Dear Tol Many thanks for your feedback on the edits I made to Stewart Mackinnon's profile. I am hoping you can help. I am Stewart's daughter and hoping to update his profile. In 2020 he founded Circle Pictures. Here's a link to the company website: https://circlepictures.co.uk/ and various sources confirming this:
- https://www.imdb.com/news/ni62686373/
He would also like to add after the detail on Headline: 'In 2020 and after delivering the final season of Man in the High Castle, Mackinnon and Jere Sulivan founded Circle Pictures with a global network of partners committed to producing world class drama which explores the pressing issues of our times.' He would also like to include the following articles is possible: https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/stewart-mackinnon-man-in-the-high-circle-pictures-1203403558/ and this article ‘time for a new renaissance written jointly with Nancy Soderberg - https://morningconsult.com/opinions/time-for-a-new-renaissance/ I would very much appreciate your help/advice to get this updated. Many thanks Laura Laura Edrica Mackinnon (talk) 13:48, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Laura Edrica Mackinnon: There were some problems with your edit, First, the tone was promotional ("committed to producing world class drama", "explores the pressing issues"), not neutral. Additionally, you should read our conflict of interest guideline — if you are his daughter, you have a conflict of interest. It is "strongly discouraged"[1] to edit articles where you have a conflict of interest. You can see the "COI editing" section of the conflict of interest guideline for further information on what to do. Thank you for asking! Tol (talk | contribs) @ 23:18, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
- Dear Tol Many thanks for your quick reply and helpful advice. If I change the edits so they are neutral (below) would you be able to accept this? I.e. keeping in the opening paragraph that in 2020 he founded Circle Pictures, but changing the detail to 'In 2020 and after delivering the final season of Man in the High Castle and securing the remake rights to the French series Call My Agent, Mackinnon and Jere Sulivan founded Circle Pictures with a global network of partners (1) to produce feature films and TV drama (2)(3) - supporting sources linked below.[2][3][4] Thank you for any advice you can give it is much appreciated. Regards Laura Laura Edrica Mackinnon (talk) 14:00, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Laura Edrica Mackinnon: I will take a look at your edit request soon. I think adding information on Circle Pictures would be fine, but I might revise some wording. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 21:07, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

I am a newbie to Wikipedia. I am asking about a submission that was declined. It is https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Jon_Myer. I am unclear on what reference is inadequate. Thank you. Eric Myer (talk) 23:54, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Eric Myer: The submission was declined because it lacked sufficient references to reliable sources to verify what had been written, as it said in the box at the top. After it was declined, you resubmitted it without any improvement, so it was declined again. I see that you are now improving it. Once you have more references, you should submit it again. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 18:17, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you. I have submitted it again. Eric Myer (talk) 23:19, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Eric Myer: No problem! You don't have to put a conflict of interest template on talk pages (unless it's an edit request), by the way. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 01:26, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

- somehow this came here. should have gone to the actual page creator. – robertsky (talk) 14:02, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Robertsky: No problem — I'm technically the first non-redirect author due to an unusual history merge. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 16:55, 5 August 2021 (UTC)
Question from Igweifeanyi13 (14:34, 7 August 2021)
[edit]hello can you take on steps to publish an acticle --Igweifeanyi13 (talk) 14:34, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Igweifeanyi13: It looks like you are using your user page to write a draft about yourself. You should read Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion and the conflict of interest guideline. We strongly discourage writing about yourself. Request for further editing on Klamath Hydroelectric Settlement Agreement page
[edit]HI! I am very new to wikipedia and am uncertain if I am following the proper protocol so forgive me if I am not doing this right! I made edits to the above mentioned page including making additional secondary source citations - could you edit again? I am hoping to make the page up to standards and have it viewable in the near future. Thank you for your time and guidance. Severianwolfe (talk) 22:49, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Severianwolfe: The references look fine! I would recommend formatting them using citation templates like Template:Cite web and Template:Cite journal, but it's up to you. I'll clean up the draft when I can — you can resubmit it to Articles for Creation by clicking the "resubmit" button and following the instructions. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 19:08, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
Template:Muni Metro
[edit]Would you be able to update Template:Muni Metro for yesterday's service change? The M Ocean View has resumed rail service, terminating at Embarcadero. Thanks, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 01:59, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

- @Pi.1415926535: No problem! I also improved the layout (so hopefully everything looks nicer) and added one-way stops. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 22:37, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

COI Small Edit Request
[edit]Dear Tol Can I please ask how long it usually takes for an edit to be reviewed? I made a request at the beginning of the month (August) on Stewart Mackinnon's page which you kindly said you would check. Any indication would be much appreciated. Thanks Laura Edrica Mackinnon (talk) 14:56, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Laura Edrica Mackinnon: COI edits requests often take a while. I'll review it today or tomorrow — apologies for the wait! Tol (talk | contribs) @ 18:34, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

- Dear Tol Thank you very much for updating the producer section. Would it be possible to also update the lead section as follows: Stewart Mackinnon is a Scottish film and television producer, founder and former CEO of Headline Pictures. He produced the film Quartet,[1] the international Emmy winning television film Peter And Wendy, and the Amazon Studios series The Man in the High Castle.[2] In 2020, Mackinnon and Jere Sulivan founded Circle Pictures, a company to produce feature films and television drama.[30] Or alternatively: Stewart Mackinnon is a Scottish film and television producer, founder and CEO of Headline Pictures and in 2020 founded Circle Pictures. He produced the film Quartet.,[1] the international Emmy winning television film Peter And Wendy, and the Amazon Studios series The Man in the High Castle[2] I have simply added the same sentence you added and also 'former' CEO of Headline Pictures so it is clear he is no longer CEO of Headline and there is no ambiguity. Would it also be possible to include a link to the following article and website of Circle Pictures?[1][2] I very much appreciate your help with this. Thank you Laura Edrica Mackinnon (talk) 14:00, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
- Done, you're welcome! Tol (talk | contribs) @ 15:10, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
- As for the article and website, I didn't add them because I didn't think they were good references. I have, however, added Circle Pictures' website to the "External links" section, because I think it may be appropriate as an external link. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 15:14, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
