Talk:Eleni_Papadopulos-Eleopulos
Please take a look at [[1]]. An editor is making what could be construed as legal threats after being warned not to do so. Falcon8765 (TALK) 02:14, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
- Unfortunately after you left a message on User talk:Extremoz, they promptly accused everyone of having an agenda. I understand where the editor is coming from, but the personal attacks are unnecessary. Falcon8765 (TALK) 02:41, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
- (EC) I agree, it's most uncollaborative. The accusations of agendas, conspiracies and cabals are indicators of an empty argument. Following is the message I tried to post before the edit conflict:
Hi, Falcon8765. I don't see a legal threat so much as a desparate attempt to sway the editing of the article. I know that is sort of what NLT encompasses, but the user has not made a direct threat of action. As their "threat" is not dissuading comment I'm inclined to let the rope play out a bit farther. I would certainly understand a different interpretation, however. I would be interested in any more input or feedback from any of the involved parties. - (EC) I agree, it's most uncollaborative. The accusations of agendas, conspiracies and cabals are indicators of an empty argument. Following is the message I tried to post before the edit conflict:
"Neutrality" is a cover word or mechanism for distortion in favor of corporate free market commoditized interest and the science that promotes it. It Neutralizes and hides the truth. It does not free up the truth. If your "experienced editors" are concerend with neutrality and collaboration they would investigate my claims about Dr. Eleni Papadopulos Eleopulos or read my recent new section on the talk page for her article.
I have not had a rough time. I know exactly where I stand. I am a Marxist and I analyze everything from a structuralist and dialectic perspective Wikpedia is nothing more than a bunch of "egoists" concerned about "Function" and rules not Truth and "substance", thinking they have contributed something (a minority of them have admittedly). It is nothing more than a well regulated and powerfully controlled (by corporations) blogger or youtube comment section. It's misconceived. The idea that a subject gets more objective the more people participate is flawed. It's relativist, fascist and in service of moneyed interests.
who is reporting me. Yobol? He should be banned he has slandered Dr. Papadopulos. And legal threats should be made if you were truly informed about his misstatments concerning Papadopulos. One of your "Pillars" states that "interpretation" and bias is not allowed. Yobol uses citations that are completely self interested and then tell me that that is what I am doing. You are scrutinizing the wrong person and lost a fresh and unbiased perspective that could have contributed something.
Go back to your individualist, post modernist (relativist) world of the "neutrality" and "objectivtiy" and keep contributing and regulating in favor of the dominant State capitalist paradigm. Extremoz (talk) 02:56, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
Please close my account I will take note that you are one of the people who is permitting the slander of Dr. Papadopulos.
- Most "uncollaborative" for whose purposes? "Empty argument" Yet another postivist on wikipedia? Form, semantics and no substance, that is what postivism and the focust on argumentaiont and semiotics is. It's idealist to the core.

This Does not appear like a test edit to me. Although it does not belong there, I think it was not a test or vandalism. Obviously was a good faith edit and should be revised as re-added to the page as it appears to be an issue that has credibility. I notified the editor simply not to add original research (which it is). I think that if the author were to cite some sources, it would be acceptable. --BigDwiki (talk) 05:30, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Koine and Ancient Greek
Koine is of course an ancient language, but it's not ancient Greek. It was spoken in the centuries after Clasical Antiquity, and it is basically the language spoken in Greece today (Byzantine Greek in the medieval period didn't bring any substantial change). In fact, the only difference between Koine and Modern Greek is the fact that in 1981, the government of Andreas Papandreou (father of current prime minister) abolished the polytonic system. - Um, I can't adjust the block (even if I could, I wouldn't second guess you). Blocks are progessively longer if the shorter blocks don't work. If you find that two weeks stops the problem, then I say job well done. If not, there's a fix for that too :)

Aonach Beag
Hello. You do not say what your role is. I presume, however, that my edit was reverted by you and that you are the person who deemed it 'unconstructive'? Let me explain... Here is the phrase I edited: 'Aonach Beag is the highest peak in the British Isles without the Cairngorm mountains of eastern Scotland.' Do you not agree that the use of 'without' is peculiar and antiquated? In modern English, 'without' means 'not having', 'lacking'... which makes no sense here. I had assumed the writer meant 'outwith', which is Scottish English for 'outside', hence my contribution. Non-Scots, I agree, might find the usage unclear. The original 'without' is even more so. For clarity's sake, therefore, I suggest changing 'without' to 'outside'. (Touché about the sandbox: I've had to re-send the message properly... I hope). Thank you. I'm sorry about my edits. I was only changing the article to the best of my knowledge. Most of the information that was present previous to my edits was biased and incorrect. I apologize if my edits were incorrect, but the article contains many made up facts and misleading information. A lot of the citations are empty and not backed up either. Also, I know for a fact that the section about Scott Palguta's personal life is correct and should not have been deleted. I appreciate your vigilance and realize that you are doing your job, but wikipedia needs to understand that some people write their own articles just to boost themselves. 75.206.177.87 (talk) 01:54, 30 July 2011 (UTC)

Editing the Samuel Whitbread entry
Hi there, this is Ray.
I understand the necessity for verifiability. There has to be a limiting factor though. Otherwise we would have to verify that the sun is hot or that gravity exists.
As an honest contributor to wikipedia it did seem to me to be important to adjust the Samuel Whitbread entry to include a little truth in with the other pap.
That the quantity of litter around Samuel Whitbread School is disgustingly large is obvious to all residents of the area. Unfortunately, unless I put an entry about it on my website (which I can then cite) the evidence of all our eyes appears to be worth less than unverified external sources (a known Wiki problem, as I am sure you are aware).
There are other uncited and unverified items on the Sam Whitbread Wiki entry, I hope you intend also to delete those.
86.14.216.207 (talk) 21:35, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hello, Ray. "Limiting factor[s]" do exist. The third paragraph of the policy page (WP:Verifiability) states "Verifiability is one of Wikipedia's core content policies, along with No original research and Neutral point of view. These policies jointly determine the type and quality of material that is acceptable in articles. They should not be interpreted in isolation from one another, and editors should familiarize themselves with the key points of all three."
- In your specific example the edit contains "...,this policy does not seem to be working,..., which is a drawn conculsion based on personal observation. As editors, we are not tasked with drawing conclusions; we leave that to the reader.
- As for requiring sources for obvious facts, the policy page WP:No original research explains that all material added to articles must be attributable not attributed. Finding sources describing the temperature of the sun and the existance of gravity would be no challenge.
- "..., unless I put an entry about it on my website (which I can then cite),..." see WP:Identifying reliable sources
- The article may have issues that need to be addressed (I don't know, as far as I can see I've never edited it), I hope you'll help us out with that....within the framework of this project's policies and guidelines, of course. Regards Tiderolls 05:59, 9 September 2011 (UTC) Side note: looking at the article's talk page, I've decided to comment there as well.
Thanks for that...

Hi itsZippy -
I capitalized the "h" in Him due to the fact that most every religion agrees that Jesus is a deity. Judaism, Muslim and Christian alike see Jesus as a profit, God or part of God. Therefore under all circumstances any mention of Jesus should; without a doubt be capitalized.
If that is against the rules then please by all means change it. I was just putting it into context of the document it appeared in. If it had appeared in a document that was saying that Jesus was not a deity then I would have not capitalized it, but it did not. Muslims believe that Jesus will be resurrected here shortly. Therefore in that context it makes Jesus a deity and should be capitalized. Thank you 71.170.235.122 (talk) 21:09, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
