Hi Tim, I noticed you were adding court cases to Category:Labor law of the United States. We already have a category for these at Category:United States labor case law, so I went ahead and made the latter into a subcategory and reverted your edits to the case articles. I also moved a bunch of articles from Category:United States law into the Labor law category, because they fit better there.

• Oh, thanks. I don't think I did a terribly good job finding September-related articles. But it is certainly a month with many diverse topics now! :) I wish there were more non-U.S. articles to choose from. Many of the articles I'd like to put up there are just four-sentence stubs and (I don't think) able to go up as AOTDs. I reverted this edit since it appears to remove a bunch of sourced materials in favor of unsourced materials. Klaus Gerhart

Hi, Tim1965,

(This is my first User talk entry, so please forgive any format errors.)

It amused me very much to find that you undid my correction to Klaus Gerhart's biography. I changed it to reflect the fact the he and I moved from Chicago to Los Angeles together, in September 1989. We made the drive in my 1975 Dodge pickup truck, pulling a U-Haul trailer with two motorcycles - his a Honda 750 Blackhawk and mine a Yamaha 650 Maxim - and all our earthly belongings. We had been friends in Chicago and shared an apartment on Fairfax Avenue for a few months before cabin fever set in.

Anyway, I wonder what makes one so sure of the dates to which you re-edited Klaus' page.

• Hi Clay. Wikipedia's policy is to cite sources. Sadly, Klaus Gerhart's never been interviewed (that I can find). We have to go by the brief synopses that his publishers have written. I admit, I'm guessing at the dates. But that's because in both references cited in the article, the publisher either says outright "he moved to L.A. in 1994" or because the source says "he created the Naked Art Gallery in 1995, a year after he moved to L.A." I fully realize you may be more accurate. But Wikipedia says we can't go with personal knowledge; sources have to be cited (even if everyone knows they are wrong). Plus, this is cyberspace. You could be some schmo from Missoula, Montana -- not Klaus Gerhart's ex-bf. No one can tell for sure, can they? I don't doubt that you are who you are, but others will. And lastly, you can't believe how many idiot high school kids think it's funny to go into an article about a gay person and start f**king with the dates, places, etc. Since no one can tell who you are, I had to do the undo. Had you had a citation, I wouldn't have cared less.

My suggestion: You know him. Go tell Klaus Gerhart do an interview with "Blue" or some other magazine so that the record can be set straight. (Hell, even "Frontiers" or "Bay Area Reporter" would do it! :) ) And while you're at it, tell him to publish some more books, damnit! My photobook collection needs some new additions, and yet another Sam Carson hack-job ain't gonna get added to it. - Tim1965 01:12, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

• Damn. I was hoping you could get in touch with him! Oh well. The article is laudatory, but then that's the only stuff I can find out there on him. (Photography criticism is particularly prone to ass-kissing. And not in the good ass-kissing way, either.) My own view is that about half his images are good, and the other half "jocks on rocks" trite/Tom Bianchi wanna-be. (But that's just my personal opinion; I'm not easy to please, photography-wise.) But his work impressed me enough to write an article about him. (I've written other articles about gay photographers, but there's so little information out there about any of these guys. It really is depressing.) One alternative is for you (and others of his friends) to get interviewed as a group by a journalist or writer who'd want to do a piece on Gerhart. Free Association of German Trade Unions

Hi Tim, I've been putting a lot of work into the article about the Free Association of German Trade Unions recently. I would like to nominate it to become a good article soon. Considering the great job you did on the Fritz Kater article a few weeks ago, I was wondering if you could have a look through this one as well, copyedit it as needed and also check if it is thoroughly NPOV (I have to admit a bit of sympathy for the organization) and eligible for GA in general. I will still be expanding the "Radicalization and expulsion from the SPD" section just a little and adding bits and pieces about the union's ideology throughout the whole article and another image or two, if I can get my hands on them, but other than that I think it's more or less finished. Organized labour?

Hello. I noticed today that you recently added an article I have worked extensively on, André Morell, to Wikiproject:Organized Labour, placing that template on its talk page. I'm just a bit curious as to how he fits into that category? He was an actor, and for a time a soldier during the Second World War, so I'm not entirely sure how it fits? It fits because of this:

In 1969 he became the vice president of Equity, the trade union for British actors and performers. He then served as president of the organisation for a year from 1973–74. During this time he was involved in a dispute in which Equity threatened to expel Laurence Olivier as a member due to comments he made in a newspaper feature about the possibility of forming a breakaway union. The union also suffered from financial problems, and Morell continued to warn against destructive divisions amongst the members when he stepped down as president.

After all, he was the national union president of Equity. And during his tenure, the union went through a major controversy. That's why he got the Organized Labour tag. - Tim1965 17:37, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

I'm confused by a nummber of the points in your GA fail of this article:

• Point 2) What is the specific problem with the references' compliance with the MoS?
• Point 3) If the topic is covered reasonably, I don't understand why not citing one specific reference or another is relevant.
• Point 4) Not understanding the issue with the references section as each reference appears complete in the references section.
• Point 7) There is no spot in the infobox for either an IAFD link or an AFDB link and I don't understand what you mean about including citations in the infobox.
