 22:41, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Malcolm X
Hello. I read Perry when it was published, and it was criticized at the time for its sensationalism. On the other hand, I think Perry interviewed more of Malcolm's friends and associates than any biographer before or since, so his account — despite its sensationalism — may be accurate. See my discussion at Talk:Malcolm X#Sexuality.
The more important question, though, is whether questions of Malcolm's sexual experiences before he became a public figure are of any relevance to an encyclopedia article about him. Does it matter if George W. Bush was a compulsive masturbater as a teenager and young man? If Mahatma Ghandi ate a steak when he was 21?
Please review WP:Undue Weight. "Just as giving undue weight to a viewpoint is not neutral, so is giving undue weight to other verifiable and sourced statements. An article should not give undue weight to any aspects of the subject, but should strive to treat each aspect with a weight appropriate to its significance to the subject. Note that undue weight can be given in several ways, including, but not limited to, depth of detail, quantity of text, prominence of placement, and juxtaposition of statements."
I had read Tatchell's column before, but I hadn't seen Akinti's response. Thank you for pointing it out. Unlike Akinti, I don't think allegations that Malcolm may have been gay sully his reputation — although (unfortunately) I think his views are widespread. I hope that my comments here and at the article's Talk page make that clear.
In any event, if you feel that Perry's allegations about Malcolm's sexual experiences are relevant, put them back in the article, but let's also continue this discussion at Talk:Malcolm X#Sexuality, where other editors can participate. Thanks. — Malik Shabazz (Talk | contribs) 16:17, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Wikimania in Atlanta!
Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!
P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 05:52, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
SVG and related.
Hi, just to let you know that I have proposed that server-side SVG, SVG animation and SVG filter effect be deleted, this web of SVG related articles was much harder to navigate than one article at Scalable Vector Graphics. Conrad.Irwin 10:16, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Kenji Nagai
A tag has been placed on Kenji Nagai, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a7.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Bmg916Speak 17:41, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Question: what exactly is this list? In other words, if it isn't obvious from the title, you should put in a sentence telling what the list contains, for clarity. Biruitorul 22:47, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

- Hello, sorry to do this to you, but primary schools are not notable in themselves, and Wikipedia is not a directory for these schools. You can access the other AfDs from the info box on any one of the schools. Thanks and I hope you don't take this badly; but you will note that the high schools were left, as most high schools are notable. Phgao 15:35, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Adobe LiveCycle Data Services ES
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Adobe LiveCycle Data Services ES, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Oo7565 19:02, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on List of the oldest currently-registered Internet domain names, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —Caesura(t) 01:07, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Talk page for templates relating to pagan topics
Hello there Toussaint, I'm aware that at least five different templates have recently been produced and added to pages within this general area. I'm a bit concerned that this profusion has taken place without much discussion from editors who work on these articles, and I'd suggest that this should be discussed centrally so that there is a degree of uniformity in articles within the same family. I'm writing to you because I know you have been involved with these articles quite closely. If you would like to join this discussion, please do not reply here, but go instead to the talk page I have set up for this purpose. Of course if you want to have a 1:1 discussion about this, then please do reply here or on my own talk page. Many thanks! Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 00:14, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
James Brown template
Why is the bulk of Template:James Brown filled with links to Jimi Hendrix related articles? If the template is not ready to use yet (I see it has no page links) you should remove it from Category:James Brown and move it to a user subpage. InnocuousPseudonym (talk) 04:45, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
