Welcome, Timddeb!                                                                                                                                                  Now that you've joined Wikipedia, there are 15,339,898 users

Hello, Timddeb, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions! I'm Olivier, one of the many editors here, and I hope you decide to stay here and help contribute to Wikipedia.

Here are some links to get you started:

  Introduction to Wikipedia
  The five pillars of Wikipedia
  How to edit a page
  Editing tutorial
  Help pages

And here are some Do's and Don'ts:

  DO be bold

  DON'T spam
  DON'T infringe copyright
  DON'T get blocked
  DON'T vandalize

If you need further help, you can:

  Ask a question

Or even:

Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, drop a note on my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.

If you enjoy being here, there are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks
Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates

Remember to always sign your name on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your post; this will automatically insert your username, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.

As always though, the best way to learn about something is to experience it. Go and explore Wikipedia, the more time you spend on it, the more you'll know, and don't forget to have some fun!

How does X work?

Your question. Timddeb (talk) 01:12, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have recieved the following error message

You are currently unable to edit pages on Wikipedia.

You can still read pages, but you cannot edit, move, or create them.

Editing from 222.166.181.242 has been disabled by ProcseeBot for the following reason(s):
Banned proxys.svg

The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because it is believed to be an open proxy. To prevent abuse, these proxies may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. If you believe you are not running an open proxy, the most likely cause is that another customer from your ISP who was previously assigned this IP address was running an open proxy. If this is the case, please request to be unblocked using the {{unblock}} template, or request administrator attention using {{admin!}} and indicate you are caught by an open proxy block. More rarely, your network equipment or that of your service provider may be misconfigured or compromised by malicious software (such as a virus). In some cases, this can be remedied by logging into the secure server. For more information, see the Wikiproject on Open Proxies and Wikipedia:Open proxies.

However this is not true. I am typing this from my flat in Hong Kong. Previously I was domiciled in the UK, (for tax purposes I am) but living in HK for a while.

That means the Wikipedia project on open proxies. I hope a proxy checker will deal with this soon, but unfortunately it could be a while. JamesBWatson (talk) 13:12, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have checked and unblocked the IP. -- zzuuzz (talk) 13:31, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jumbo Kingdom

[edit]

Wikipedia is not a blog. I have removed your comments from the Jumbo Kingdom article. Comments belong to the talk page of articles. If you feel that the article is biased, you can change it in order to be more encyclopedic. If you think that it has a commercial bias but don't know how to edit it properly, you can add the {{advertisement}} template on the top of the page, in order to notify editors to correct it. I hope you will continue to edit Wikipedia. I have added some links at the top of this page, that I hope will be helpful. olivier (talk) 15:14, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Someone else actually removed the comment before I did. My comment remains the same, though. olivier (talk) 15:18, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
