A Doubt
I see that you have added category parameters on https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Divya_Dwivedi which are essential and I find another edit not made by you towards the bottom, presumably a code, which doesn't make sense. Please illuminate! — Preceding unsigned comment added by WWorringer (talk • contribs) 17:15, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
- This edit? The article is badly categorised, more specific categories needed. I'll revisit it soon. I have removed the INDEX magic word (see Wikipedia:MAGIC. Page information shows "indexing" is allowed, no need to have an extra magic word. --Titodutta (talk) 19:24, 10 September 2019 (UTC)
Hey Tito, yes that index code is what I was wondering about. Just now I checked if its getting picked up by search engines and that's not happening. May be there is something off in there. Totally agree with you about the categories. This is a very interesting article on an interesting subject because all these big names of continental philosophy are endorsing and writing about this woman philosopher working mostly in India that is unusual in a good way. So I think the category "continental philosophy" should remain because it seems very appropriate on the basis of the subject's work and recognition. The other categories I don't know, other than "deconstruction" because she published with Jean-Luc Nancy who is like the living deconstruction. For all these reasons it should be improved. Some images of the subject will lift it up too. Do you think that St Stephen's college alumni can be an appropriate category? May be I will add a "See Also" section. I looked at some of the stuff you do here. You do some amazing work here Tito! Cheers! WWorringer (talk) 04:32, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
- I have made some changes. There are several minor issues related to WP:MOS. Moreover I am not happy the way the two "Gandhi" sections have been written, it should be better rewritten. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 06:56, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
Totally agree on all those points! It needs rewrite in places. I will look out for some new material and sources and then try a rewrite. WP:MOS is complex and I think you are the expert to tweak it. Your category additions now give it a full and proper context. Please look into the search engine issue, it does not come up in google and duckduckgo. Pleasure to make your acquaintance! Sarat Chandra Kuthi
Hi, Tito. This is regarding Sarat Chandra Kuthi. I recently added updated the content of the article and added few WP:RS, but I have not come across more of such relevant information. Was curious if could be expanded further for a DYK nom. Was eager to hear from you on the same and see if the article could receive your assistance. --Tamravidhir (talk) 11:04, 7 September 2019 (UTC)
- The article was Prose size (text only): 2288 B (408 words) "readable prose size" when you started expanding. The current article size is: Prose size (text only): 3143 B (517 words) "readable prose size". It needs 11,000 bytes to be eligible for DYK. I doubt, whether we can expand the article so much in a few days. What do you think? --Titodutta (talk) 11:55, 7 September 2019 (UTC)
- I am apprehensive only because I do not see any new information available on the web. --Tamravidhir (talk) 12:31, 7 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, I don't think we can take it to DYK, one thing that can be tried is to improve the article as far as possible, so that it helps the readers. One starting point might be make a list of online resources (URLs). Some portions may need rewriting also, example
Sarat Chandra Kuthi (also known as, Sarat Smriti Mandir) is situated on the banks of the Rupnarayan river, in the village of Samta, in the Howrah district of West Bengal, India. It is noted for being the house of the Bengali novelist, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay for twelve years of his life.
-- perhaps the first sentence should mention that it is a house, and then we can talk about where it is located. --Titodutta (talk) 07:07, 11 September 2019 (UTC)- I am not too sure about the list of online resources as I think there may not be any more except those already in the article, but we could certainly look for more. I have also copy-edited the lead and other parts of the article. Could you please check and let know if there are any more issues which need to be looked into? --Tamravidhir (talk) 10:20, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
Assessment details
Could you suggest me how can I do the assessment of the article I created. And contribute to Wikipedia to give opportunity to new fellow editor article get reviewed. And also no articles backlog. Would be great help. Thanks Me2offo (talk) 05:41, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hello, you may see WP:ASSESS or Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Assessment FAQ. If you are unsure, I'd suggest not to assess your own articles right in the beginning. There are active Wikipedians who will assess articles. If you have questions about the process or on Wikipedia, in general, please let me know. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 05:49, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks I just want to contribute to Wikipedia and help my fellow editor with the backlog they are facing from the article assessment. So I wanted to know. Me2offo (talk) 05:55, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hello, yes, there is some backlog, for example see Category:Unassessed India articles. If you assess articles, be careful while you are editing, and of course, please feel free to ask question(s). --Titodutta (talk) 06:09, 16 September 2019 (UTC)

Hello I'm sorry. I'm asking for assistance. An fellow editor missed understood my reply. Please move the draft back to the article Draft:Raat Kamaal Hai to the Raat Kamaal Hai space. I did not request to anyone. Me2offo (talk) 06:14, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- Oh, I saw some of your recent articles while patrolling pages from WP:INNEW. I am unsure how this article meets notability guidelines. Could you share your view on this? Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 06:42, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- My recent articles which I created are some great song with awesome views. In content to sources Times Of India and Radio and music are some notable source. Me2offo (talk) 06:48, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- Kindly read the notability criteria page. Just telling "great songs" does not make a song notable. Please explain how this article meet one or more criteria at WP:NSONGS. Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 07:01, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- In context to WP:INNEW, I did not understood the score. Why score??? Me2offo (talk) 07:02, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- You may ignore that part, that is a list recently-created India-related articles. I am more interested to know about your view on the notability question. --Titodutta (talk) 07:04, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- I didn't ignore your question that you asked. As ready the first article creation on Wikipedia, notability is like a pillar on which a article can be published on the web and anyone could get the information about that. And so it's not have enough information about the subject and necessary details to be published. Me2offo (talk) 07:09, 16 September 2019 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) @Me2offo: Sorry for barging into this conversation Me2offo, but to rephrase what Tito means to ask you and know is that why in your view the song is notable, or in other words, important enough for having an article of its own. For that you would require information backed up by reliable sources. The notability guidelines mentioned by Tito further elucidate notability criteria. --Tamravidhir (talk) 03:35, 18 September 2019 (UTC)

Working on article on Durga puja
Greetings! I have been working on the article on Durga Puja for the past few days. It would be of great help if those interested in the topic amongst you could provide with respective inputs to improve the article. --Tamravidhir (talk) 03:28, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, I'll make some changes in the article gradually, hopefully till 8 October (Dusshera).
I think some references should be improved. I also dislike so many Kolkata Durga Puja images. Will check. --Titodutta (talk) 06:46, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi, sure. The references are presently been looked into since I last wrote to you. With regards to the images, I had worked on the choosing of images to go along with the text (for instance, immersion pictures in the environmental impact section, rituals' pictures in rituals and practices section, decoration pictures in the pandals sections, and such). Please let me know your further suggestions. Did you mean to say that there should be images but more representation of non-Kolkata pujas? --Tamravidhir (talk) 07:09, 18 September 2019 (UTC)

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!
Greetings!
After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.
On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:
- Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
- Diversity winner
- Gender-gap fillers
For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Mitelman Database: Chromosome Aberrations and Gene Fusions in Cancer
Hi Mr. Dutta,
I received an email that my edits made on Mitelman Database of Chromosome Aberrations and Gene Fusions in Cancer have been removed.
This was the message:
Hello, and thank you for your recent contributions. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edits because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! Titodutta (talk) 10:06, 20 September 2019 (UTC).
I appreciate your inputs and effort to maintain the page, however I'd like to point out that the edits were simply made to keep the information up-to-date.
1) The current information on the page is out of date: The database has been last updated in last May 2019, not Feb 2019 and the record counts are off.
2) The link to Mitelman Database Searcher Website is set to retire on Oct 1st 2019 (stated on the web page also) and it will no longer work after that date. However, a new web site has been made for this database and it is already active at the following URL address (https://mitelmandatabase.isb-cgc.org).
Please let me know if there's any way we can make a contribution to this page.
Regards,
Elaine

- There were several issues in those edits: a) please see WP:RS, we need reliable sources for information. b) many formatting issues, we do not generally add external links directly in an article, we do not use <p>, see Help:Wikitext, the tone was like advertising (See WP:NPOV). Regards. --Titodutta (talk) 19:17, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

Hi Titodutta, I have created two articles on the Wikipedia which have not been reviewed yet. They are Men Too movement (India) and Criticism of Swaminarayan sect. Can you please review them so that they can be included in the search result? -- Harshil want to talk? 06:21, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
- The first article is reviewed. I don't think the second article should be standalone article, and can very well be part of the main article, if needed. --Titodutta (talk) 08:36, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

Illy's university of coffee
Hello Tito, I re-added the description of the university of coffee project (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Illy) with citations from what I think are reliable sources. That was my second edit, suggestions and corrections are welcomed. Thanks. Gert from the well (talk) 17:29, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
- Firstly thank you. When after the first edits, you understand the importance of adding references, I find it promising. I have not checked all the references fully still, two suggestions: a) reference title is missing, and b) if a cited webpage is not in English, please mention the language in the citation itself like (note the language parameter)<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.gamberorosso.it/notizie/articoli-food/l-universita-del-caffe-di-illy-storia-ed-evoluzione-della-scuola-di-formazione-di-trieste/|website=Gamberorosso|language=it|access-date=2019-09-23}}</ref> which appears like this[1]

Hi Tito, Can you review this article created by me? Jesus water miracle. This was the incident due to which one well-known rationalist had to flew the country and shifted to another one. This was one of the major issue of the Superstition in India and was mentioned at two-three places in the Wikipedia too. — Harshil want to talk? 16:14, 25 September 2019 (UTC)

- Tito, Indeed this is DYK worthy. I do have a good hook in mind, but before we start the nom, we need to fix the title. Please join the discussion with User:Harshil169 at Talk:Jesus_water_miracle#Title when I first read the title, I thought this article was about the real Jesus walking on water miracle. it turned out to be a silly stunt by a church. Once we fix the title, using that we can start a DYK nom. We have time till 1 October, to nominate DYK. --DBigXrayᗙ 08:31, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- User:DBigXray, thanks. For ITNC I was talking about the Pune flood article. See the second link in this discussion. We saw several flood this year in India. yes, 2019 Pune flood looks like a major catastrophe with sizeable casualties. It is worth giving a shot at the ITNC. But the biggest hurdle is the stub size. it needs to be expanded to give some meaningful information on the topic, for it to be able to garner support. Right now it only gives basic info.
